I don't think Luis Vasquez (The Soft Moon) said anything about the the matter either. He didn't cuck out and denounce MDE. But he didn't give a positive statement like John Maus. In other words, he was a professional and I can respect that.
@@hugochavez1287 Oh really? I can definitely respect that, he’s got his own career to look out for but also didn’t bow down to the cancel culture crowd. I know Chastity Belt come out with the strongest statement but to be honest I’m amazed they’re work was even used.
@@nervesinapattern7261 yeah. I got into The Soft Moon because of the Erick Hayden sketch on MDE World Peace and given the themes and tone of Vasquez's music, I think he's the artist that most "gets it" when it comes to Sam Hyde's comedy and life philosophy.
@@hugochavez1287 for sure Try fits that sketch perfectly. it’s shame world peace is canceled, I discovered some great music from the show and would still be if they were still producing the it.
World Peace was a once in a generation type of show. Credit to Sam, Nick, and Charls, for making something so unique and so boundary pushing. Shame everyone but John Maus and a few others denounced the show, it coulda brought adult swim to an entirely new level of comedy/experimental media...guess Off the Air is the only thing to look forward to now there.
They introduced me to john maus and soft moon. CEO eric is how I learned about soft moon which is currently my favorite band and has been for many years. Did Softmoon denounce MDE? The Hey Moon sketch gives me goosebumps honestly. It's really disturbing and upsetting but the message is fantastic. It's crazy to see something so dreadfully real in a show like this and the music fits so well
How could anyone watch that last sketch "the man who would never be... what they made him to be", and say to themselves "yeah we need to cancel this nazi garbage". Its like they didn't even watch it😢🤕
Here's a direct quote from Chastity Belt in their response to MDE's cancellation: "We do not support the hateful ideas spread by the MDE comedy group. Honestly, we haven’t watched an episode of World Peace..." Most of the cunts responsible for cancel culture operate entirely on hearsay and emotional appeal, it's fucking disgusting.
Cop Killer was better and will remain canon in my mind. They were all very great picks otherwise, too bad they were too spineless to stick to their guns.
Hey moon fits lyrically a lot better than cop killer and the clips are even edited to match the drum beats at certain points. Just because it wasn't their first pick doesn't mean it didn't work out just fine.
To be honest, I prefer "Hey Moon" for this scene - "Cop Killer" sounds appropriate but the sound is just... off. "Hey Moon" captures the despondent essence of this sketch.

It's actually kind of a funny subtle troll in retrospect they had all these lefty indie bands play for what ended up a pretty explicitly anti-woke (or w.e term you'd use in 2016) show
Yeah I think they genuinely did like all the bands. Pretty sure John Maus is friends with at least Charls. With music you just have to except the fact that most of the artists will be telling you to Vote Blue No Matter Who. It's just annoying when a band like Andrew Jackson Jihad (who were always liberal even in their music, but they were mostly pretty good) become so controlled by their politics that they change their name to AJJ (because Andrew Jackson was bad and we can't have Jihad in our name because we're not muslim) and all of a sudden their music is fucking unlistenable lol.
