After searching RUclips and seeing numerous MSFS 2020 instruction videos, I find this video is the best ever! While the video is long, it contains much valuable content and does not have someone swinging their mouse all over the place with a bunch of unnecessary chatter. This video helped me more than any other video. THANK YOU!
Maybe another video is needed now that the new citation has been launched. It has vnav, obs and isnt buggy. I just cant get it to shut down however and log my flight.
This video sets the standard for demo tutorials. Brilliantly illustrated and no annoying loud music or chatter. I love the instructions projected in perspective in the cockpit. Great thanks !
Very nice and informative. Couple of notes: Either use brakes or the power levers. Always check the parking break before moving the aircraft after stopping. Don’t set the parking break at the hold short line. Don’t turn on the engine generators until after that engine has been started. Those are things I learned from other aircraft and some real world flying. Thank you for this video as I am working on learning this aircraft right now.
Before I go through this long video, I am only wanting to know about one thing. Does this video, or can you point me to the right video, talk about how to set up the autopilot before takeoff? Is this possible? It seems when I set up everything, once in the air I hit the buttons to activate, and everything resets to the CURRENT values (or even to ZERO) instead of flying to the ones I preset. Is setting up the AP only possible after in the air???
Super, amazing master class of what a Tutorial should be ! Microsoft should buy this tutorial to teach us how to correctly work this plane and use this format for the other planes available ! You took the crown from other tutorials I watched !! TAHNK YOU for priceless information easy to follow !!
Thanks for making this video. Very helpful. I feel that a verbal talk through on top of the visual tutorial would help explain the reasons for doing things and what they are/do. I'm a retired aeronautical engineer and have an understanding but sim pilots new to this may appreciate a little more help. My comment is not meant as criticism, I greatly appreciate the help you are giving out. Thank you. Thanks to Fox Bau below too for his contents list.
Sorry, but when it comes to flight training, explaining and talking through the process is much more helpful. Just my opinion. When entering your flight plan, showing the SID, STAR and approach plates is so important when educating others. Furthermore, you are just adjusting the barometric pressure without explaining where you’re getting this info from. I do a lot of flight swimming and understand what you’re doing, but to the lay person trying to learn, share your voice and go more in depth on HOW and WHY you are choosing the waypoints, altitudes, baro pressure, etc. This is much more helpful. Again, just my opinion and my apologies for sounding brash.
This is a great video but i think my aircraft is bugged. Certain buttons dont illuminate when I press them, for example, the lights. Ill press them to turn them on but it wont say "on". and when starting the engines the n2% wont go past 24.7, no matter what I do. I followed the tutorial step by step, but still wont work. If I start the flight with engines on, or make AI do it, the plane is still bugged, for example the auto pilot. When Autopilot is engaged, the aircraft is not coordinated, and often times turns the wrong way. Im not a super experienced pilot but I do have basic knowledge (instrument rated private pilot) and know that the auto pilot is not performing the way it should be. anyone have any suggestions for a fix?
Very, very good video/tutorial. Not 100% sure about engine start procedure but it works in the sim so... But man, the taxispeed before takeoff was really scary 😁. But I must say, this was one of the best tutorialvideos I have seen. 👍
Not to mention take off without clearance, I know I know, it's a simulator but if you were playing on multiplayer and someone was coming in for a landing they would be very upset with you.
Hi Guti, Just found your video and found it very interesting. More so because you actually use the standard Longi and for you the start engine procedure works. For me, first of all, the buttons for Run/Stop the engines are already on Run when I begin, even when I get into the plane cold and dark. Then, when I engage the starters, the N2% only goes up to 25 and oil pressure stays at 1 and the engines simply don't really get proper power, although I followed the same procedure. At the end, I'm forced to use Ctrl+Shift+E to get the engines running, otherwise, no play. I have all the updates, incl 26/03 Any ideas/suggestions?
Hello ralfsenger, it's strange, if you set to start the flight in Cold & Dark you should start in Cold & Dark, it seems to me to be a bug in your simulator even more with this problem in the engine start. I haven't flown with Longitude in a while, but as far as I flew I had no problem with that. Try to contact Microsft Flight Simulator support. Sorry I can't help you in that case.
Nice tutorial man. The text captions you edited helped. How´s ur anisotropic filtering? Seems low: if so, you can increase it with no cost in fps. Go ahead. Thumb up!
@GutiGaming7 The only thing missing from this tutorial to make it perfect: ----> values. One example: at what speed do you retract the gears (Vr) before take-off, and how far away from the destination airport and at what speed do you extend the gears before landing? Another example, it looks like Arrival info was stopped around the 6:27 mark in the video; and as a result the following Approach data are missing. An explanation of why would help a lot. There are some other examples too. But be that as it may, this is a very helpful tutorial. Thank you.
Hi! The FMS works but has some bugs how i couldn't change the airport arrival after confirm the first one (Before the update, but i don't know after the patch). It's not 100% but works. The ILS i never tried to use but know some people has tried and told it works. Sorry, but i don't know what do you mean about built-in Camera, but i set all my views camera, i don't use the default camera.
Another question: in many other videos I see people using the FLC instead of VS, why do you rather use the latter? Also, when I entered the arrival procedure, although it would show up correctly, NAV didn't really want to follow it, I had to keep HDG mode and manually do the turns, until it got on ILS... Did I miss something?
Hello Ralfsenger, the VS (Vertical Speed) you have the power to decide how you want to climb, the FLC, the aircraft computer does this job for you. I like using VS more than FLC. This problem with the NAV, look for if there is any discontinuity in the flight plan in the aircraft's FMS or sometimes the final approach is made by vectors that would be indicated by the ATC, this must be why the NAV does not continue in the final approach. I hope I was helpfull!
Thank you very much for this superb tutorial, the longitude seems to me more affordable so I subscribe. Do you plan to do a flight with the TBM 930 in the same spirit with a cold and dark departure?
Thanks Mrbanditr! I'm glad you liked it! Yes, I'm going to do the TBM tutorial, I'm now doing the A320Neo tutorial, I had programmed myself to do TBM after Airbus. Soon it will be here on the channel.
When I click Nav Source, it has only GPS, Nav1, and Nav2. No FMS. Is this because I have a premade flight plan from the main menu, and not a manually entered plan?
I 'd like to say that your tutorial is very good for me, such as you have text to explain what to do, especially your cursor not jump around dizzyly in the cockpit. Now, I've problems for update 1.10.7.0, Longtitude not stable and can't use shotcut key such as Shift+Ctrl+Ins & Del to control airspeeds. If you have problem like me, please tell me how to solve. Thank you very much again and again.
Great tutorial in it's format. It is however not by the book. Even if it works for the sim it should be by the book so that the ones that like to do it as it should be done in real life actually do it correct. For the ones who don't care about that this tutorial is perfect.
Hi mate. I’m doing a lot of long distance flying in this plane and i find the fuel efficiency is very poor. approximately 0.7% per minute at FL390. IAS 245. Any tips on improving fuel efficiency?
Hi! I haven't done long flights yet, but the flights I did have fuel efficiency is bad. I'm thinking this is some bug in the simulator. Try to fly at the highest level you can, in the case of Longitude the maximum is FL450, it helps a little.
There are rumors that there is something wrong in the weight calculations... that you can load less fuel than the real world aircraft can (google says it can carry 2,2k gallons). But the range indication on the Flight Planner 'globe' seems correct. I usually reset the fuel mid-air to compensate.
Is this the OEM Asobo plane or is a modified one, my std Asobo Longitude freezes after turning batteries on (msfs 1.12.13). Your tutorial is one of the best I have seen, how everything works for you remains a mystery, you do not specify any changes to it. These jets are full of bugs and problems, that is why I don't bother with them, I only fly the ones that work 80% or better, and I do it to enjoy the scenery, but if I really want to fly IFR I use X-Plane. Your video looked very tempting, but did not work for me, I can fly it if I start with engines running, wouldn't you know!
Hi Ramon! This Longitude is the standard version, I never had this problem with this aircraft, I think it is a problem with some update to your Simulator.
Need any volunteers to get the leaves out of the undercarriage? :) Despite one or two slightly dodgy bits (not getting take-off or landing clearance!) this video has provided some much needed instruction that I can now start to build on. I would still be searching for clues on the internet if you hadn't made it! I looked for ages for some checklists. A big thank you too for all the additional time spent in adding graphics to the video to highlight where everything is. Because of what you've done I can now find my way around the cockpit of the Longitude and know where to find what I am looking for. Great!
Nice video. For some reason I am unable to access FMS. I can only access NAV1, NAV2 and GPS. Frustrating but I just follow the flight plan using heading mode.
I use to hit the starter first and at 20% N2 run the engine: Right Engine…................................................…....................Start Right Engine Run/Stop….....................................RUN (at 20% N2)
Has anyone besides me flown this aircraft besides me, and you ran out of fuel before you got to your destination? I did a flight from BGR To CYS, Bangor To Cheyenne. This aircraft's range is 3,500nm and I ran out of fuel 1hr 27mn from my destination Cheyenne, WY... Also, the aircraft has a service ceiling of 45,000 so it says but the aircraft becomes unstable at 35000 and starts to roll from left to right. I went back down to FL300 and the rolling stopped, has anyone else had this problem with this aircraft?
Hi Charles, I read about this problem on the Flightsim forum. There should be a (temporary) fix for it. If you can't find it let me know. It's a known issue which should be also fixed in the next update. If you could tell me how to manage (maintain) the airspeed it would be great. I can adjust it but the Plane won't keep the speed.
@@eds5709 Hey Ed, sorry it took a week for me to reply. Yes this is a great aircraft to fly if they can fix the fuel range issue and stop the roll of the aircraft on the longitudinal axis. I didn't have any issue with maintaining speed though. Just after take off engage your autopilot, preset your T/O and climb out speed to 205 knots and engage your A/T (auto throttle)... Once you pass FL100 increase your speed to 270-330 knots, that should be more than enough speed to get you to your cruise altitude at a climb out rate 0f 1500-1800 fpm.... Then take it to cruise speed, if it starts to roll from left to right above FL350 then the bug is not fixed...
This is the best video for the Cessna Citation Longitude. I am having one problem. I can not get the Autothrottle to Disconnect. I am making nice landings and then the Aitothriotle takes over and I crash. Any ideas as to what is going on? Also, I have a T16000. I have the Disengage Autothrottle connected to button 16 and it doesn't work at all.
Thanks AIR Pred. Try disengaging the Autothrottle in the Longitude panel and not the button on your T16000. If it works, there is a problem with the simulator's shortcut button.
@@FlyGuti comments like: ... (1) verbal talk through on top of the visual tutorial would help explain the reasons for doing things and what they are/do. (2) The use of the Flight Director, some RUclipsrs don't use it, reasonings? (3) why set the speed to manual rather than FMS? (4) Bearing 1 to GPS, why? (5) Wind direction and speed??? When I sometimes Taxi with the Longitude, I get told I'm over the speed limit on taxi, but when I look at the left MFD it doesn't give sufficient data, anywhere else to check? (6) I don't understand the use of the timer? (7) Not cleared to take-off? (Just some examples).... again like the comments below, this isn't a criticism, just wanting to find out more knowledge if you have it. Thanks
Hi Hussam Ali! It's difficult to find the documentation for the Longitude, this aircraft is too "new" to find any checklist or manual for it. Longitude's first flight was in 2016.
The plane bounces like a dolphin going through water when you engage autopilot. It’s a well documented problem. It’s an official discussion on the Microsoft forums also. I thought it was broke for everyone.
@@TheCarLessDriven Yes, it is a very annoying bug. That's why I set the vertical speed to 3000 feet / min before takeoff, this procedure helps when you engage the autopilot and minimize the bounce.
Do you know to Tell me whats is his fuel consuption in gal per hour? Im starting to fly him on fse economy and I have to calculate the fuel onboard. Thanks!! Nice video!!
This might be a bit much to ask but it would be good to have a voice over this vid to know not just what you set and when but why so people who are completely green like me had more of an understanding rather than just coping your inputs. Explaining more why you increasing reducing speed altitude by this much not that much etc.
I'd disagree. I found this so much more helpful . The slower pace and the lack of waffle was much more informative to me. All too often I find a stream of conciousness voice over with the mouse cursor flying all over the place is far too distracting. Well done. Just what I needed.
I'm following your tutorial but can't get past the procedures page. It will not keep the airports. just goes back to an empty active flight plan, no airports
GutiGaming7 I am pushing enter, then comes up the page to put in the destination. Already the Origin airport is gone. Does not look like yours where the origin code is there, mine is blank.... like it’s starting over
@@mcduffrobert This is strange, I don't know what may be happening, is it normal on other aircraft? You can try to make your flight plan direct in Flight Simulator when you choose the location you are going to take off and skip the part where I put the flight plan. Sorry I can't help you with this problem.
GutiGaming7 thanks for trying, not blaming you at all.... have it on the forums at Avsim.... I just don’t get it. I never tried before doing the update yesterday, so I can’t really say that’s the problem. Could you tell me what Garmin that is that’s in the Cessna Longitude ?

OMG what a helpful video..... any chance of a remake to include some of the useful remarks below and other things you've picked up....
Hi Sey! What type of remarks do you want to see?
Thanks
Thank you for Fox Bau for his list of procedures!
No range of movement check of the flying controls before taxy or fuel contents check.
Does anyone know if its possible to turn off the tinted cockpit glass? Thanks.
Good tutorial
Thanks for the tutorial! I have a question to ask please, how can I defogged the airplane's windows?
Hi!!! You need SET ON the Window Anti-Ice on Overhead.
Where can we find aircraft documentation for this type ? Checklists. Aircraft manual?
Hi Hussam Ali! It's difficult to find the documentation for the Longitude, this aircraft is too "new" to find any checklist or manual for it. Longitude's first flight was in 2016.
@@FlyGuti That was a test flight during the engineering process. The Longitude only entered service 11 months ago (October 2019).
Nice tutorial on C680... and sure, place helps a while, hum? Fly High
Thank you! I like fly in Brazil!
Does it calculate the vspeeds itself? It's always 120 knt for me.
Umm, how did you get this flying without the dolphin diving auto pilot bug?? This plane is broke for everyone else...?
Hi Frank! What do you mean "dolphin diving auto pilot", what is happening to the aircraft and at what moment?
Hi Jarbas! In my flights the average is 2.615 lbs/h (313,8 gal/h)
@@FlyGuti thanks buddy!! Im watching all ur vídeos! Do you have king air video?
@ Jarbas15 I'm here to help 😉 ... I don't have any King Air videos yet, but I'll do a tutorial for him soon.
This video is legendary man. Please do the A320.
Thank you very much mate! I will do the A320 Tutorial soon. 😉
Only Words a very good !!!!! I can use that for my self try to fly this Jet. Thank You
Hi Peter! I really appreciate!
Awesome video except way too slow climb speed at 189 kias, by 7000, you should be set for 250, but very thoroughly made tutorial.
How do you change the increments of altitude from hundreds to thousands, in this plane.
Hi Steve! The faster you change the altitude it goes to thousands, if you change it slowly it increases by hundreds.
Don't forget this plane also has speed brakes.
Also Autobrake?
Super Video, sehr gerne wider👍💪
Thank you Beat Hofer!
My N2 stops at 24.6. What step am I missing?
Wouldn't it be great if the assist function could hi lite each control like your video?
I believe the checklist does.
Hi, can you create your own color scheme on the airplane or not!
Hi Zarius! You can create, but i don't know how.
@@Dalwhat I'm not saying speed up the pace. Just add a voice over, that's all
I'm following your tutorial but can't get past the procedures page. It will not keep the airports. just goes back to an empty active flight plan, no airports
Hi! When you set the airport ICAO to "Add origin" or "Add destination", do you press ENTER or BACK?
GutiGaming7 I am pushing enter, then comes up the page to put in the destination. Already the Origin airport is gone. Does not look like yours where the origin code is there, mine is blank.... like it’s starting over
I can’t it to keep any airport code, when I put it in it shows up as the correct airport, but when I push enter, it is gone on the next screen
Thanks but how do I find the waypoints or instrument takeoff stuff
Hi, Skyvector, the best site for this.
Gut gemacht. Aber erst Gear Up, dann Flaps Up.
Thank you
Hello friend is this version 1.0 ? or 1.83a ? very good stream friend !
Hi ElBapino! I don't remember what version it was, it was one of the first.
@@FlyGuti alright friend ! Thks
How do you resist the urge to blabber😁
Is it possible to link the flight plan you were using?
Hi, sorry, but I don't have that flight plan anymore.
@@FlyGuti Ok thank you
Not an issue in the sim but gen 1 and 2 switches don’t come on until jets are up
To operating speed. Nice video though!
Super 🙂👍👍👍
Thank you systemschock80!!!
Does anyone know how to silence the landing gear voice when reducing speed?
I think you can't silence this. it's annoying sound. i think it's a bug in the simulator.
Theres an addon for the c700 that adjusted when it sounds along with some other stuff
Nice landing
Thanks!!!
