I wouldn't mind seeing a grass runway takeoff. MO24 near Craig, MO to KFNB in Falls City, NE. Your Cessna would fit the bill just perfect. Its a short, pleasant flight.

When you get instructions from the tower to taxi to a certain stand when you get to the correct parking area you will see a ground crew member to guide you to the brakes on spot. Nice video, thanks.
To avoid dealing with those annoying ground crew pushback guys, always start your flight at the fuel box. They don’t appear at the fuel box of any airport, even when you engage the pushback from the fuel box.
The most difficult to program is a human object coz he's so unpredictable
Couple suggestions for better landings:
-Pitch for speed, power for altitude...you seem to switch it up there, ie. pulling out power to reduce speed and pitch for altitude...
-Should be holding off touching the ground and hear the stall warning prior to the wheels touching the ground instead of plumping it down at 50 knots.
-I personally don't like the hi-speed downwind (100+ knots) until abeam the numbers, I'd try and maintain max 85 knots when in the pattern.

Thank you for this. I'm curious, you have rudder pedals for the sim, right? I don't and have to control rudder from the keyboard. It's a pain, as the C172 (and C152) drift horribly to the left during takeoff attempts.
If the aircraft pre rotates the wheels at rpm comparable to the speed of aircraft then there be no wear on the tires due to landing. Also the air speed can be used to power the wheels.

yes you can. I practiced a lot on flight sim (like start-up, approach etc.) Obviously it's still a whole lot different in the actual aircraft, but it does help with some things, especially procedures.
@@paddyj7690 how is it a whole lot different from the actual plane? Switches or gauges not working? Flight characteristics?
@@Ryan-Guerra the actual feeling, and by that I don't mean how amazing flying is. Just simply feeling the airplane. You can become a master at recovering from a spin on FS, but in real life it's a whole other ballgame when you include the sensation of spinning towards mother earth. That's only one example. But as I said, you can practice a lot on FS. Having peripherals like yoke, throttle, flaps and rudder pedals for your PC also helps with practicing taxiing, taking off, landing etc. But again, being in a real plane will feel quite a bit different.

Just a tip, in the s models we don’t introduce the mixture before setting. We wait until the engine itself fires then we add the mixture.
its probably for sim reasons, in real life you can have your left hand on the magneto switch and push the mixture with your right hand, whereas in the sim you would have to quickly swing your mouse over which you cant always do fast enough for the engine not to stall

@@holdenm1400 ATC rule, you need to take the clearance from tower to cross the runway. Stop short rules apply by default.

I’m noticing on a lot of reviewers that use this pulled back view of the pilot seat, it gives a fisheye view outside the windshield when you look in the distance. It’s really noticeable when you’re turning..have you noticed this?
WhiteKnuckle6.2 Yes I have, it’s a built in feature of the game. I believe it’s called “Smart Cam”. Its used to keep the camera focus on a landmark, i.e. an airport or city landmark.
Question for anyone. Flying this plane in the cockpit view, I cannot see the runway over the dash. I’ve tried different things but nothing changes.
Press the space bar. It will give you a slight elevated view over the nose.
Do you have to get the deluxe edition for this 172?

When I fly the 172 it has the g1000 but I don’t really like the g100 I love the classic look and I don’t know how to change it to this does anyone know how?

Not to be critical but according the skyvector.. Runway 04R is Right hand pattern. you turned left across departing planes takingoff on 04L

The 172 with analog instruments is only available with the premium deluxe version of MSFS2020. Hope this helps!

Hi, do you fly with a sidestick? And if so, what are your sensitivity settings in sim? My joystick is really sensitive when flying cessna and I would really like to know is it normal or, if not, mayby try to change sensitivity, so it would fly better.

I got my PPL on the G1000 C172 and I’m trying to rent planes to fly but every 172 has the old school avionics panel. I’m trying to practice on that one for navigation before I actually rent but idk how to get that panel, the default for me is always the G1000. Anyone know how to change it?
It comes with an upgraded version of MSFS. I forget which one. Looking at the MSFS website should help! Happy flying!

What computer/pc do you use? I want to get this simulator, but I don’t know what computer/pc to buy
I bought my PC from Jetline Systems. I have the Gravity GTX, with a 2080ti graphics card. To run the sim, you do NOT need a computer this expensive. I’d reference the minimum requirements to run the sim, and gif rom there. I wouldn’t recommend getting the minimum, but getting a couple levels above the minimum specs would suffice if you’re on a budget

It's not included in the standard version. To get it, you have to upgrade to at least the premium deluxe
Is there a fix to this... When taking off on the runway, my plane seems to always stray to far left or right and can be hard to keep it straight?

Whenever i rotate my Cessna just bumps up and down no idea why, it’s not as smooth as your take off it’s always jumpy even when doing patterns
If you're using a gamepad/xbox controller there is an issue in the game where it assigns the rudders to the triggers as on or off button presses, not axis like they should be. This can lead to very irratic yaw control if you hold consistent pressure yet the control seems like it intermittently spikes. As far as I know this isn't fixable and has to be addressed by microsoft. I've heard of a work around where you might be able to assign rudder control to the right stick since it's correctly programmed as an axis, but you'd have to figure out what to control your camera with.
If you're talking about pitch or roll and you use a pad the game is configured by default with really high sensitivity for the left stick. Might consider turning it down.

how do you start at parking???? it always starts me on runway with engines on
Click on the airport -> Set as Departure
Now on top of the Map, where the Departure Airport Name is, below that, you'll see a box where you can pick the runway or parking if they are available

My Cessna 172 loads in with electronic instruments on a large screen that are a bit overkill / overwhelming. How could I load in with “conventional ones” like yours? Ive been stuck using the 152 purely for the instruments haha

@@clivefellows8748 AFAIK the C172 with the deluxe edition doesn't include any DME equipment - or so I hear, so beware.
@@clivefellows8748 just watch a few videos on the g1000. You dont have to be a gifted superbrain to learn the ins and outs of a garmin!

Awesome man! My first instructor was Sam but he left for the airlines. I’ve flown with Zach several times!
The game seems to have missing or incorrect information on a lot of the checklists. I noticed by following the checklist exactly I can't get the 172 skyhawk started. It tells you to fully cut the mixture to start but if I put it to about 20% it will start. It took me forever to finally get the plane started.
Dr.FillyBlunt I don’t like to use the in game checklists for that very reason!

These aircraft remind me of Caranado aircraft with all the glitches.
Hopefully they'll update the aircraft to get rid of some glitches

I was into MSFS until I tried a short field landing. Pulling back the yoke for elevator braking below VR should not cause the a/c to wheelie. Crosswind t/o and landings will make the wings to slam into the runway. Totally unrealistic flight model.
You people are being bullies. FS can not be operated off a normal PC. What do you suggest.
In all honesty, I purchased my PC from Jetline systems and I love it. I would highly recommend them.

13. Check Oil Pressure is Rising and staying in the Green
14. Switch to Left Magneto (Check for Engine Misfire)
15. Switch to Right Magneto (Check For Engine Misfire)
16. Switch Back to Both

@@holdenm1400 Thanks man! I've been wondering why the hell they didn't include the steam gauge in the game and thought I was just gonna have to wait for a 3rd party to develop it. Guess it looks like I'm upgrading to premium deluxe! lol

They should let us buy planes from other versions at the store, instead of making us buy the whole upgrade
