- It is crazy to think 6 months have already passed since Phantom re-opened in London! Despite some of the events surrounding the production, I am very happy to see the show return to its rightful place in the West End.
To celebrate, I bring you a very short clip of Lucy St. Louis! She has truly been one of the best additions to this show. Puts everything she has and more into each performance. Rhys has also settled in and become a wonderful Raoul.
Note that Lucy wears her wig up for this scene, as well as having a more historically accurate bustle on her Wishing dress instead of the waterfall drapes. The dress change seems to be solely for Lucy, unless u/s Beatrice Penny-Toure also has it.
For the time being, this is all I can share from the video.

So happy to see they're finally realizing Christine would, unlikely, have her hair down all the time, especially during this time period. Love the new, varying styles! 😍
Not necessarily, this was Paris in the 1880’s during the Pre Raphaelite period, which lasted just about the entire second half of that century. So not only are we talking about general trends of that time, but Paris has almost always been the fashion capital of the world, and ahead of it’s time in any era, so it’s just as likely her hair would be half-down in those famous pre raphaelite curls, as it would be entirely up.
Hair didn’t go back up for adult women on the regular again until the turn of the century, so in terms of accuracy, either would be fine.
I mean, if you really care about historical accuracy, would there really have been a black woman in an 1880s Paris theatre?
@@ohwellwhateverr I should make it clear that I was more excited about new and varying wig styles for the character, and was less focused on historical accuracy. In the same vein, I'm thrilled that Christine is a diverse role now! It truly allows the best of the best to perform the role, regardless of colour, culture, you name it! 🥰
@@ohwellwhateverr Yes, there would have. Though rare, there were a few black first ladies in theatre at that time.
@@ohwellwhateverr If you don’t want to read that long essay or whatever, look into Sissieretta Jones (not sure if I spelled her name right), also known as “black betty”. She toured america and europe in the late 19th century.
To whoever filmed this, thank you! Lucy has become one of my favorite Christines ever! Her performance is so flawless!!
She's beautiful in every way
OH. Lucy is Incredible. so talented. I really hope I can see her perform as Christine live soon.
I wanted to see her, so thanks for sharing this and her and Raoul have such beautiful chemistry! 😍❤️
Thank you so much for sharing this, I wish I could watch it live 😭 Lucy is so amazing as Christine, her voice is beautiful
Oh this is so beautiful! Lucy's singing is always flawless! I'm wondering would there be a chance anyone filmed James Gant's phantom and Lily's Calotta as well, I was at Her Maj' last week, the whole company at this time is amazing!
I know that there’s a few clips that were taken of James, but nothing anywhere near this kind of quality. Though maybe a bit more unobstructed. But I wouldn’t post those clips, as the person who took them is on here and I don’t wanna make them mad. No one has taken any video of Lily yet; I hope someone does though cause she’s a phenomenal Carlotta!
I LOVE LUCY!!!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH OH MY GOSH THIS IS BEAUTIFUL and the quality is *chefs kiss*
Who's the female singer? So cool to see a black Christine! Her voice is amazing
Lucy St. Louis
Beautiful!🥰🥰🥰
It's a pretty look and Lucy's Twisted is wonderful and showcase Christine's distress on being the bait
best christine ever imo 😍😍😍
Is there any chance that you have a video recording of the rooftop scene with the new Pegasus statue?
I have one! Doesn’t show the statue actually turning and coming forward but shows Killian’s reprise well
Is it me, or does “Raoul I’m Frightened” sound/feel a little rushed?
It was always like that, even Sierra Boggess sings it like that in the 25th anniversary
@@amitmeir8109 Or at least, it’s been done at that tempo for awhile. In some older boots I’ve seen (from before 25th), it’s slower. It seems like sometimes it either depends on the actress or the orchestra (I know the last chorus of PONR has sped up a lot over the years, and I do like that they slowed it down now).
Can you post more videos of Rhys! He is amazing 🤩
There may be another one coming in the next 2 weeks!
I'm unsure if you have other clips, but is there any way you could upload them to another site? I would love to see more of Lucy's performance
I two videos of Lucy, this one is just Act 2. But because the filmers don’t want it being shared publicly, I can’t share the whole thing on any site
@@phanoftheopera Is there any way you could send me any bootleg with Killian and Lucy? I'm not going to share it anywhere I just want to watch it privately
Yeah my email is phanoftheopera@gmail.com
@@phanoftheopera Could you please share it with me?!
Does anyone have video of the whole first lair with the new London cast?
I have one of Holly, but not Lucy
@@phanoftheopera omggg can you post it!!❤️
@@mathildeaebeloe6125 both videos are taken by the same person and being as they are new and the filmer technically wants none of it online, I’ll have to wait a while before I share it!
Is a full slime tutorial video with Lucy as Christine out there?
a few! they’re for trades
I’m sorry but I don’t like the bun on Christine. I prefer her hair down. The actress playing Christine, though, has a beautiful voice. She’s also very beautiful herself. 😁😘
shes also black with short hair lmao they did great 👍🏽💕
@@pmx_x1235 yes. They did.
Why does she sing so fast?😮😬
It seems to be the direction in London as of late, not necessarily a choice solely on Lucy’s part. All the Christine’s seem to do the same, pausing immediately after “and yet”. I don’t necessarily mind it, as I think the faster singing can speak to the anguish she’s going through. But I do enjoy a slower one, as they did originally. The show in London in general seems to sound faster.
