The game devs actually wanted to make a really good game, there's some leaked beta build floating around that shows a game that's actually decent. But the people in charge were all "no we don't like this, we have zero game development experience, you should do what we think" and then they kinda just had to make a bad game as dictated by the execs.
It was the Warner Brother's licensing team. The whole team got changed like days after the deal was made, and the new team were apparently morons. They wanted Titus to make it a Sim City-style game initially, and the dev company had to basically wait months for every decision to be approved before they could implement it. The original concept of a Tomb Raider-esque title sounds super promising, too.

Though iirc the PS1 versions ROM leaked on line some time ago, and the game was actually OKAY… not.. good or anything special. But better than this.
tbh I don't think it is worth doing, the tube itself used very tired. I would rather store it for parts or give it away for parts... STILL it's a very neat set and it would be nice to see it restored

I think this game was originally mean to be an ambitious, open world experience. Some of that open world DNA is actually in there, but I remember a story about how the publishers kept wanting them to change it, they didn't want violence, so they changed it to the Virtual World concept, but so many issues happening in studio just really messed with the development and they were forced to release for the holidays, so they just took what semi-functional build they had, did the bare minimum to make some sort of game with it, and have it pressed and released. It's a shame because the N64 really could have used an ambitious, Open world game with it's already shallow library.

aftershows were discontinued months ago and his patreon is shutting down in 2024, they were already included in the season omnibus videos and now he's releasing them separately as compensation for youtube enabling midroll ads on his videos
When I was a kid I was so into Superman, I dressed up as him for Halloween every year, I had about a thousand action figures, I used to go to Walmart in a Superman costume, all that stuff. One day when I was like 5 my dad bought me this garbage game and I couldn’t get past the first level. Ruined Superman for me.

I've also had similar issues with an old CRT I had that just had a lot of dust in it, a proper cleaning fixed the issue.

The roll at the top usually means an issue with the B+ or possibly the hz dial? A cap kit would do it good in any case.
