Short and sweet. Thanks for sharing.
Best paint video on RUclips, period.
Thanks for clarifying use case for each formula!
Thank you for the totally informative video! Nice a simple I got it all clear. I just finished painting our boat with Epifanes mono-urethane and I was happy to hear that it should be good for a few years at least!!! It is a steel boat with many different paints underneath. I prepped it with washing, sanding and degreasing (after I treated all the little rusty places). It looks indeed very good after only two coats. Keep those videos coming :) Priceless 👏👏👏👏
This is exactly what I needed. Thank you!!!
You're so welcome!
I wish I wanted this content befor I bought paint. Nice work, thank you.
Very informative. Good job!
Exactly! Don't trap wood in poly stuff. Great video!
excellent info, thank you!!!
Years ago I switched to oil paint-One Shot Sign paint, after being dissatisfied with yacht paint, especially the two part Imron that popped off the deck when something was dropped on it. It was extremely difficult to sand. (I would like to know if this is characteristic of all two part paints.) I like this oil paint for ease of use when lots of Penetrol are added to it. Too bad it doesn’t hold a shine and likes mildews at first, but this brand of paint holds it’s color extremely well and the left over does not have to get tossed. It lasts for many years in the can, making it easy to color match because I usually lighten the color with white. I would appreciate any comments you or others might have.
For fiberglass or over gel coat a top quality automotive paint is going to be the best coating.
Hi there, thank you for this video. I have a Cabo Express, the top of the hardtop which is textured needs repainting it's white. The existing paint is flaking off, in the forward area, but most of it is still in good shape as a tuna tower with it's own floor is above it. It obviously doesn't get any traffic or even seen unless I'm standing on it to wash the tower. What paint would be a good middle of the road solution? Thank you very much!
Nice video.I have a painted aluminum boat and have a few bare spots that i would like to prime with an etching primer and then paint the off white on the bottom either off white or white .I would like to repaint the top which is black .The boat will be taken out of the water after each weekly outing .Could i use the brightside urethand for this application .Thanks
Please what can you use as fillers when painting an old carvel planked wooden boat?
I need to repaint the stripe on top of the hull on my sailboat. There are some areas where some fibreglass is showing through. What would you recommend for that type of situation?
Hi John - you have a few options there. You could do an epoxy repair on the affected area for greatest strength, then paint over it. Or you could prime it and paint it. Or you could just paint it! They should each yield satisfactory results but have different levels of strength and longevity.
How many coats of paint are generally required for long lasting results?
Marco - typically one or two, depending on the condition/thickness of the paint below.
My boat has a few layers of flaking paint on it already. If I use a one part PU paint, I guess I should sand it off, but how far down should I go? There is probably gel coat under there somewhere. Can I brush and roller a 1 part PU paint?
1k toplac plus
2k Awlcraft with epoxy primer is always the best option.
But you need to know what is underneath it first. - as all 1k you need to remove.
Just sand enough, so it's not flaking loose. And prime

Should I redo with top coat or gelcoat?
