The only ppl I have ever seen force a sexuality or gender on someone was straight people. I'm not saying it hasn't happened with trans people but its def rare. The way he puts the blame on trans people while saying he accepts and doesn't hate on them is bs. He sounds sarcastic when he says not all as well. Kinda sad he had to mention the fact he was surrounded by trans ppl (his editor and he brought someone else along with him and I understand getting someone's opinion whos in the community but half the things they said was bs that was "agreed" between the both of them.) its sad because has basically using them as a shield. "HeY i HaVe TrAns PeOpLe oN My SiDe WhO agReE wiTh Me SO I mUst bE riGht" as if everyone doesn't have their own opinion on the matter. (also I'm extremely late to this lol and the whole super straight bs is basically over but who gives a fuck its never to late to say something.)

I think, overall that this is a good video except for at 10:30. I think that the whole concept of "Super Straight" will never be acceptable and will always be harmful to the LGBT+ community. Like I don't feel comfortable as a cis person saying whether "not wanting to date a trans person because of a preference of genetalia" is transphobic or not, and I will happily allow my trans siblings to say how they feel on the topic. BUT the whole concept of "Super straight" will ALWAYS be offensive due to the fact that it masks biggotry while mocking the LGBT+ community. The fact that people will try to use this concept of "Super straight" as a shield from criticism. The mocking bit comes in from the fact that queer people are systemically oppressed for their sexuality and/or gender identity. Being superstraight not only is a reaction to Trans people wanting to be accepted for who they are, but does not, and will most likely will NEVER be systemically oppressed.
As I said, having a preference may or may not be transphobic (I personally do not know as I do not feel like I have the knowledge nor the experience to make such a starement) but the whole idea of identifying as superstraight, IMO will always be queerphobic

It infuriates me to no end how JAR misrepresents trans people. I don't understand how the two trans people he has in his video just let him say his piece and didn't maybe bring it up or ask him to reconsider him validating the Gay/Trans Panic Defense.
People really need to understand-Having a genital preference or planning on having your own biological child DOES NOT make you transphobic. It starts being transphobic when it's specifically *because* they are trans, even if they're completely passing and have bottom surgery.

I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt because he did say he’s trying to move away from his Anti SJW beliefs. I think his video was more positive than negative for the trans community, however, he did slip in a few comments which were just untrue or inconsistent with what he was saying. That’s what I wanted to critique because I know there will be people who will use those arguments to reaffirm their anti trans beliefs.
The person at the end of the video (who I assume is his editor) seemed like they do not reciprocate his beliefs so maybe they’re exchanging their beliefs.

@Fire Rises So basically your argument boils down to you don’t like their lifestyle and there’s bigger things in the world people do or have done?

Again, nobody is asking you to go out of your way to help trans people nor are they saying it is your obligation. All they’re asking is for you to respect them for who they are and not antagonize them for being trans.

At around 7:44 you say that he is putting the blame on them which to an extent he is. But you also have to see that to a person like myself who went from having no opinion one way or the other on trans people to somebody who somewhat disliked them because of the vocal minority to myself now believing that trans people deserve the same rights as cis people the main thing that made me have a dislike towards them was the vocal minority and they can have a large impression on a person without opinion.
Edit because I forgot to finish what I was saying:
So while yes putting the blame exclusively on the vocal minority of dicks is not good there is also the affect they have on a cis person who is without an opinion one way or the other.

No hate to zeelonious I just massively disagree with some of the stuff he said.Super straight is clearly a joke and I hate this because if your community can’t even take an non-edgy joke it bothers me and from my understanding there’s a lot of people specifically teachers(Friends and the Internet) gaslighting kids into becoming trans for whatever reason and that seems to be the main reason why people are offended by this. The source(I will be using for this to explain why I think kids are being gaslit into becoming trans): John Oliver GASLIGHTS Trans Children - Debunking "Last Week Tonight" LIES LIES LIES : Show 215. as for the super straight or not wanting to date trans people I have a question then is it ok that I call women racist when they don’t wanna date me(you know because if they said they don’t date black people I’m not gonna force myself on them that’s messed up) or when James Charles was coming onto straight people and they didn’t like him because he was a man and they were heterosexual was that sexist against men because honestly I just consider it ridiculous treat people with human decency I will treat the trans community with human decency but I just don’t understand why people can’t just except that other people date who they want to date I believe if you say otherwise your kind of an asshole(because from my understanding for good or worse people are attracted to the people who they’re attracted to and that’s who they’ll date and I don’t understand why that’s a bad thing Inherently). “memes and jokes can reflect the type of person you are” OK and I guess the person who created uncle ruckus is racist or you of course since you watch the boondocks.

And no i dont date trans dudes becayse they are men im not gay, this is what people complain about with yall forcing dudes to be gay. And whats the difference between not dating because preferences and not dating because they are trans its the same thing. I dont date men nor men in surgical drag. If you wanna do it fine but yall get offended for nothing if yall left them alone guess what they would too. You say we dont want them to exist but they you skip over that they force people to be gay or they dehumanize them. But trans people ,alot of them went and harrassed super straight people saying tgat they will forcefully have sex woth them and their families, and then un alive them. But we straights are the problem.
