Welcome back to another ‘Day in the Life’ with 2LaneLife while we’re at home base before our next road trip! In this episode, we get things handled at the shop, then make our way out to the beautiful canyon roads of Malibu, California and make our way down to the world famous Duke’s Restaurant to get some grub before continuing our ride, or in Lance’s case…drive!
We tried to bring you guys some fun while Lance’s broken leg is healing up, and we’ll be back on the road in a matter of weeks!
Some of the roads we explored in this video were Topanga Canyon, Mulholland Highway, Encinal Canyon, Pacific Coast Highway, and some other famous Southern California roads in between!

DUKE'S MALIBU
Duke's Malibu has brought the excitement of Hawaii, Waikiki, and surfing to the mainland. The spectacular oceanfront location on Pacific Coast Highway offers over 300 feet of romantic oceanfront dining and memorabilia from both Hawaii and California surfing history. The Barefoot Bar, looking south into the lights of Santa Monica, is a great spot for drinks and casual food with friends.
SURFING MEETS HOLLYWOOD
Surfing legend Duke Kahanamoku taught surfing in Malibu and spent time in the area where he was a lifeguard, competed in water sports and also appeared in over 28 Hollywood movies. Duke’s Malibu honors Duke, but also pays tribute to the early days of surfing in Malibu. Adding to the lore, Kathy Kohner Zuckerman, the inspiration for the Gidget novel, movie and TV series that sparked the California surfing craze, works at Duke’s Malibu as our Ambassador of Aloha.
ABOUT 2LANELIFE

Wow! What a great video you guys just posted! Thank you so much to keeping up sharing inspiration for bikers of all over the World. You guys do encourage us to go out riding! You guys just made me remember my trip from LA to S. Francisco through Route 1 in 2016 (but I drove a car, unfortunately not a HD Bike). I visited Malibu and several places like wineries of Santa Barbara (cities like Lompoc, Buellton, Santa Ynez, Solvang "beautiful Danish city", Los Olivos among others = all of them based on the movie "Sideways"). I can´t wait to come back to California USA in order to visit them riding a rental HD Bike!!! See ya'll down the road!
Thanks for watching, Marcos!! Glad you enjoyed the vid and that it brought up some good memories for ya! Always happy to hear that, and we hope to inspire others to get out there and explore on the open road, no matter the vehicle.
Thanks for the support, we'll keep the videos coming! 👍
I love motorcycles, and I love traveling around this beautiful country of ours…Your videos bring just that…No click bait, no BS, just great trips on the 2Lane!✌🏼
Thanks, MotoMitch!! Life on the 2Lanes is a hard thing to beat! Plenty of good times ahead.
always a pleasure. thanks for taking us along.
Thanks for the support, Ebon!! Glad you liked the video 👍
Good you guys live by the Ranger Motto by never leaving a fallen brother behind!
🫡
Nice! While I was in California in February, I hauled my granddaughter on the back of my Road Glide down Topanga Canyon. Was a great ride!
Those are always great memories! To see the smile on their face after a nice cruise. Good stuff, Joe! Thanks for watching 👍
My boyfriend and I were the “couple of dudes” riding by! :) We were excited to see you on the road. Came down through Malibu Canyon, stopped by at The Sunset, and went back through Topanga Canyon. It was indeed a beautiful day!
Haha awesome!! Cool to see you guys out there!! Nothing like a Wednesday Malibu cruise!
Thanks for watching, Choya 🤘
When I saw the thumbnail, I was happy to see the Dukes sign and not Neptunes. Neptunes has a nice view, but I think the food is way better at Dukes. We were there a couple days earlier on Sunday, and I was griping about the cold and clouds. I really look forward to these videos every week.
Oh yea! Had to switch it up. The food at Duke's is definitely a lot better, and the view aint too shabby either! Thanks for the support 🤘
I have been waiting for a new bike ride from you a while. I don't mind these episodes where you interview people or do documentary stuff. But what made me subscribe to your channel are the rides. And this proves it, I will be watching this episode a couple of times. Thanks, makes me want to ride except for the fact that where I live you do not have these roads and/or scenery.
Thanks for the support! This is the longest period of time since the start of the channel that we haven't hit the road, as Lance's broken leg is still healing. We'll still be doing some doc style stuff throughout the year, but still tons of riding vids! Thanks for the input! More to come 👍
You guys always have a nice flow to your production. MLLH&R
Thanks Abe!1 Glad you're digging the flow 🤘
One year ago I took a motorcycle camping trip to Malibu State Park. You guys are bringing back memories of a great road trip. Can’t wait to get back there and explore some new roads I missed last time (and revisit ones that I loved. Thanks
Awesome to hear!! We'd love to get out and do that. Definitely tons of great riding out there.

Almost riding time for ya!
Achy Bones
You guys inspired me to get riding again after 11 years off. Even with Lance in a jeep you are putting out great content. Keep up the great work. See ya down the road.
Thanks for the support, that's awesome to hear!! Glad you could get back out on two and enjoy the open road. Lance has been itching to get out there, so the Jeep was the next best thing! We plan on getting back out there on a trip at the end of April. Lance may be on two wheels or three...who knows!
Thanks Achy Bones 🤘
Awesome and awesome again! Love your videos, guys!
Thanks for watching!! More to come 👍

See ya down the road..
Guys, you've been an inspiration to me! Dropped my first video of the route 66 series today. Hopefully I can entertain you as well as you have for me the last couple years. Looking forward to seeing you out in LA soon!
Awesome!! Glad to hear that, Tracy! Keep the vids coming👍
Thanks for the tour if I ever get that far south on the coast Duke's is a must.
Any time! Thanks for watching, Steve 👍
My God. What a life! You lucky devils. 🍻

I am usually down at the OC when in California. I eat at Duke's in Huntington Beach when I'm there. Love it.
It's a great place to be! Thanks for watching, Bob! Glad you enjoyed the vid 👍
I was at Dukes last time I was in Cali. Can't wait to go back. This time on a bike.
Some good eats, with views to match! Thanks for watching, Dave 👍

Thanks for watching, Cathy!! Glad you enjoyed this one. He's almost there! Could probably ride right now, but just keeping it safe and playing it by ear. Have a great Easter Weekend!! 👍
Did Lance break his leg dirt riding? Is there a video re: how he managed that?
Keep riding and heal quickly, Lance!
Love the channel - don't know how this channel doesn't have 100k subs!
Yep, theres 4 or 5 lives and the adventure video where it happened. He took a low speed spill on the ice and is healing up great. Back on 2 wheels very soon. Thanks for watching!
I've been watching for some time now &I have to say the production is top notch, Keep it up !!!!!
I never heard of Leticia Cline before !, Wow what a groovy chick, & Nice to Mike in there as well. Hope all of you do a trip together ? I had to look her up I saw her on Howard's show
not sure if you guys did or not, but WOW !!!!
Thanks for the input, Rex!! Glad to hear it!!
Leticia is an awesome human being with tons of amazing things going on! Definitely cool to have her on the show and have Mike pop in for a few. We have a ride planned with her in October and will hopefully get some miles down!
Show Time.......Thank You 😎🇦🇺

Good stuff but always rest your hat on the crown. Keep up the good work!
👍👍
Great video guys, really like these 'day in the life' style vlogs....just like hanging out with your buddies!
Thanks Derek!! Glad you're digging them! Figured we'd switch things up a little until we get back to our regular road trip. More to come, stay tuned 👍
Rindge Dam interferes with a historical Steelhead run, Salt water running sea trout that spawn in fresh water, of which rainbow trout are descendants of. Piru Creek below Pyramid Lake in Angeles National forest has Wild steelhead stock trout, now blocked by lake Piru and the dam. They used to run up the Ventura river, right by Ventura H-D, CA to the headwaters of Piru creek, all the way to Frazier Mtn.
Wow, thanks for the info that's interesting! All this time, this has been in our backyard, and we've just recently learned more about it👍
Gr8 vid guys keep them coming!
Thanks Kyle!! We sure will 🤘
Thanks for the ride and video 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks for coming along for the adventure, Jim!!🇺🇸🇺🇸
Trashin supply did a video at dukes. I’m glad to see how popular it is with motorcyclists.
Definitely a great stop! Thanks for watching 👍
Always fun finding new adventures right around the corner. Good job guys ✌🏻
That's right!! Thanks for watching, Shannon 🤘
Another great video boys. Love the behind the scenes. Keep the great content coming 🤘🏽
Thanks N Bitt!! More to come 👍
Great video. Looks like a great ride through the canyons. Can’t wait to ride them myself.
Always a great ride through those canyons, and there's plenty to choose from! Decker Canyon, Encinal Canyon, Malibu Canyon, Tuna Canyon...the list goes on. Some of the best riding in the country!
Thanks for watching, D. Rider!
Good to see you healing up quickly.
Thanks, Backroads Behind McBars!!
Great video. I’ve never heard of the Rindge Dam ( I live in the Midwest). I am going to read up on it.
Thanks for watching, Tim! Definitely some cool hidden history around there 👍
Dude. This channel is awesome how have I never heard of this before.
Thanks for the support, Sam! Welcome to the 2Lane family!! Plenty more rides to come 👍
@@2LaneLife sick 😎 I especially enjoyed this video because I may start a new job in Malibu soon and I've never actually been there before. Hey what do you guys think of the new hd nightster? Im kinda disappointed they used the nightster name. New lowrider s looks sick tho
@@samesparza2149 Good stuff!! Haven't really checked out the nightster, but we've tried the Rev-Max motors on the Pan-Ams and they were great.
They New Low Rider S and STs are awesome!
@@2LaneLife yeah the lowriders stayed great I appreciated that Harley stuck with their heritage look with those. I agree the new engines on the Panams are sick. I'm probably gonna go for a lowrider s this year. Haven't ridden since I got hit on the 91 in 2017
Toujours un plaisir a regarder 💯
Great video!! Thank you!!
Thanks for watching, Edward! 👍
Used to live in Agoura Hills. Cruz on over to Gladstones and up Sunset, or down PCH. Just watch out for Mr. Sheen.
Tons of great spots in the area for sure!! Always watching out for Mr. Sheen 😂🤘
Bonjour les Amis,
Je vois que Lance se porte mieux et qu'il sera bientôt sur la moto, c'est une bonne nouvelle pour la reprise des vidéos de vos voyages. See you down the road
Bonjour Claude ! Oui, Lance guérit bien et nous prévoyons de repartir lors de notre prochain voyage fin avril. À plus tard!
Just re running the 2LL vlogs, awesome guys, inspiring, thank you. Si 🇬🇧 ✌
Good stuff, thanks for checking out some of the older vids! good times all around👍
Keep up good work guys
Thanks Wayne!!
Missed the drop but I'm here now 🤘🏼
All good!! Thanks for watching 🤘
I contacted a place to store my motorcycle for the summer ( monthly charge)so I can tour Cali as you have and possibly bring passengers to show off and mimic your adventures.
Awesome! Sounds like you've got some great adventures ahead. Thanks for watching, Randy! 👍
I enjoyed the near argument from Gaylin doing all the shipping work. LOL. Missed the Ocean Views from Duke’s interior. But yeah. That’s a nice little ride. My fav place in the world is the Rock Store on a Sunday. We ride Napa or Sonoma Coast most weekends up here. We are blessed.
Haha it happens!
A nice little ride for sure. Great to get out there and take a local cruise to some great food and scenery. Rock store is a good one too!
Thanks for watching, Gene 🤘
I live on Rambla Pacifico just up from Dukes. I have lived in Malibu for years and had no idea there was a dam or waterfall. I will check it out.
The more ya know! Thanks for watching, Mark 👍
Great vid guys thanks.. Imma be down there mid of May making my way down from SF down the PCH... Pismo, Malibu and Marina Del Rey... I will definitely hit Dukes, it's my fave from Hawaii (even named my 125lb Bernese Mtn dog Duke after this places!)
Thanks for watching!! Sounds like you have an epic trip ahead of you! Good ol Dukes!!
Awesome video! Glad to see a new riding video. I'm sure you guys have got this questioned asked alot, but I am curious on how you guys run a mic into your helmets for the go pro audio. I am looking to start this kind of adventure on vlogging and making videos, so any advice is greatly appreciated.. Thank you fo the the awesome videos and getting people like me excited to hit the open road on 2 wheels!
Thanks for watching, Neal!! Glad we could bring a little riding back to the screen. We're leaving for our next trip in a week, so looking forward to capturing that!
For the gopro helmet audio, we use gopro media mods to be able to plug in lavelier mics, then just route the mics under the helmet pads right to where the intercom mic is.
Hope that helps. Have fun out there! 🤙
Just wishing good for the wheel and when able to tip toe in a doorway for support and physio therapy 🇨🇦☕️❤️👍
Indeed! Therapy went well and he is back on his own two wheels...and bike!
I mentioned on IG that I passed by you guys in Malibu Canyon when you were filming. I've lived in the area my whole life and worked in Malibu for 7 years driving past that turnout 5 days a week and never knew the history, so thank you for that! Killer drone shots too! I'd never seen that part of it before.
I knew about the painting though. Here is some info on it and a photo for folks. This happened in 1966 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pink_Lady_(art)
We saw that! Cool to cross paths with ya, even if it was a split second! Pretty crazy all of the hidden history in that area. Who woulda guessed?
And yes, the pink lady was an interesting tidbit we figured we'd throw in there. It sounds like the paint they used to cover it up is slowly degrading from the weather, and unciovering the original art!
Thanks for watching, Bungletronics!
Very nice 👌
Thanks Rodney! 🤘
I think Lance should have definitely rented a Can Am to feel the wind on his face. No not wheels but better than being in the jeep. IMO
This was a short notice ride, but he has a trike rented for our road trip next week. Thanks for watching Jermaine 🤙
Love de had 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
🙌
Great video love the day in the life stuff looks like it won't be long and you will need an office manager to run things so you can ride. Do you think you guys will do a Baja Mexico run like down to like Loreto to Cabo San Lucas? Maybe Harley Davidson can sponsor it? Thanks for all that you do!
Thanks Mark!! Haha we hope to be able to grow enough this year to add some help in the shop for when we're gone. Things are picking up around here!
We'd love to make it down there down the line! There's been a lot of people reaching out about that, and we've seen plenty of pics and vids from down there, so it's definitely worth checking out.
See ya on the next one!
Who is that Bearded Hippyman in the Jeep??lol
Idk but he followed us around all day!!😂
As I get into my late 50’s more riding and less work is much better,
Haha you know it!! Thanks for watching, John 👍
I was in the area last week
Good stuff!! The weather is great right now 👍
Hola 👋 desde España 👍
hola victor! ¡Gracias por ver! 👍
LOL!!!!! Somebody got to work.
😂🤘
@@2LaneLife Just tell the guys S F A get to work!!!
Another awesome video.
Question: I noticed in your videos, you guys and most of your crew you ride with are wearing Bell Modular helmets. I'm wondering what model helmets and why you chose those. I'm in the market for a modular helmet and it's a tough decision.
Thanks for watching!! And yes, most of us rock the Bell SRT Modular helmets.A super comfy fit, great visibility, and the modular latch components are metal, rather than some of the other helmets out there with plastic components. They're affordable and safe, so we trust 'em! They also make the ProTint shield for them, which is the photochromic transitions lens that gets dark in sunlight and clear at night etc.
Hope that helps!
The helmet game is tough right now as far as stock goes, but if you decide to head in that direction, shoot an email to info@2lanelife.com and we'll do our best to get you set up 👍
@@2LaneLife Awesome!! Thanks for the information!!
Just curious how long of loop that was for you guys?
Took us most of the day since we were filming and what not, but that loop could take anywhere from 1-2 hours depending on how you're riding 👍
👍
🤘
10:20 Did I hear you guys dissing the Slingshot? Might be a fine alternative for someone unable to ride two wheels due to age or injuries.
Nope just messing around. We've got Big Lance on a trike for our next trip due to his injuries
@@2LaneLife Right on. Always some way for enthusiasts to enjoy the open road and 2 lanes.
@@FreddietheFly That's what it's all about!
Dam, it looks like a union shop.
Gaylins working while 2 other stand around and watch while getting paid. Lmao
😂😂😂
👍✌
🙌
Did I miss something? When did Josh get a Road King?
He got a Road King back in August 2020 and traded in the low rider. The King has only made it on a couple of trips, but plenty more to come. We're headed up to northern CA first thing in the Am to capture some rad stuff 👍
Another great video. You guys are the best. But once again. There are other ways of taking video besides those goofy helmet cameras.
Thanks for Alexander! Working on a new mounting position to accommodate all of the wiring for the helmet microphones and being able to use it with a modular helmet. If it wasn't for the 8 other cameras we use to film, ya probably wouldn't see the goof helmet cams 😉
🤘👍🇺🇸

Hey fellas still planning my trip to be at the Wyndham on the pier in Santa Monica May 1st to be in Moab on the 23rd working my way slowly to the Wyndham I working out of Kansas City I now have my bike here in Kansas City 760 miles one day to get my bike here after flying home in Ohio so this is going to happen at the moment I'm traveling alone be great to run into you guys maybe I'm hoping to ride up the coast just to Malibu or so on this trip and grab some tacos if you're free ride on out the Moab or Vegas
Sounds like a helluva trip! That will be awesome. Reach out to us when you make your way out here and we'll see where we're at! We'll be out of town the last week of May, but keep us posted.
Thanks for watching! 👍
Hey fellas at the end of August I'll be back in LA to get my motorcycle go see Diana Ross in concert and then I'm going to shoot up the Sacramento and over to Lake Tahoe. I want to check out Lake Tahoe in the winter the little bit of the snow bunny life. Hopefully everything is still good on the motorcycle after being in storage all summer. So prepare for winter get your girls some money outfits and if I like what I see I'll be back in the winter.
Right on! It sure is beautiful out there in the winter time. We rode up May of 2020 and got caught in some pretty wild hail and snow storms over the Kit Carson Pass, but were able to ride through it for some great weather in the Tahoe area
Great I not great at judging 🌡️ weather I am on I-5 above pyramid Lake today in the semi headed for Sacramento so I'm getting a preview a little giving up my bike is in LA like I said I hope nothing has went awry with it sitting there all summer but I'm going to leave it probably in Sacramento for the winter and try and get to the redwood highway and Napa valley and eventually Yellowstone back down to Moab sometime next summer
I I'm glad you answered I have a little dilemma I've decided I want an electric e-bike mountain bike called a mullet and it comes from Los Angeles I'm trying to figure out how to get it to Lake Tahoe so I'm back to possibly buying the trailer and hitch to pull behind my bike to pull the e-bike to do The flume trail so why would I want to have the bike sent to Ohio I need some place to have it sent to here
Can you give us a link to the music you use in the background, thanks “rooster” secretary and Chaplin of the Pacific Northwest chapter of the Union brotherhood MC
how bout those machine gun Eddie crutches!
Haha we were hoping a few people would notice that 😂
You should start a Go Fund Me account and maybe we could get you enough money to have lunch at Nobu Malibu next time.
Hahaha maybe we'll all just share an appetizer 😂🤘
Machine gun crutches, a need.
Haha glad you caught that one 😂
If I HAD to re[place my bike with a car, Jeep Wrangler would be the choice...............
Definitely a sweet ride!1 With that turbo, it's pretty quick too!
