I still have an unopened bottle of the 18yr Gold Centenary Blend that I found in a shop a few years ago. It's waiting for my 50th birthday. It's a very nice expression of Johnnie Walker.
did you drink it?
I havnt had a lot of blends was sticking to single malts but def want to broaden my horizons and try this and some others!!
Its almost 2023 now , good luck finding this for less then 90 euro 💶
60 euro on that side
Thank you gentlemen for the informative video.........Happy Holidays!
I look forward to trying this one. Hopefully it is closer to the old JW Gold 18, before they made it an NAS and brought out the Platinum.
It's a wonderful blended scotch, and I highly recommend it. In addition to the flavors you mentioned, I also tasted almonds with a hint of vanilla. It's incredibly smooth, and I enjoy the delightful smokey note.
I have to try this, thank you gentlemen.
Bought a bottle and tried it in uniosn with these two, this whisky is just very very smooth
hello, i got a johnny walker red label 2 liters, the guy is going to the left side but it has 43% vol, what is it about, i thought red label has 40%. It is a duty free product.
I usually dont like blended, especially the cheap ones. I find them too watery. This one is exceptional for the nose as well as being very easy for the palate.
One of my favorites from Johnnie Walker!
Would you be interested in a 1972 Johnnie walker red label, unopened, still in its Christmas box
Trey Pesek yes i would
Wer r u from ?
@@joshuaa9208 did you get it?
Absolutely.... İ tasted this one..i.love Johnny Walker 18y.o verry much...İTS so amazing and brillant..one of the best whisky level for my mouth ..😁😄
It is a very good bottle. Not a whiskey or licor expect by any means. Was gifted a bottle and for a person who rarely drinks, I really enjoyed it.
I came for the review; stayed for the slurping and swishing. Amazing bouquet on this one. And delicious, not overly sweet dram to savor. Good to share with a novice and perhaps step up to a peat forward dram on the next. A good change-up from the green label in your cabinet.
MTH Power Wash LLC Cheers! Be safe
I enjoyed watching two professional talk of whisky.. Drank my dram of Maker's Mark during presentation. Enjoyed🍸🇬🇧🇺🇸👍
When i had this blend, after opening the botlle i tasted in the aftertaste damp earth, not my favorite taste in whisky. But after a few hours tasting it again that flavor was gone. And i loved it, very balanced whisky not to sweet, creamy, fruity some caramel, a little cinamon, the oak was coming thru very well and pleasant not to much but definitly there. Very nice soft matured tastefull whisky.
just got a bottle of this for 2,555 Philippine pesos to be precise ($45 usd)! cant wait to taste it on Christmas Eve
Enjoy!
Has anyone heard of special edition anniversary bottlings from Johnnie Walker? I live in Australia... always the last to hear anything...
Good review, however, the I much prefer the JW Green Label to this. It's close in minimum age (15 vs 18 years), contains no grain whiskey, higher ABV (43% vs 40%) and obviously has a higher percentage of their signature malts. Plus, the Green is $20.00 less expensive for an objectively better whisky. Subjectively, I find the Green to be a meatier whisky with more character and better mouth feel. Green remains the pick of the JW litter and their best value.
As always, I appreciate your reviews.
Jim Vouvakis I agree 100% that jw green not only cheaper, but a better whisky period. Not price or packaging and bottle design makes the 18 ultimate a better drink than jw green. When I finish jw 18 ultimate with help from friends, I’ll refill it with jw green!
I agree with what you say . . . But I find this 18 Year Ultimate can hold the class by its own, different enough from the green. Both really good IMO.
Thanks for the honest recommendation. I'm very new into the world of whiskys so, i thought to be sure that the price is directly linked with the quality of a blended whiskey. When i saw your comment i couldn't resist to buy both Green Label and 18 Ultimate to compare them against each other. As a beginner with hardly any experience I think I can see why you would always pick the Green Label, but I have to admit, that for now I would rather "spend the evening" with the 18 years old Ultimate Edition only because of its smooth and silky feel and therefore more accessible taste.
Love the green as well. Here in Arizona you can get both bottles for about 65 bucks.
The distillery documentarys, are all great!!............................... 👍.
I have been getting into the JW line, and had all of their regular blends (even the blue). This review was superb. My personal fav for the price point is the Gold Label. The 18 year is great, but I prefer the Gold more.
Johnnie Walkers 18 is $97 including taxes in my area of Louisiana, U.S.A.
probably the best among the core range. creamy good!
a nice made bottle and a really smooth whisky with nice smelling.
would you be interested in a 1972 Johnnie walker red, unopened, still it’s it’s Christmas box. You can contact me at +19032803041
I am gonna try a Blue Label for the first time in 2 days, so excited!
I have tasted blue label and its simply amazing, its so soft yet it doesnt taste like water. And the aftertaste is so long and enjoyble. Definitly would buy another bottle.
King George V, is better, more like a upgraded Platinum....... 👍.
@@karldunne5595 no shit l...it costs x4 as much lol
@@waferpie123 once a year, for family celebrations is good..... I prefer the flavour profile of the King George V,..... Its about as much as I would ever spend for special occasions.... But, it delivers the quality....
@@karldunne5595 for that money and even considerably less, you can get far better whisky. 500 for a no age statement blend? No thank you. But do enjoy, at the end of the day, drink what's enjoyable for you.
Great! I would love to taste that as well! Please report back into this thread how you liked the Blue Label! And HAPPY NEW YEAR to all you malt lovers out there :-D :-D
I have a unopened bottle of this one, now looking forward to opening it.
Enjoy!
JW 18 and 15 ( green) are cheap and surprisingly delicious.
My wedding coming up and I'm looking for a great bottle of whisky or scotch for a toast and as a show off piece for my collection what do you guys suggest
it all depends on the kind of flavors you like and how much are you willing to afford
Subscribed, cheers !!!
I taste nuts almond oak and sweetness with a bit of vanilla on the palate (not in that order). Verry little alcholol burn . If you want to spend that much on a bottle it's worth it
Platinum and King George V... are my favourite whiskys,.....i would like a Platinum 21,..and Platinum 25 yr old release, however, a Platinum 25, would be something like King George V!!............... 👍.
May I request for a review of Larson XO Reserve
I have a Johnnie walker red unopened from 1972 still in its Christmas box. Would you have any idea of the value
I would pay a 150 buck,s or so but i think there maybe more jw freaks who paid more
Reamon de wit would you still be interested in the 1972 bottle I have. You can contact me a 903-280-3041
Still have it?
Trey Pesek hello! Do you still have the bottle?
Looks like they took their bottle cues straight from Macallan. Pricing is all over the board here - the 65 euro cost is about half what it goes for in some places. Crazy.
How much please
I recently got a sample 50ml bottle of this. Quite pleasing. I plan to get a full bottle of it!
That swishing though😬🙉
Is it worth it FIRST
In Canada this is $150, same as Glenlivet 18... Is this really worth it?
Hell no
Nope
$89 here
*These guys don’t make me want to drink Miller Hi-life*
Why do I feel like these guys are wealthy as hell
We finished this bottle in 20 mins
Please review Johnnie Walker Black label 12 yo origin series blended malt whiskies. It's a duty free exclusive
Я попробовал супер виски
This stuff for the price is Amazing sorry green label I really thought you was the best for price point. In the U.S this is from $120-95$ I havnt seen it any cheaper Green Label is about $50-$70 i think it’s better to pay the extra and get Gold 18
Why review Johnny Walker and no Compass Box blends? Almost every other channel recognizes the superiority of Compass Box blends.
When you’re walking to the left you are heading home & when you’re walking to the right you are heading away from home off to adventure
Very creamy, very sweet, fairly smoky… but a bit two dimensional as opposed to the complexity you find in an 18 year old single malt. But, it’s cheaper than most single malts at this age.
I don't drink liquor often. I just tried this and it taste like I'm drinking regular Jim beam or something 😕
@@nelz2012 never tried red. Never will. Had the 18 year and bought blue label.
Try ardbeg uigeadail scotch whiskey
When I smell it, all I can smell is alcohol
What is “sigh-trus”......does he mean citrus ?
Citrus indeed
No shit, Sherlock- Lewis. Not everybody is native englishman.
Just drink the stuff and stop with all of the irritating mouth noises 🤨
I don't suppose you guys can be honest and tell it how it is that this 18 year old is just.. okay.. subpar at best, and doesnt even compete with the green. Well I guess I'll tell it for you.
The 18 is the best in my opinion. Green is third. Black is second. Blue is forth. I love the oily layer.
