Well done! Did you do your side vents as well? I'd love to see that process too. I'm waiting for my factory ordered 2023 XLT regular cab short bed to come in and that truck comes covered in chrome which I can't stand. Body color matching all of the chrome (with satin black accents) will be the very 1st mod I do...well the badging and grill, at least. I'll probably have the bumpers done professionally since they are much larger and can't hide my flaws.
@@AndrewDoesLife i have 2011 f150 but my badges don't come apart. can i buy 2020 f150 badges and take them apart like you did and paint them. i also have tailgate camera. thanks. nice work
If you decide to use a drill again use a drill bit about the size of the rivet head and just give it a quick burst from the drill head will snap right off. Dremel works good too tho.
Do you have to use primer if you are a using fusion paint. I thought the fusion paint will fuse with the plastic and I am thinking the primer will create a bearer.
That is so bad @$$ bro. I knew there had to be a way those came apart. I have a white 04 F150, what colors would you recommend for mine, should I do a “tuxedo” black & white, or maybe some grey since my interior is grey? Man thanks so much for this, I’m your newest subscriber as of now lol.
@Andrewdoeslife, I was going through this process... all was proceeding as normal. I used Painter's 2x gloss black on the chrome. Glass like finish, was very happy. Then I sprayed the Spectral Paints Clear Coat and it totally ruined the finish and looks all bubbly. It went on the other parts just fine. Have you ever heard of that happening?
Hey Bob, unfortunately, I have heard of that happening. Sometimes different brands don’t interact well with each other or if you apply the clear coat before the base is dry it’ll bubble up like that. Sorry to hear about that 😔👎🏻
How would you recommend going about painting the Ford lettering red but painting the rings that are on that part black. Wanting to do an all black emblem with just the lettering red
I don’t know if those break apart like the newer models do. I would imagine older models have a one piece badge that would be more difficult to break apart and paint
Do you have a part number for these emblems. I’ve looked all over, and am unable to find on. Want to get one and see how it goes. Mines a 2021. Thanks.
Thanks for making this video…gave me the push to DIY this instead of buying one already done. 👍🏻👍🏻
Happy to help! It’s a pretty straight forward process and definitely DIY-able! Haha
If you are finding that the paint is peeling off over time, it is recommended to use an adhesion promotor (Bulldog is one) over plastic parts.

The emblems came out nice!🎉
Thank you very much!
Wow, the finished badge looks amazing, thanks for the video!
Thank you so much! Glad you liked it 😊

2:05 time travel does exist.
Bro EXACTLY what I was looking for. Well Done!

Hi Tim! That’s a good point, but after I butchered the first logo I’m a little hesitant to use a drill bit again on these fragile little logos haha
underrated video
I appreciate that 🙏🏻
When you did the back badge, how was it to take off? And the 3m sticky tape, did you reuse it or have to apply new?

where did you get the fill letters from on your tail gate? looks amazing sir.
Thanks for this video, I’ll be working my emblems the same way on my ‘21 XLT Sport!
Heck yeah!
Nice video man and great instructions thanks!
That came out great!!!
Thanks Samuel! I think so too 😊

Thanks Vladimir! I appreciate that
My 2006 F-150 emblem is a single piece, does not come apart. Paint recommendations for something I can apply with a brush?

Can you tell apart the difference between the lead foot gray paint you use from the original? Thanks
Bro... Nailed it‼
Thank you!!
Dang, that’s sharp!
Just curious if you’ve got the link for the clear coat. I can’t find them on Amazon.
Good detailed video!! how long did this whole process take you??

AMAZING video!!! Thank you very much for sharing!!!
Thank you Jonathan!! I’m glad you liked it
Awesome video. Great job!!
How about doing one with a rear camera?
Did you sand the emblem pieces before spraying the paint?
Yea I did. I believe I mentioned that in the video, I used 220 grit
You never put it on though?

Thanks Mitch! For my first time ever trying something like this I’m pretty happy with how it turned out! 👍🏻

He just broke down the entire process. Where were you?
Looks great!
Thank you!!
Can u paint the badges on a 1997 f150

Nice bro
Thanks dude! I am definitely going to be doing more projects like this in the future!
Great job!
Thank you!!
Looks good
Thanks Marvin! Lowkey think the badge looked the best when it had the primer on it 😂

Take your VIN to your dealer and have them look it up.
Game changer.
Haha thank Jonathan! Hope it helps !
Love your videos
Thanks for all your support Jonas !!
Why? The classic Ford badge is... Classic.
That's pretty extensive
AWESOME!!!
Thank you!
I tried to do my 2011 F-150 XLT emblems LOL Fail! They were cheap and don’t separate…
2014+ separate, 09-14 do not
Do you sell them?
No sir
💯
Thanks Erik 🔥🔥
I'm just gonna plasti dip mine, much easier lol
lol! Definitely way less time and labor intensive for sure!
😀👍
DROMAL😂😂
Your bursty technique of paint application was both painful and terrifying to watch.
😂😂
@@AndrewDoesLife The finished product did come out nicely however. Thats all that matters. Well done!
Thank you Brandon!
