AVGN episode 169 Superman 64 Returns!
The AVGN already covered Superman for the N64 about 11 years ago. Well, it's back... with a vengeance! Superman 64 was released for Nintendo 64 in 1999. It was based off Superman The Animated Series on Kids WB. It was also coming to PlayStation. But, however, the PlayStation Version was never release. After the game came out on Nintendo 64, it became the world's Worst Video Game of all time besides E.T. for Atari 2600.

I think it's more a reference to "future" Superman (I forget his actual name.), who spent 15,000 years inside the Sun and then when he came out he was solid gold and he'd become so physically and psychically strong that he was basically a God.
The stupid game came out 14,989 years too early and got its shit crushed for its troubles.

I can see it now, James decides he wants to learn how to be a pilot and eventually does, one day he’s having small talk with someone in a store while shopping and they ask him what he does for a living.
He tells them he’s a pilot and they ask the dreaded question, “Where did you learn to fly?” And James just has an absolute PTSD freak out in the middle of circuit city.
Circuit City is dead though.
Then at least nobody would hear him.
Remember, Darkseid going with the cops, Superman freezing his friends, it all works here because it's all a simulation. It was certainly a choice on the designer's part...

Actually, Luther's alternate reality world is quite brilliant. He limits Superman's ability to move, and made the environment so frustrating to travel through, that he just gives up most of the time. The game is then shut off by the host (player) and Superman is forever stuck in limbo. Luther wins!
So the plan was to put Supes inside a shitty game all along!? That’s about as terrible as the time that he took 40 cakes! That was as much as four tens, man!

Demonic influence aside, it's still a good game in terms of quality.
Also, it apparently only becomes satanic when you draw a Sharpie pentagram inside the case, surround it with shelves of hundreds of shitty games, record the gameplay footage in level 2-5, and then play the footage backwards. And even then, it only starts levitating and insulting your mother *some* of the time.

This may be weird, but I always feel a little bit of anxiety when I see him destroying a video game. Like, I really hope that's not his only copy (which I doubt it ever is).
@@michaelkopischke8072 Most times it's a reproduction cart, or one that is broken and probably beyond repair or just a hollow shell, etc.... Or an edit and it isn't actually destroyed. He doesn't actually destroy real, functional games. I mean in this one is obviously not real like come on xD

While I partially agree with the sentiment here. I, too, would actually like to see numbered episodes again, it would actually limit discovery. Nobody is going to click "Episode 254" of a series they've never seen before on RUclips, but when a new viewer clicks on a video under the assumption that it is a one-shot (and most, if not all, Nerd episodes can act as one-shots), it makes it more accessible to new viewers. So - kind of on the fence, but ultimately disagree. Modern Nerd should not number the titles... maybe put the number in the description?
