Wow, straight to the point and easy to understand. I couldn't get the plane to follow the route but i missed the standby switch. You can scroll down the flight plan, or anything scroll-able just by hold click and swipe up or down. As its touch screen IRL and you would swipe it IRL as well. Super useful tutorial. Thanks!

    A few observations :
During your Set-up, in the performance page, weight & fuel, confirm all your tabs, including Fuel On Board (FOB) sync. then, in the take off section, you can cycle through the tabs and it will compute your speed bugs for you.
Also, you.can set your auto throttle for take off by selecting FMS mode on the IAS knob on the Master control panel ; from the MFD GTC, open your flight plan page, select VNAV, and you can choose your climb, cruise & descent profiles or just punch in a manual FMS speed.
Once.lined up, with throttles at idle, arm the auto throttle by pushing the recessed AT push-button on the throttles . ( causing a white TO caption on the PFD Speed mode section) .
Advance the throttles until the white TO caption turns to a green HOLD caption, and the Auto Throttle will now hold your FMS programmed speed profile.
You can then manage your throttle completely through the FMS, and it will automatically disengage 50 ft over the threshold at landing.

Thanks for the info. I think one has to go to SPD MAN (the Blue manual mode) from SPD FMS (magenta) after FAF fix to dial in Vapp and Vref speeds if using AT. This is the way I have been doing this. Maybe things have changed in AAU1?

    • @danlance

@@jonbeckett while this is very true... That is the reality of this aircraft.
Once everything is set up correctly, the aircraft does indeed fly itself from shortly after take off until just after landing.
That ticks some people's boxes, and is a very impressive demonstration of the functionality available within the actual aircraft, and the modelling thereof in the Sim.
Missing out steps from the setup procedures to make it more interesting... Is kind of missing the point of the aircraft...
That does not necessarily make it a fun aircraft to fly in the Sim... Hands on low and slow canyon flying at ~100 KTS in a Bush plane costing < 100th the cost of the Longitude is definitely more engaging, and probably more fun for most in both real life and the SIM....
The point of the Longitude is to carry very wealthy individuals fairly long distances quickly, without them having to deal with the riff raff... And fun for the pilot is pretty much not on the agenda!

    • @JohnVanderbeck

@@danlance"from shortly after take off until just after landing" Curious if you mis-spoke here or does this have an autoland feature like the Airbus?

    • @danlance
      @danlance 10 месяцев назад

      @@JohnVanderbeck
uhhhh... yeah, you are correct, I mis-spoke - I should have said shortly before landing...
      Longitude does not have autoland.
According to Operators guide, Approach Autopilot Minimum is 160' AGL
(I mean that's if we want to fly the aircraft accurately - in the sim, if you let the autopilot fly the aircraft onto the runway, then it will do so, fairly successfully most of the time - it won't flare (but with the longitude you need very little flare anyway) and it will generally manage a landing rate < 500 FPM - maybe slightly firm, but not outside the bounds of sim-acceptability! It will also cut the autothrottle as you cross the threshold, but does not automatically apply reverse throttle or brakes)

For takeoff I recommend a trim of -2.6. It's enough for the NO TAKEOFF message to not appear and the plane will not get its nose up on roll. Otherwise it just flies off on its own.

Reset your Empty weight % MAC in WandB panel to default of 29.2%. Even tho there is a slider bar, this is a static number derived by weighing aircraft when sold on initial delivery. The number just below is derived CG %MAC based on payload and fuel and TOW. This is the number you plug into chart on checklist to calc trim. A TOW of 31,000 lbs should give you a trim of -6.1 approx. My guess is you are not calculating this correctly if -2.6 is working for you.

I use the far right dial/knob on my Bravo yoke to set ALT SEL. It then goes in 1,000's of feet. Joystick Button 13= INCREASE AUTOPILOT REFERENCE ALTITUDE, Joystick Button 14=DECREASE AUTOPILOT REFERENCE ALTITUDE. Twisting in 100's of feet is a pain but necessary. I use Air Manager and the Generic AFCS G710 and knobster for hundreds of feet to fine tune. Maybe next AAU2 they will fix this. Note also there is a new Garmin style knob on GTC that shifts the MFD/PFD split pain focus from magenta/teal/black. You will have to use mouse to push right and left on knob at bottom of gtc's.

It will not turn to meet the flight plan unless it's close to it, and on an intersecting course with it.

Use hdg mode to intercept. just like real world. If in FMS NAV (magenta mode) Direct To and Activate Approach will send you no matter what. It wiil even turn you around if inside IAF. Be careful with those two.

You must have a control mapping issue then.

Hope that wasn’t a tutorial. So much wrong with it.

Hej Jonathan, maybe you could prepare yourself and study all necessary systems, before you make a "tutorial"....
