Thanks so much my dude. I was terrified I would have to take everything apart to get to the sensor it's self and I'm so glad it's just right in front of the engine

Kumar, if you can.... update the title to "Subaru 4 Cylinder P000A, P000B, P000C, P000D Problem Solved". I was lucky to watch it and find your GREAT writing on the cardboard for showing all the codes and the linkage to the parts, but a lot will miss this since the title is P000B. So, let me tell you my story and how you fixed my problem! .... my daughter's 2014 CrossTrek was throwing a P000A bank(1) code. The symptom was that we saw check engine light *AND* traction control warning light *AND* cruse control was blinking. So after i saw your video, i quickly popped off that plastic cover by carefully undoing the 2 plastic tabs, then was able to take off the part with a 10mm wrench like you said and carefully squeezed the connector down to remove the part from the connector..... TACTICALLY.. before the part could arrive.... i cleaned out very well the 'gunked up' center pin that would not come out easily when you hold the part with inside down.... after cleaning up the part , i reinstalled carefully the same part and the car has run great without the check codes for 2 days straight so far. I also bought a cheap OBD II code reader and on that thing you can reset the codes/clear-them. THANKS AGAIN... u saved me from going to a dealership and probably spending $350 dollars on time, labor and parts and also getting talked into fixing other things on the car at the dealer..... thanks again...... (oh, ordered the new part, just not in yet)

Thank you so much, this was amazingly detailed with names and all. My EL came on tonight and I do believe it will be my intake solenoid simply because of the long wait it’s been since oil/filter replacement, which definitely means mine is most likely clogged (sticking as you demonstrated). Liked and subbed. 👍🏽

Same here, 2018 STI and throwing the D code. Im almost 100% sure the part to repalce is the oil control solenoid, not the sensor. but im not completely sure. I have no way to tell which of the two are acting erratically without a proper scan tool, but i can use my accessport to monitor the ACVS on the both left and right intake and exhaust and i can see the left side exhaust ACVS acts erratically, lags behind the left side and it throws the code eventually if i cruise at 2-3k RPM a lot. Im considering just buying the solenoid but my car is under warranty. Already been to dealer once and they "couldnt replicate the problem"....

@@anthonybilotta5713 So the most common problem I've seen with those 2.5L engine, is the oil. They tend to be very picky on oil viscosity, and capacity. In order for the variable valve timing actuator (aka phaser) to work properly, those two things have to be correct. Another cause might be Worn timing chain, or tensioner.

Which sensor did you replace, was it the oil control solenoid? And how is the oil level and how does the oil looks like. And did you go too long on the previous oil change? These are all things that could set that code to go off on those engines.
