    • HOW TO change ukulele ...
Second Video - start at 3:25 to learn how to make one big knot rather than two small knots to prevent the string from popping through the hole
    • How to string a Ukulel...
17 The ukulele does not have:
    a) Binding on the body - not a showstopper.
    b) A pickup and jack - an alternative to having a pickup installed is the Dean / Markley stickon pickup.

Just got one in UK £70. What a bargain, beautifully finished and a beautiful sound, very bright.

Fabulous review!! I'm thinking maybe the sandpaper is enough to make the frets smother on the sides? Thanks for the great great review!!

Thank you so much for the review. I've been looking at that one comparing to the kala 8 string E. I've heard complaints that the chord strings for harder to press down for sound on the Kala. What about this one? I have a friend who has an 8 string that is not longer available and it extremely easy to press on the chords strings. I sure would appreciate your thoughts. No one mentions the closeness of strings to bar or how hard it is or isn't hard to press down. Thank you so much...Cely from Florida

I realised why this uke's strings go through the deck. They used to have a tiebar, and sometimes the bridge broke. The tension of 8 strings is much more than 4, so it is safer to put them through the bridge (and deck).

the sandpaper (so I was told) is because sometimes the frets are sharp when you slide you hand up and down the neck. So I guess you can smooth the frets off by yourself with the sandpaper. (hopefully this would be done at the factory)

Thanks. Got it! I did order an Aklot Banjolele with frets that cut my finger - I did fix that with a fret file. I think the sandpaper would not have been enough.
