I hope you are excited to try this innovative new brewing technique!
We need ratios!
the beauty of this method is that ratios are infinitely changeable, with little or no consequence to the final result. but if you had to push me on it, i'd recommend starting at 1:♾
Haha, I fully expected to be pissed at someone for just stealing James’ content for lazy monetary gain. But Omg, you did an amazing job editing multiple videos. Beautifully done. Absolutely got a laugh out of me. I’m gonna move on and check out more of your videos. Very well done.
"I spent 17 years of my coffee career trying to make coffee taste as good as ... water. "
Just LOL
... And he finally cracked it! Never give up on your dreams.
One unique bonus to this brewing method is that you can reuse your coffee over and over. Very economic!
Absolutely!
That's something rich people like Hoffmann would never do
The internet has peaked
Somehow, I think that "hooray" is going to be featured more on this channel.
I'll try not to over-use it.... hooray!
@@hoffmanncometh I love it! Use as often as you want! hooray! XD
Dammit I want it as a phone notification tone. A little "Hooray!' every time.
@@hoffmanncomethNot possible to use it too much. Hooray!
@@hoffmanncomethit could literally be an edit of just the one word and it could still do with more "hooray"
You're telling me all this time I could brew water completely avoiding coffee? Thanks Dustin Hoffman!
You learn something everyday eh! At least as revolutionary as the invention of espresso itself.
@@hoffmanncometh great now I have to worry about underextracting my water
The "hooray" and "NO" are my favourite little touches
Glad you like them :)
Love me some disgusting, soluble flavors.
This is a ytp, which is a compliment
Thank you! Gotta love YTP's
I don't know why i assumed it wasn't intended to be a ytp, but either way i have now watched all of them and Hooray!
these edits are unbelievably clean
Appreciate it!
Another wonderful one. 60g of water is the future.
Excellent! Such purity of concept, a fully-distilled idea with crisp crystal-clear execution; rehydrating for the soul!
Kind words!
This is one of your absolute best, bravo!
Glad you think so. Hooray!
NO!
I can hear this one.
9 seconds in and I'm already laughing out loud. Good water truly does taste amazing, doesn't it? 😂
Especially when poured in close proximity to fresh coffee
The end had me laughing- "I hope you have an under-extracted day!"
These are fantastic
Thanks!
I've been having Underextracted Days by the plenty ever since the Hoffman cometh
Excellent news! Good to hear
I love this method. I still use a new filter for each cup, I love the taste of fresh paper, but this might just be me.
I agree! Feel free to shred some small pieces of the paper and mix in with the bypass water for a bit more body and texture
what if you'll add lemon and honey?
Sounds dangerously close to being a tea
@hoffmanncometh a shot of caramel wouldn't hurt though surely
I think I need a grinder upgrade for this one
Probably a good idea!
Oh man, this was a dangerous video to watch, since I had some surgery a few days ago and laughing puts tension on the wound. But I couldn't resist. No worries, the stitches are still there. And I was in stitches too...
I am the danger.
First of all, absolutely brillant editing. I know that was not easy. Second, either all the audio was painstakingly normalized in post or you guys have an amazing pre-production workflow to prepare the audio levels! Either way, well done!
Does anyone know what om doing wrong? The last few times ive tried this, i kept ending up with wine after the bypass brew. (except for one time when it turned into Baja Blast)
Try these 2 things: make sure the coffee grind size is 4 times finer than Turkish, and the water is exactly 10 degrees centigrade. This should help.
Did you try the technique at large crowd gatherings like weddings, big dinners with friends or after visiting a temple? If so, you may want to think about contract work for one of the big water utilities companies in your area.
But how does it differ from "no brewing" technique explored by Hames Joffmann?
I haven't seen that particular Hames video, so cannot comment on specifics. But this technique relies on proprietary equipment and extremely low expectations.

I believe this method dabbles in existentialism (question mark?) and really long waiting. Not necessarily extraction, just waiting
this was so funny i almost spat out my delicious refreshing crystal clear 100% bypass coffee
Glad you enjoyed it!
Literally lolling right now sent this to my two friends who dont like coffee but I know I nerd out about it
Spread the word of great 100% bypass coffee!
my water tasted like water this morning (hooray!)
Good to hear! You have obviously perfected the technique
@@hoffmanncometh yes! you have to let it bloom
Truly and utterly brilliant.
Thank you!
this may be his finest work yet
I've used this method for years with a small modification: I submerge some tea leaves in the drink before serving it. Highly recommeded!
Fascinating!
I’m intrigued. Can you recommend a brewer that can accomplish 100% bypass? Can the coffee grounds be reused? If so, how many times?
There isn't one commercially available yet - details on my custom design coming soon
If I under-extract a 100%bypass brew, does it start tasting of coffee again?
I think it turns to vapour and floats away
H²O so good
H²Offmann
why would you square the hydrogen?
this is hillarious
Oh my god the sentence mixing in this is on another level entirely, love it!
Hooray, thank you!
Hysterical! I love it.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you
Best one yet. This is incredible 😂
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it
This method also works perfectly with ice. Whenever I have leftover hot water, I freeze it in cubes to use later.
Great tip!
Genius! Can't wait to try this at home!
Have fun!
Finally, coffee I can enjoy!
Hooray!
As someone who doesn't like coffee, this coffee brewing technique is perfect for me!
Hooray! I'm glad to hear you can still enjoy the experience, without the actual coffee getting in the way!
Finally, a brewing method I can get behind.
Hooray!
Had me in uncontrollable chuckles for minutes on end.❤
Marvellous to hear!
One of the best so far!
Thanks - I appreciate it!
If I understand it correctly, this way I can make my tea using my coffee? That opens a completely new universe...
I don't see why not! Thinking outside of the box.. I like it.
Ok, I've got this video in my feed and it took me longer than I'm willing to admit, just to realize this is a joke. Well done
glad you liked it! (and sorry for nearly fooling you)
“And i hope you have an underextracted day”
The looped opened/closed mouth at the end of the video has me feeling a little bit excited down below.
It certainly is a special moment
by the end you’ve had me sincerely laughing :) wonderful edit, thank you! :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
I've watched this so many times now
This makes me happy. Thank you!
oh, this is so good, the way you made these snippets connect
Thanks - I appreciate it!
100% bypass filter like water... You definitely have an under extracted day too
This is smooth af. Nice job
Thanks! I appreciate it
You should have saved this one for April 1st.
I love it!
For some reason this is funnier than it should be!
Again the last bit. Its just... I am speechless. This is a masterpiece. Even though i was completly sure you would include bits from the clear coffee drinks series!!!
Thank you for the very kind words!
Perfect for the coffee haters in your life.
Absolutely! Think of all the money you will save
Superb 👌
Thank you! Cheers!
the dustin hoffman edit hit me like a golf club to the face
He had some very wise words to say for sure!
Absolutely fantastic :D
Thank you! Cheers!
This is spectacularly funny, thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
Damn, this is smooth. The edit, I mean, but the 100% water coffee, too, probably.
Thanks! The final result is as smooth as it gets. Simply delicious.
Ahhh, this is exceptional! Thanks for the laugh!
Thank you for watching!
A work of art! 😀
It goes to show this man could read a newspaper and make it sound weirdly calming and reassuring. Dispite the obserdity it still is fine.
(I had an injury rosay and kost a lost of blood. Im fine but sorry for the typis)
I hope you have a speedy recovery!
I'm actually in tears
of joy, I hope. Not dismay.
Wow, it really is there!
Amazing
:)
thank you so much!!! i always liked coffee, but not the taste of it, so now i can drink coffee that tastes as good as water!
I'm glad you enjoyed it. A versatile brewing method indeed!
Amazing.
Thanks!
I watch James Hoffmann just to know the context for these edits
Now that's dedication! Thank you
Finally a method to get my sweet, pure water past the coffee without it becoming gross and brown. This is inovation at its finest.
I'm glad you think so! Enjoy your cup of delicious water!
Finally, i can achieve my wildest underextraction dreams. 100% underextraction! I’m about to have the grittiest, most underextracted day ever!
Have fun!
Honestly my favourite cup of coffee.
More like something for the first day in April. Nice thing about it is that you can use hot or cold water. Or even milk if you wish.
Very true!
Thank you, Maurice the Frenchman!
You're most welcome!
I have tried this technique and confirm the result was under extracted: so on my second attempt I ground the water first (this wasn’t clear in the video). It will take trial and error to find the correct grind size, although my grinder made a loud bang and stopped working on the third attempt.
Hmmm... Might be worth trying the George Clooney droplet technique
Instructions nuclear
I had 1% TDS
Your hands may have been contaminated with some fines when you carried the water in your closed fists. Grind finer so the coffee atomises into the air, and won't stick to your skin when handled.
@@hoffmanncometh For finer I will need the stone grinder of Lance, don't have the money
Reminds me of the shit post where a guy used an espresso machine to brew bypass coffee.
Do they have a subscription pod for this method?
Not yet - but watch this space!
Finally, a coffee that I, a non-coffee drinker, can enjoy
Absolutely!
Under extracted was too kind for hoffman H²O
I'm dying, it's so good
If you follow the 100% bypass method, you will live forever (note: not proven)
oh this is so good
Thank you
this is gold
Very kind - thank you!
damn bro this one hits
Cheers!
omg i thought this was real for a second there.
This is the best video on youtube
So very kind of you to say.
i'm not crying, you're crying!!!
Epic! 😂
Glad you think so :)
Damn, you almost got me…
Good one.
? This is a 100% valid brew method that not only saves you money , but also is great for people that don't like coffee!
Thats some high quality H20.
Absolutely!
Homeopathic coffee. We should have seen this coming.
This is the only clickbait I approve.
How expensive of a brewer do I need to buy to get the best 100% bypass coffee?
At the moment you have to hack the solution yourself. I will be soon releasing plans for my own official method...
hooray!
Genius! So so funny!
Glad you liked it :)
I think I can master this technique. thanks!
Perfect! Enjoy your journey into aa whole new brewing experience.
