Dom was my first "gundam" back when I was a kid, but I lost it in a random local store because I bring it almost anywhere I can. I'm very happy that I can get him again, but now as an adult ❤️
I actually was pretty excited for this 1.5 since I really do like the OG MG Dom. For sure the articulation isn't that great but hey, it's a Dom, however the fact they still haven't really fixed the issue with the shoulders alongside the fact that they didn't think of including at least a base adapter for it does kinda suck. Plus, it really does feel like it took up a slot for another MG. All in all, I don't particularly hate this kit, as I can appreciate the fact that even as old as the Dom is I do still think it has a place and this little upgrade set is a good choice, but I honestly wish we still could have gotten some more out of it.
It’ll look great with the Zaku II 2.0, the Gouf 2.0 and the Gelgoog 2.0. And I’d rather have this than an $85+ Dom 2.0 kit. The 1999 Dom was well ahead of its time, and I feel like this shores it up with the mid 2000s lineup of kits. I do wish the machine gun and Raketen Bazooka got a newer cleaner mold though. I think that’s my main complaint. Here’s hoping Bandai takes this approach to some of the other older kits to keep the price more approachable, would love an updated Rick Dias, or a Zaku I derived from the Zaku II 2.0 frame.
It works for me tho. I've been wanting the 1999 Dom for a while, and these upgrades are worth it to me since I don't already own one. However, I can understand it being useless to someone who already owns the 1999 ver

Personally out of the MG I’ve ordered this year, I think this is one of my more favorable builds. Built the eclipse last week then went straight to the Rick dom and I honestly like the dom more.

This kit was actually my very first MG, which was, interesting. The shoulders continue to drive me up a wall, and the knee armor feels fairly, really loose, but that hip assembly... Oh my God that hip was lovely to build.
i got to say it has more leg articulation then i thought it would have, to be fair the thing only slides around rather then actually ''walking'' so it dose not need zaku 2 level articulation.
The original dom honestly still holds up... I prefer the hands of it too! I dunno, the 1.5 seems kind of pointless to me, I'd say that the rick dom is the kit to get if you want an updated dom, just for those beautiful thruster units. That makes more sense to me than this release. I have to begrudgingly agree on the bronze tier :(
