    This paint is amazing - used it on an old Whaler. Mind blowing how well it worked/looks. Used EZ-Prime on the inside of topside first as the base, came out gorgeous. Friends thought we had the gelcoat done! Pettit - is the best. Tip: To clean boat use plain water on a soft micro cloth (soaps can dull shine).

    Thanks for video. Looking to do my 17 footer with same color. Can you specify the strainer type and the roller type with links from Amazon? I got some rollers already, but not sure if they are the same type. Also the foam brushes, are they special types? I dont have the Pettit thinner yet, can it be any store thinner?

      It's important you use the Pettit thinner. 120 Brushing Thinner is a combination of 4 solvents to maintain the properties of the paint. Generic thinners can add contamination to the paint and/or lose properties of the paint.

    Hi! Just wondering why you're not supposed to spray the performance enhancer?? Thanks!

    • @PettitPaint
      @PettitPaint  10 месяцев назад +4

      The EZ Poxy Performance Enhancer has an isocyanate in it. Only professionals should spray the product with proper PPE.

    I notice you putting a second coat on. Do you need to sand between coats? Also can you use the performance enhancer additive?

    • @Letizia4813
      @Letizia4813 Месяц назад +1

      I was wondering the same thing about sanding between coats. And also this method won't leave any streaking from the brush?

    • @PettitPaint
      @PettitPaint  29 дней назад +1

      it depends on how long you wait between coats, if within 24 hours, you don't need to sand as the hot solvent will bite into previous coating. If more than 24 hours, you should light sand or scuff with scotchbrite .

    • @PettitPaint
      @PettitPaint  29 дней назад +1

      @@Letizia4813 you shouldn't have streaking if the product is thinned properly.

    Great video! Does the paint need to be sealed with a polyurethane or sealant?

    Does it have to be tipped vertically always or can it be tipped horizontally?

    • @PettitPaint
      @PettitPaint  9 месяцев назад +2

      Vertical is best but it can be done horizontally.

    What kind of mask is being worn during the application? And was it really necessary or just because you’re on RUclips?

    Why not use the Petit EZpoxy Performance enhancer instead of using the thinner?

    • @PettitPaint
      @PettitPaint  6 месяцев назад +2

      The Performance Enhancer isn't a reducer.

    • @PettitPaint
      @PettitPaint  7 месяцев назад +2

      Yes, rolling or tipping or spraying, you should thin about 10% depending on atmospheric conditions.Mix ratio is on the can.

    Is brushing thinner the same as Flo-trol?

    • @PettitPaint

      no, flo-trol shouldn't be used in our products. Brushing thinner is a combination of 4 different solvents.

    What did you sand with after, and did you compound n buff and then a finish polish?

    • @PettitPaint
      @PettitPaint  10 месяцев назад +1

      The boat wasn't sanded after the paint was applied, it also wasn't cut or buffed either. The finish is exactly as it was applied.

    Did you sand between coats?

    • @PettitPaint
      @PettitPaint  10 месяцев назад +3

      In this video we didn't as we put the two coats on within 24 hours. The solvent in the product will allow the product within 24 hours to overcoat itself without the need for sanding. If you wait more than 24 hours or if your application is less than perfect, then you should scuff sand in between.
