Great vid Matt, one of my favorite rides. To be fair there are a large number of crashes and deaths up there. People override that section constantly, so I don’t think it’s just the cops trying to pick on people having fun, but to stop people from using a public highway as a racing strip, can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen someone pass on the wrong side of the road in a blind turn
That’s true people are dumb.
Yup cops the way they are there because of people like Dyna guy and bra girl! Cudos to the cager on the right staying out of the way also!
Thanks for tge memories. I had forg otten hiw great it was in SoCal. I had spent sometime there in the late 90s riding up & down Topanga canyon & on the PCH! Top shelf cruising.
This video really brought back some good memories. I lived in Woodland Hills for years and that was my old stomping grounds.
With all the great locations out there by you.....you figure Harley would no problems drawing more new riders. Love the video....stay frosty!
We stopped there on the way to Santa Barbara. Didn't know it was iconic. Great view with reasonably priced deep fried sea food. A little over cooked but I would eat here again.
I am from the area and this video brought back lots of good memories! Excellent video and great music!! Those were the days and still today, 50yrs later!!! The cops by the rock store have always been this way for 35yrs. 1000's of accidents from the store to Malibu Cyn rd. I had 9 accidents and quit. Now i ride a 50cc Coca Cola collectors bike that barely drives up a hill..
I once was with a friend on a Sunday afternoon, and joined up with a 3000 bike, biker convoy, from the store to Santa Monica! So much fun!
Sunday afternoons at Neptunes, drink beer and fresh seafood also for 50yrs. Smoke a doobie on beach and reflect on life! Further down Leo Carrillo beach. Fun in the sun!

Great roads, brought back memories of my years in LA. Wouldn't it have been cool to talk bikes and cars with McQueen? Jay Leno was there one morning when we rode in. Earlier he had bought everyone breakfast, such a classy guy.

Born and raised in So Cal and want to say this video is great. Can you imagine being an avid rider living the midwest during winter and watching this video thinking "I need to move to Southern California". The sun, surf, bikes and the music wraps it up.

I have lived only 12 miles from the Rock Store for the past 20 years, but have never been. If it were open during the week, I'd eat there. But I stay clear of the weekend racers and warriors, the canyons, and their hangouts, especially during the summer. My Yamaha FJR and Honda probably aren't cool enough anyway. Try the canyons during the week after traffic, or before sundown going down to the ocean (against traffic). You'll usually own the road. But you have to watch out for deer at dusk. I clipped one that came out of nowhere on Malibu Canyon Road doing 25 mph in my SUV a few years back. Nice video Mr. Laidlaw.

We rode through Neptune’s nest to Oxnard last Sunday morning around 9:30 ish marine layers rolled in and temp dropped down to about 69F and what a beautiful ride. Temp jumped up to 90F soon after as we heading back to Santa Monica beach. Great video Matt 👍🏼
69 Degrees is the perfect riding weather. It was too hot the day we rode but it was still a great day

Fun stuff! I grew up in So.Cal and lived the Harley lifestyle for a long time. The Rock Store was very cool. Jay Leno rode in while I was there on one of my two visits. I live up north now but know that So Cal life! Not to mention the iconic Laidlaws Harley Bar and Shield dominating the 10 freeway! Nothing like a few bros jamming down the road on Harley’s. Wish you would do a vid on Laidlaws Harley Davidson's history.
I'd like to do a video on Laidlaw's History. That's a big project. Maybe one day I'll tackle it.
I know this is an older vid, but I love your videos bro. I've been riding on and off since I was 14 (metric bikes) and after I got home from Iraq in 2019 I dove headfirst back into bikes and now I'm finally trying to get a Harley. Your videos have definitely helped me with my research on bikes and also given me ideas for road trips. Even my guy at my local HD said he watches your videos as well. Your videos should definitely be like official HD marketing videos or something lol. Anyways, thank you for making your videos and keep doing what you're doing bro!

After watching your video on customizing your new 2018 Street Glide, I went and did the same set up on my Roadglide Ultra, slip-ons, AC and tuner. Mat my bike is running excellent, I couldn't be happier with that setup and still keeping my warranty. 👍👍👍

You definitely influenced my decision Mat thanks again. I rode about 100 miles yesterday after the stage 1 upgrade installed by my local HD dealership. 4in Rinehart Slip-Ons SEPST and High flow air cleaner. What a noticeable difference, an already great running bike runs even better. This particular set up seems to have the bike running perfect. Slightly higher idle speed now, smoother shifting and definitely a noticeable power increase, not sure how much of a power increase but it’s more than enough for me. Being I’m in the NY area and it’s cold this time of the year I had them install the heated grips and they work great, another recommended add for anyone thinking about it 👍

On my 3rd Roadglide, just can't seem to get away from them, currently riding a 2018 Roadglide Ultra and I had the detachable tour kit installed, it gives me the option of riding without the tourpack when I'm just in the neighborhood and the bike feels so much lighter and easier to handle, and being it's the Ultra I get all the benefits of a soft comfortable ride 😊

My buddy and I work on boats for a living ( carpentry and fiberglass ) one of our billionaire clients lives out there on Mullholland drive ... he has 2 pet Lynx 😳 got to pet them ... I guess they liked me , or wanted to eventually eat me 😂 they feel like and ordinary house cat, but they’re the size of a large dog ! Thanks for showing me that ride, definitely gonna do that in the next couple weekends !
