    Thanks for this! Currently learning the 172 in-game and always appreciate the insight and guidance.

    Another great video SoCal Flyer. Thanks for being my checklist CFI in the flight sim world. Always fun having more fun. The realism is most cool indeed!

    This was very informative. As I’ve been interested in eventually getting a real Cessna 172, as they’re very reliable aircraft especially if taken care of. And getting a well taken care of and properly maintained Cessna 172 from the 70’s or even 80’s is cheaper than brand new. I also have finally gotten my PC built, as I built it myself. Planning on resubscribing to Game Pass Ultimate. I assume that’s done via the Microsoft Store? As I was on the Series X for several years, so I’m relatively new to how Game Pass will work on PC. I had a gaming laptop before but it died after 3 years of gaming in War Thunder at 95°C and I used my Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and used the Xbox App. I’d prefer not to use that this time. I went with an i3 12100f and an MSI RTX 3050 8GB.

    If I can remember this, could I technically fly a plane during a zombie outbreak? Don't be critical. Imagine me having thousands of houses on a flight sim. I just don't know how to start it up, but I do know throttle and flaps.

      Probably not. There’s technical knowledge necessary when it comes to flying a plane. Anyone can do it, but going in with zero experience will probably end up poorly for you.

    Is there a ''regular'' 172 in this flight sim, I mean, with a traditionnal cockpit, no GPS or screens?

    • @socalflyer430
      @socalflyer430  10 месяцев назад

      There aren’t any 172’s without a gps that come with the default simulator. There are probably some 3rd party add on planes that you could find though.

    im confused. the display doesnt turn on

    • @socalflyer430
      @socalflyer430  Год назад +5

      I assume you’re talking about the second screen on the right (MFD). The screen will turn on when you click the white avionics switches next to the red master switch. We usually want to leave it off until after starting the engine because it uses a lot of power and we don’t want to drain the battery (kind of like leaving the overhead light on in your car). This video only shows the procedure up until the engine start itself which is why that step is never covered. Cheers

    My problem is I do not understand how to get the buttons to engage or the Diles to engage it looks like I have the items but I can’t really control them. For instance, I have the switches I have that and physical switches but I can’t do the other items.

    no fuel pump? what is the purpose of the switch if you dont use it on start up?

    • @socalflyer430
      @socalflyer430  Год назад

      in the case of a cold engine you can use the fuel pump switch to prime the engine prior to engaging the starter. It also comes in handy in the case of an emergency you can use the switch to help keep the fuel flowing through the system

    • @llellio
      @llellio 7 месяцев назад

      Cessnas are gravity fed fuel systems. Fuel pump can be used for engine priming or as a backup.
