- If there’s a fish that swims, Jay Siemens needs to catch it. In his new series, The Canadian Angle, Jay takes us along for the ride in search of walleye, bass, pike, musky, and everything in-between. New episodes every Friday at 11am MST.
In episode 1, Jay Siemens takes a hands-on approach to find out where his bait comes from. Starting by netting some spring suckers, he then follows up by putting that sucker meat to use as bait and learning the art of trapping leeches with commercial trapper Scott Green. The whole process comes full circle by heading out on Lake of the Woods with Samantha Wallin in search of Lake of the Wood’s prized possession, the golden Walleye.

I've watched a few Meateater episodes over the years, but I don't hunt, so I leaned towards the fishing ones. Plus the Guyana series because I was born there.

The leech traps are made from old aluminum newspaper printing press plates and are also commonly used in Northern MI. Support your local newspaper, support your local leech producers & walleye anglers!

Agreed! These people are all about their property being their property yet they think it’s okay to hound hunt on other peoples property with no permission. These hound hunters are delusional!!!
@@joshpzueck6320 Their belief that private property is theirs to trespass on (so long as they have a hunting license) is literally a communist belief but you can bet they'll cry "communism" (obviously without knowing what it means) when something happens that they don't like.
