Back at it with another episode of our Southern California Ride Series and in this one, we're starting out in Los Angeles, California and riding Big Tujunga Canyon on to Wrightwood and into Big Bear Lake on winding mountain roads before hitting the road home!
We've been all over the country, but there's something about exploring your own backyard!

What a great riding area. My wife and I did that ride a number of years ago from San Bernardino up and through Big Bear Lake and back on our way back to Indio California. At 8000 ft and seeing skiers coming down the side of the mountain as we're riding along, what a sight. Great trip.

it use to be a one lane dirt road that had pull offs ever so often, if you met another vehicle on the way up, you had to back down to the pull off and let them pass, my wife family has a lot of old history there, man all the trees re gone, we use to do a lot of partying up there in the 70s as well.
Now that's some history right there! Pretty dang cool
The last time I went to Big Bear I was about 14 and that was about 55 years ago!

Great trip, I was stationed in San Bernardino in the mid 70's and I would do the Lake Arrowhead, Big Bear Lake loop on my 750 Honda at least a couple times a week. You brought a great memory for me, thanks.

It's so beautiful up there. When I used to live in the Temecula area a nice loop to ride was head up the Cajon Pass and take 138 east. Goes past Silver Lake to Crestline. Then take 18 past Arrowhead all the way to Big Bear. Then take 38 which loops around down the mountain to Mentone. From there, you can take I-10 back west or for me, I'd go 10 east to Banning and pick up 243 to Idyllwild and then 74 to 371 through Anza and then 79 at Aguanga back to Temecula. It's some miles but well worth the trip.
So nicw to see roads and places I did ride back in the day. You guys are amazing

Hi Guys, Kaycee fae Bonnie Scotland checkin' in. Love the latest video. After watching you guys for the last few years, I finally traded in my Heritage for a Road Glide. Really loving it, and hoping to put in a good few miles riding round Europe next year. Might even get back over to the States to visit your new HQ.
Good stuff! Both awesome bikes, but you'll dig the road glide for longer mile days. Hopefully we'll catch ya out in the states

California is an interesting state. Great roads, diverse destinations, and always something to do. It's nice to see you showcase it a bit. I love visiting my family there. I always rent a sports car and hit The Santa Monica Mountains. I love Dekker Rd. & Yerba Buena Rd.
Next trip try to check out Azusa canyons. Gmr bit more of a ride day trip.

Big Tujunga is the way! Right now upper Tujunga is closed off but that's the way i used to go to bewcombs off ach. Fast sweeping turns and very little traffic compared to ach.

great show guys I live down the base of the mountains in yucaipa big bear village is 55 miles from my house I ride up there several time a yr. for breakfast ,have lived at the base of the mountains all my live ,

Great video guys. I almost went there when I rode through California it was getting too late at the time. And I decided not to ride through the mountains at night cause I did that the night before I'm Kernville area at Lake Isabell. Also, didn't realize you guys were in Southern California either until i left your state and came back to TX lol. Otherwise I would have stopped by and said hi. But yes, yall sure have alot of good riding in that area 💯 agreed. Also, I'm really digging the background music very upbeat and cool vibes there. 🤘🏼

Hell yea, Raccoon Saloon! I go there all the time. Was there the day you guys went to Baldy. Just was up in big bear about a month ago. Getting up there was pretty sketch, basically road in a cloud from arrowhead all the way just before we got into big bear. Couldn’t see more than 5-10 feet in front on yourself. Catch you guys out there on the road one day! 👊🏻🤘🏻
Awesome!! The Raccoon Saloon was a great stop on the way up there. We're looking forward to putting the Baldy video out there as well. That visibility sounds gnarly!
@@2LaneLife For sure it was! All three of us once we finally got up there were saying we were waiting for someone to turn around. But going down woulda been worse. It buffed out though. Nice, waiting to see the Baldy video. The lodge is like 15 minutes from my house. We’re at the base of the mountain down in Upland.

Josh, which fairing gives you more wind protection, your bike's FXRP or the Road Glide? Which do you prefer?
The Road Glide has a bit better wind protection than the FXRP, but i still prefer the fxrp for my taste

Great place to ride, too bad it’s in a sh*thole state politically. I’ll never go back. My motorcycle was damaged when someone tried to steal my helmet and gear. Seems everyone in California is a criminal or thief.
