One day you may get to the other side and realize all the time and effort you wasted is gone forever and the world has moved on with out you (The rundown home that was once beautiful).

Someone in a comment below put it perfectly: "Tfw you’ve made your bed and must now lay in it but you can’t go back to sleep" -- So I guess that's exactly what Charls' bed symbolizes in the end. Holy fuck.

"How to not be ground down by the test-tube freaks and the bastards" - quote by Charls.
Can't feel regret if you don't ever admit how close you came to success. Just sit there and say "snake eyes" even when you were one point on the dice away from victory.

It’s okay to feel things bros. It’s okay to be genuine and to exist.
At first l didn't get it but the more you watch, the more you connect the pieces. To me it seems about denial. You realize it's too late to do anything and there are no do-overs, the regrets and time lost
Agreed. There's so many layers to it. Like another layer of meaning is depression caused by what u mentioned, thus the clip being b&w and him ending up in bed and just wanting to sleep forever, but there the regret and memories haunt him the most. I also think that everything we see until the bed scene is a recollection of the past during his sleep or while lying awake, which is why he's surrounded by all the sets. It's like he's stuck.
This is my interpretation: The obvious one is injustice against the innocent, tyranny. The man living in ignorance of the world going into shit and he realizes it at the end. The state turns against the people and rigs it against their success which breaks even the most strong-willed man. Government tells the small man to "roll a seven" to have a say to change things. (Wiki: "In gambling in general and the game of craps in particular, snake eyes is the outcome of rolling the dice in a game and getting only one pip on each die. The pair of pips resembles a pair of eyes, which is appended to the word snake because of the creature's long-standing association with *treachery and betrayal* .") He had the highest chances. He rolled "a five and a one" = Six. I know it's a pair of dice but it's symbolic of being so close yet so far. Good people are fucked over everywhere: In the law court, in prisons and even by the police and government. The realization that he's been living his whole life in ignorance makes him furious. Sleeping forever also means staying ignorant for a life, but going back to ignorance is impossible. You want to help yet you don't want others to experience the same torment that comes with it and it leaves one powerless. The world makes people consider killing for justice, but being a vigilante is unlawful. It's a carefully crafted maze. Going to bed forever also means death. All rightous people want to die fighting rather than die bedridden. Considering all this the title makes all the more sense: "The man who would never be what they made him to be." Somebody who just wants to tend his own garden (mind his own business) turns into someone full of vengeance and blood thirst. It shows another view of those who are labeled nuts by the media. It makes everyone sympathize with and understand the desperate who only wants justice, even if it means war and death which is the most honorful value. This value was lost a long time ago and I swear never existed under British/American rule. This is the true western value of Europe which makes it different from all of the world and shine and this brightess which drove us to present gave us very envious enemies who want this taken by any means necessary. W☮rld Peace is so undervalued. Its cancellation makes its name even more mocking and ironic. It deserves a cult following. Ever since I've found out about its existence I adored it and I still keep coming back to rewatch sketches. I bet my life that anyone that knows World Peace/MDE is in the right place at the right time. MDE is all fun and jokes but people with this mindset know they are stepping into a very special time of history and they are the ones who will make a brighter future for us. This show makes you believe. And those who cock blocked the show know it very well.

Who else would be more frustrated at people wasting life than death. Just what my high ass thinks 🤷🏻♂️
Tr;Dr : Maus sits on the bed after he is finsished singing, the same way chuck lays down after he finished haveing a tantrum. symbolic mimicing you know what too bro. I wanna mention the fact of a matter that is overlooked by almost everyone. even me, and i only just noticed it right now. Mr maus, after his frantic pattionate aberratious tormented screaming he too is subject to the notion of "to go to bed forever". i feel like this gesture is one of the most important symbolic ations in the entire sktech. the prisoner, when he meets his bed to become his resting place. is angered a furious. crashing around like a todder trantrum. even to the point of disdain for the only place he might ever find comfort. His bed. squandering years and years only to return to babyhood. his fury is rightoues. then, he falls into fatuge and goes to bed forever ( final sktech of the final episode) (WP2 isnt world peace 2) maus' actions mimic this. at the end of his pattionate screetching song. he lowers his head. he sits on the bed too. wather you howl at the moon in righteous rebelion of the law or weather you ball and temper like a baby with filled diper the final product is the same you will go to bed forever i dont think nihilism is the point of the sketch. i dont think thats what was intented. but of course this sktech is a portral of nihilishtic beahiviour. and the troubles that trail such a beahavioiur i think maus succoming to this same nihlisim (even temporarly, as he only sits on the bed. he does not fully lay in the bed like chuck does) sends the message from the wirter/director that this sence of wasted time and exaustion from the prospect of lawful desintergration of the world is natureal for all people. not just wasted men, but artist and business men alike. maybe this view point is too nehislistc... but i want to feel that everyone can feel powerless or that life is not only fleeting but purposeless. yet we all know that (mystically) this worthless thing is valube because of that very nature. the fact that life had no true aim or that life will not last forever is a somewhat inspireing idea because no matter how hard you fucked it up. you can always wake up tomorrow. i suppose your time will eventaully run out, but then... what does it matter? what? youre going to feel bad when youre dead? nah bro. you will only feel bad when youre alive. and for that matter. you will only feel anything at all while youre alive. Edit: i also notice light behind maus head in the very last shot. symbolic of a "enlighted mind"? idk...
His seemingly fragile state of mind throughout the entire run of World Peace only makes this moment even greater, for once Charls isn’t acting like a deranged lunatic, his performance is actually really good

the dice scene is the most telling. pretending this isn't happening but also gambling on terrible odds just to make it stop. cognitive dissonance won't change how you really feel, or what's really going on, it just forces you into a situation where you're playing someone else's game on their terms.

A real pity this show was cancelled. A genuine pity. This, I felt, was a continuation of real, modern comedy. Tim and Eric Awesome Show was low-key extremely influential and it touched everything for better or worse. World Peace was finally breaking that. It took situational, contextual fun and silliness that made T&E popular but was underpinned with depth and meaning. There was feeling, there was mood, the comedy came from a need of cathartic release. World Peace was exactly the right direction that the world needed to go in to be better, and I'm not just talking comedy. This wasn't just content, it was art. It cared.
I hear world peace might return since I heard Sam might bring it back in a form of a part 2. He had like ideas for it planned that I saw in a stream clip. I am kinda glad Sam is getting more recognition after the idubbbz documentary. He is pretty much one of the last bastions of edgy/dark comedy.
I was just released from prison 3 days ago and this hits harder then the total amount of grief I experienced being locked up 5 years. I am 31 now. Lack of tolerance helps to create extremism. If people aren't even allowed to participate honestly in society and voice their opinions or converse with others without getting crucified, then they all hide it and become rightfully spiteful. If moderate is viewed as extreme through the lens of society, then there is no longer a boundary to maintain to stay in society. It's already been crossed, and I am already cast out. There is an African proverb that says, "A child that is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth." Spend 10 minutes playing video games or in a youtube comment section or in real life, and you see there's a large undertow of views that people can't have on public record because they'll get fucked even if they've proven to be a regular contributing member of society.

Based on something Sam covers on nicks stream. He talks about tiny actions that burn up years of your time because you didnt want to think about them. willfully. when you were given the opportunity and urgency to take something seriously enough to double think it in that split second.
What's funny is if this had come out a few years later not only would AS have been okay with the Cop Killer song, they probably would've used it in ads and stuff.
Has it been six years since this aired? It feels like only a day has passed. MDE was destroyed, butchered, and slandered. Its fate shows you can't afford to be creatively honest in today's Mickey Mouse world if you want to be successful. Not just creatively. You can't become anything if you want to remain true to yourself. I thought MDE captured the spirit of a generation of ostracized young men, but we know the powers that be don't care about any of that.
Only 6 episodes of World Peace, not nearly enough, but those 6 episodes have more depth than all of Tim and Eric's work combined. World Peace 2 may be coming soon. I hope to God Charls will be a part of it.

When was the last time a TV show ever made you feel something? Adult Swim didn't cancel a show, they destroyed one of the greatest pieces of art ever made.
While I agree with the message of wasting your life as a teen and young adult and being utterly distraught over it years later; there's also an angle in here relating to addiction I feel. It's pretty much the same thing as what I just mentioned, but being so absorbed and destroyed by an addiction - alcohol, meth, porn, gambling etc - that you finally reel it back in with a 12 step program or something of the like and just realize the damage that has been done to your life and those around you. John Maus' haunting chorus "against the law" being a constant and sharp reminder that what you're doing is going against the very laws of the universe that God has laid down (thou shall not kill) as you obliterate your own life via addiction and become a slave to something. You cannot see anything else and live only for that vice. Insane sketch.
Truly incredible sketch. Charls's writing, Ruse's direction, and John Maus's music culminate into something wholly meaningful and gushing with beauty. Hope we get to see more like this from MDE in WP2 and beyond.
You guys who think hey moon fits better than cop killer are nuts!!!!! Just look at the interaction and emotion between Charles and John at the end of the skit, it fits about as perfectly as any two things that could be put together!!!!!
minus anything that was part of Twin Peaks, this was the greatest thing ever aired on television it's absolutely astonishing how a group of guys who aren't completely detached from reality like Lynch is could create something exactly as unearthly as what he makes is
2:47 the look on his face and that gutwrenching scream. Such a poignant, vivid shot that describes my inner state at this time quite perfectly. Perfect. Literally the most accurate representation of bottled up rage in that 2 seconda
I wish that I could personally give the guy that lost the audio of John singing a very firm and earnest handshake. The kind of handshake that gives a stunning impression, one he wouldn't soon forget.
This, and some of the other sketches in MDE are among the best I have ever seen in a TV show. This one in particular stuck with me ever since I first saw it.
I think a part of what's going on here is that the character in white is the prisoner's potential self had he not let himself down and gone to prison. The man in white is a representation of the "life unlived" and he is screaming at the prisoner for not taking himself seriously, reminding him what he could have been. This could be in the literal sense that the prisoner could have been a singer of some sort (the two character rather look alike don't they) or it might simply mean that he never got to express his creative humanity in general. 3:15 looks like the singer is literally pleading him - why? At least that's what I read from this. Leave it to a comedy show to hit you with some FEELS outta nowhere, damn.
Wtf I've had this song on a chopped and screwed cassette forever and never knew who it was by or that it was in an mde sketch. Been watching a lot of those newer podcast clips with Sam and Nick lately and so this is just wild. Nice
The guard gave him the best chance possible to win: 14 ²⁄₇ %, that's the probability of rolling a 6, a 7 or an 8. Had he told him to roll a 2, a 3, a 12 or an 11 and his chances woul've been cut down to 4 ¹⁶⁄₂₁ %. Still fucked up in any case. However, you don't win if you don't play, y'know.
i didn't watch World Peace during its original run, so this edit of this sketch is top. I like Hey Moon but Cop Killer suits the angst of a life wasted
I know there is a provocative, performance art element to their work, but I still feel like I’m not fully in on the joke. I don’t know what they actually stand for, I can just see them pointing out sacred cows. While I do generally feel confused more than anything by MDE, this sketch has connected with me deeply from the time I first saw it. Probably come back to it several times a year. I guess I’m fairly neurotic about wasting my life, and I think this articulates that fear beautifully. The idea that you wouldn’t even realise you’d wasted it until it’s too late, because you thought the tiny box you lived in was freedom. Man I have work tomorrow why did I watch this before trying to sleep 😂
It’s about not giving in to the person they try to make you in life, the box they try to put you in, although your in a prison outside of your power you won’t fold to become what you’re not, not letting them know how bad you are hurting not showing weakness, hence the anger shown alone in the last scene
If WP2 does actually get made, it'll really suck not having Charls. It's obvious that he wrote the best sketches and was the best actor in the production. No other sketch from any show ever hit this hard.
World Peace was a good show. It sucks that the show was canceled due to false allegations of it tieing with the alt right even tho sam hyde is apolitical. I had hopes that mde would have intrest doing world peace again without adult swim after a few years but i don't see that happening. I heard they had plans on doing a season 2 but because of adult swim canning sam's show, it was scrapped. Sam hyde could try and publish the script or leaked footage on what would have been the second season in the future. World peace, officer maggot, kickstartertv is one my favorite things from sam hyde tbh.
This clip hit different. I was valedictorian at my school but I grew up getting bounced around from foster to foster and like the stereotype goes I started doing drugs. One snowboarding injury and an oxycontin prescription later that after a year and a half the doctor cut without tapering me down and I was facing the worst mental physical and spiritual pain I could possibly imagine so I turned to heroin. This led me to getting caught up onto some petty s*** even though it was my first offense they maxed me out after being processed in jail and then at level three sortational facility in Lorain Ohio where they put me into drug program that would have seen me get out early but the program lost funding two days prior to me getting released. I got shipped to Richland which shares the yard with the old shut down Mansfield reformatory which is where they filmed the Shawshank redemption. I didn't join any gangs because if you're white the only options you have are two skinhead groups that are only slightly different and the prospect of walking around on the streets afterwards with swazis on my forearms did not seem appetizing. After I got out shortly after this bullshit pandemic happened so I went from one from of isolation to another. We could be masters of the universe but instead we are slaves to a paycheck and a tiny glass screen waiting to die and throwing our money at any fragments of nostalgia or sense of masculinity it has been curated for us to consume. We trade our self-respect and our futures for groups of people who squander them even worse than we did. But hey at least this is all just a simulation right.

MDE is all fun and jokes but people with this mindset know they are stepping into a very special time of history and they are the ones who will make a brighter future for us. john maus standing over the thrashing and tormented man singing to him as if he's absorbing all of his pain and dread and throwing it back to him with his voice. what an image. to me it's like john is angry and sad for the man but is reprimanding him at the same time. this is art to me
I kind of get the feeling like he’s an alternate form of death aka the grim reaper here except he’s frustrated at having to show up to so many peoples lives to take them away to find out they wasted it. Who else would be more frustrated at people wasting life than death. Just what my high ass thinks 🤷🏻♂️

Tr;Dr : Maus sits on the bed after he is finsished singing, the same way chuck lays down after he finished haveing a tantrum. symbolic mimicing
you know what too bro.
His bed. squandering years and years only to return to babyhood. his fury is rightoues.
then, he falls into fatuge and goes to bed forever ( final sktech of the final episode) (WP2 isnt world peace 2)
maus' actions mimic this. at the end of his pattionate screetching song. he lowers his head. he sits on the bed too.
wather you howl at the moon in righteous rebelion of the law
or weather you ball and temper like a baby with filled diper
the final product is the same
you will go to bed forever
i dont think nihilism is the point of the sketch. i dont think thats what was intented.
but of course this sktech is a portral of nihilishtic beahiviour. and the troubles that trail such a beahavioiur
i think maus succoming to this same nihlisim (even temporarly, as he only sits on the bed. he does not fully lay in the bed like chuck does) sends the message from the wirter/director that this sence of wasted time and exaustion from the prospect of lawful desintergration of the world is natureal for all people. not just wasted men, but artist and business men alike.
maybe this view point is too nehislistc... but i want to feel that everyone can feel powerless or that life is not only fleeting but purposeless.
yet we all know that (mystically) this worthless thing is valube because of that very nature.
the fact that life had no true aim or that life will not last forever is a somewhat inspireing idea
because no matter how hard you fucked it up. you can always wake up tomorrow.
i suppose your time will eventaully run out, but then... what does it matter? what? youre going to feel bad when youre dead? nah bro. you will only feel bad when youre alive.
and for that matter. you will only feel anything at all while youre alive.
Edit: i also notice light behind maus head in the very last shot. symbolic of a "enlighted mind"? idk...
I interpreted it as John is a physical representation of the prisoner's self conscious, screaming at him for how bad he messed up, like a tormenter.
Haunting, sticks with me every day. Such a crime that they stole 100 more episodes from us.

It cared.
Indeed a pity.
The biggest scandal is how AS is memory holing it, like as if it never existed.
This is possibly the best written explanation of what this show was and could have been and summarizes how we all felt about it deep down.

Did anyone notice that the bed frame reads “Go To Bed Forever?”

I never “got” MDE humor for a long time. Now that I understand they’re not all supposed to be funny, I really enjoy watching the sketches.
This masterpiece introduced me to John Maus who has been my favorite musical artist for the past several years.
It’s about not giving in to the person they try to make you in life, the box they try to put you in, although your in a prison outside of your power you won’t fold to become what you’re not, not letting them know how bad you are hurting not showing weakness, hence the anger shown alone in the last scene
