Great Video Jay! Just a few days ago i was outside my house and saw a huge boat go by with a massive catch and cook logo almost the full length on the side of it and got so excited. I live near Sparrow Lake (few minutes south of Gravenhurst, ON) and i have never been so excited in my life. I had to explain to my wife what catch and cook was after that. Keep up the great work.
We catch and release probably 20 that size or bigger every year. Love you guys giving some love to the dinosaurs but now it’s time to come to NC and get serious! No sight fishing, just casting and catching up to 50 a day!

For the IGFA length records is it required to be measured on their bump board or does standardized commercial board like a Musky Bumper work? I tried to find it on the IGFA site but can’t find that specific information.
Ive seen pre and post spawn bowfin at the islands that were no doubt in my mind beyond any record sized bowfin I've seen. My buddy hooked one in trout pond from a canoe w his worm rod/reel and it towed him around the pond for 20minutes lol.
I just caught a bowfin by accident in lake Simcoe (Ontario). Same thing, sight fishing it, thought it was a huge smallie. Had no idea what it was when we got it in the boat. It was about that size, I wish I would have measured it maybe it was a record 😂
