Do take the ferry from Galveston to Point Bolivar and back. You might see the dolphins following the ferries. Also, it is free because it is part of the Texas highway system.
*Don’t forget 😊
Also really? I didn’t know that! That’s so cool! I want to see some dolphins!
And go to the Bolivar Lighthouse
I saw dolphins when I rode it!
And the old fort. Really a great trip all around. I spent one day just riding the ferry back and forth several times and walking around the lighthouse and fort.
When you get to the ferry landing stay in the right lane and park in the free lot and walk on the ferry. Ride it to and from Port Bolivar.
My wife and I live in Austin and have been traveling to Galveston for vacation on a yearly basis since 2013. It’s a great vacation destination and very affordable.
"Galveston is a real city that just happens to have a beach" rather than "a beach town that is just a beach town". Really interesting way of looking at it and we completely agree with that logic 😅
I hope it's nothing like Atlantic City, which is a Casino and slum with an ocean beach.
@@annabellebeckwith9283 Not At All
@@annabellebeckwith9283 to be honest, besides the paddle boat and the water park. Is really overpriced for what you get. My kids didn’t like it either.
@@annabellebeckwith9283 no casinos in texas except on indian land
@@annabellebeckwith9283 Howdy! Galveston has slum areas, like most modern cities, and it has a beach. Most of us BOI (Born On Island) types tend to avoid it because of Houston tourists. They tend to treat it as their personal back yard where the law doesn't apply. Municipal Judge Tommy Youngblood was quoted as saying that the average Houston tourist (back int he 1950's and early 1960's) came to town with the clothes they were wearing and a $10 bill, and didn't change either over the weekend. Live with it Houston, it is your reputation. Galveston, Galveston business, and Galveston individuals have worked long and hard to improve the city to draw tourists from other parts of the state and country.
Galveston also has a port with three cruise ship terminals for multiple cruise ship lines, ship and oil rig repair facilities, various cargo piers and wharves, and various piers and slips for shrimping and fishing vessels.. It has the absolutely HUGE University of Texas Medical Branch (Galveston campus) with multiple teaching hospitals, research labs, and a first rate trauma center. It also has the Texas A&M University Galveston campus, a maritime institution teaching marine transportation (ship's Captains etc), marine engineering (ship's engineers), marine systems (bridges seawalls etc.) engineering, marine biology, marine fisheries, and etc. Oh yeah, and there is a vibrant multi campus Junior college for undeclared majors, two year Associates degrees, and vocational certifications and training..
Galveston also has an annual Mardi Gras celebration with multiple parades and parties, the Dickens on the Strand weekend festival, the Lone Star Motorcycle Rally, and the Historic Homes Tour to name a few seasonal things. Summer type weather usually runs from about late April till late September so there are many things to do outdoors for most of the year. The fall, winter, and spring are usually mild compared to most of the country.
The written history stretches from the Spanish and French explorers until the present. There are many museums, attractions, and a couple of historic homes districts, as well as the historic Strand district. There are no casinos left though.. Back in the 1950's they closed down the Maceo gambling places/dinner clubs, (where Frank Sinatra once worked as a bus boy). But the Maceo's still serve a fantastic muffelatta sandwich (special bun, Italian ham, salami, Italian cheeses, and a green olive relish) that simply can't be beat. Best with a Shiner Boch (a Texas "beer").
These are the perceptions of a retired cop (1979-2019) who worked the area and still lives on the Island. Y'all have a great day and come visit us when you can.
As a local of Galveston I really appreciate the "don't feed the seagulls" comment!
Fr but all the tourists throw food at them and make swarms😭
I’m sorry Annie and to everyone that don’t like the seagulls. But I happen to love feeding the birds 🐦. It a way of life there. Not to be mean, but don’t like it move form there where you want have that.
I feel you annie
@@shaggyolsen2222 seagulls are fine. But feeding them causes them to be more aggressive taking the food of people that aren’t feeding them and bomb them and their belongings with poop. Be considerate. Feed birds at home but not in public. Besides it’s not good for the birds so the only person that’s benefitting from it is you. People shouldn’t have to move because you enjoy creating a menace for others around you.
Feeding the birds should be fine if you’re out somewhere alone where others aren’t. Do NOT feed them at restaurants. Want to feed them at restaurants, BUY a restaurant and feed them all you want.
Im BOI lived here my whole life, and ive also done my fair share of traveling, nothing like Galveston. Love to see people from all over ,come and enjoy my hometown. It has its own charm and u know a native islander when u see or talk to one. Great video, God bless.

As you I was BOI back in 1955 yeah I telling my age lol.... moved away in 1980 and now live in Alvin, I can't get over how thing have changed. My daddy worked for Joe Grasso and Son back than. He ran a shrimp boat for Mr. Grasso.
My brothers are BOIs as well.
Hello, I am from Houston but have been living in Austin for the past 20 years. I am considering bringing the family to Galveston for a small vacation. Can you recommend any affordable sea food places and other fun things to do? Thanks.
@@leaundraeshepherd9170Theres soo much to see and do. Huli huli hut, the spot, shrimp and stuff all have grate food and reasonably priced. As far as things to do. The pleasure pier, moody gardens, schlitterbhan, downtown strain are all go to places to have fun. Our beaches are not exactly the best but worth making some time for.I wish you safe travels🙏.
Galveston is like an Island trapped in Time...the Victorian era!! I LOVE it!! In its heyday, it was "the Wall Street of the West"! That's why there's so much gorgeous architecture and beautiful Victorian homes!
parts of it are, intentionally so, for the tourists. But most of it is not locked in time. E.G., all the brand new multi million dollar beach houses that are being built.
@@nozrep Yeah I’m sure they saved all those buildings in the 1900’s for tourists…
@@chefssaltybawlz Actually, those beautiful "Victorian" homes were mostly the run down slum homes of my youth. They were in many cases almost falling down from neglect. The Galveston slum lord motto has always been, "why fix it up if some schmuck will rent it as is?" Try to find a copy of the old book "The Galveston that Was" to see how bad things had gotten, and then you will appreciate all the work so many private owners put into revitalizing and beautifying those old homes.
lived here my whole life and i have another don’t: DONT litter! Tourists always come and trash the island and don’t pick up after themselves. locals can’t even enjoy anything that we have here most of the time because everything is packed because of the tourists. the least tourists could do is pick up after themselves and help keep our beaches clean.
Yes that’s what I noticed at the beach lots of trash was there a week ago
So rude to go where you’re not even from and just trash their city
Visiting from Omaha for 63 days. We leave everything spotless.
@@AllanEvansOfficial the locals trash it about as much as the tourists
I hate that. We go to Galveston for our cruises and I’ve seen people litter. We never litter no matter where we go and nothing irks me more than litter bugs.
Don't ignore the rip tides signs! Be careful!
Yesssss just like any beach there will be tide, watch out especially for surfers!
The history of Galveston is pretty cool. Pirate Jean Lafitte had a home there and the ruins are still there. New Orleans and Galveston are sister cities. Galveston was likened to NYC of it's early days and the very first newspaper in Texas.
When I lived there; my friend who also lived in the historical east end; her dining room a a cannon ball in the dining room wall; courtesy of Jean Lafitte, the pirate.

Galveston is such an underrated city. I live in New Orleans, and it kind of reminds me of New Orleans with a beach minus the culture. Shame the Hurricanes have destroyed most of their older buildings.
Galveston does mardi gras better than nola
WE still have many older building downtown. My parents house survived the 1900 storm.

" the Pelicans will go to Galveston with that dirty ass water and think they are on a nice beach "
Another don't is don't forget to throw away your F*cking trash when you spend your day at the beach. It pisses us off when tourist/visitors leave our beaches full of garbage.
Wife and I go to Galveston or Bolivar frequently and we cuss the idiots leaving their trash too. We usually pick up at least a Wal-Mart bag a piece full of trash.
I don’t live in Galveston but I have been there. When I went there was so much trash in the ocean and on the sand. I personally picked up quite a bit but that doesn’t make it ok for others to not
Grab two bags for your morning beach walk, one for shells, seagrass, or just your now-empty coffee mug & phone, and one for trash.
Here because of Barkleys rant😂
Do sit on the beach late at night and listen to Glen Campbell’s “Galveston.” Well, at least it worked for me.
Galveston use to be the Elis Island of the south until September of 1900 (The Great Storm of 1900/ Isaac’s Storm) Category 4 Hurricane hit the Island killed about 6,000-10,000 people which is why Houston’s ship channel grew a lot also
yep
I was born in Galveston but my family settled in East Texas. I have always been drawn there and visit often all year long. It is so peaceful and believe it or not it’s quiet on the beach during off season. My wife and I have decided next time we purchase a home it’ll be in Galveston.
Lived in Galveston for five years. The whole island is a mystery gravitational hot spot. It has incredible energy and super special. Our daughter was born there and will forever hold the title "BOI" helping us to stake our claim on the island.
My beach! I live in Houston and grew up going to Galveston and Crystal Beach. We still go and love it! Not blue water but, I would miss it if we ever moved!
Lol, that was going to be one my don'ts...DON'T expect white sand and crystal blue water like other areas of the gulf, but it's still good.
What kind of water is it?
@@ovh992 Brown most of the time because of the waves churning the brown sand up.
@@ovh992 the brown waters help for great shrimp. we've had some weeks of blue water, but the brown is better for the sea habitat
Oh...but boy if I love that water!!! It is very refreshing. We also grew up in Houston. When we were in school during the summer, we literally went every single weekend in June and July. We finished our days with dinner at Shrimp and Stuff. Doesn't get any better than that! I miss those days.
POV: this just randomly came in your suggestions and you’re from Galveston area.
The Rosenberg library in Galveston is a great visit too! At 2323 Sealy. The staff there is helpful and amazing.
Saw a ghost in the attic of the library when doing the steel ribs install for the air conditioner relocation. Welders eyes were big as saucers. Just a moving body sized mist against a darker bookshelf.
Theres paranormal activity all over the island and pellican island too. Pellican is where the 6,000 bodies were taken from the 1900 storm. ( hurricane)
It caused 4 ' of sand to be pumped on the island to raise it. And the 17' cement seawall.
Working nights in the shipyard you could hear a woman scream about once a week. Never could find her.
Lived there in my late 20"s from the end of 99 until 05. Pretty much the most fun i ever had. The Strand has something going on pretty much every weekend. A few of my favorite restaurants, were Branco Burrito, The Original Mexican Cafe, Rudy & Pacos, The Spot, and the Cajun Greek. But there is LOTS of fantastic food on the island, just ask a local what their favorite is and you will be set.
The Spot is literally heaven, i have gone there every time i go to galveston
I love this video! I'm B.O.I and just love this Island. The energy is so clean and refreshing. No matter where I roam Galveston will always be my home.

@@RetiredSailor60 I was not raised here, we moved back a couple of years ago. My mother was raised here, she is in her 70s. I LOVE Galveston and so glad you made this video! While the beaches aren’t like Florida or the Caribbean, it’s still the ocean and a peaceful place to unwind with a sea breeze. The Strand is probably my favorite part of Galveston with all the shops & restaurants. 😊
I've lived in the Houston area most of my life so I was waiting... to hear you say not to feed the seagulls. Thank you for this important public service announcement!
I love Galveston and have been takeing vacations there for years. You mentioned the state park which brought back memories of a vacation that we planned several years ago. We decided to stay in the state park in a shelter, bad idea real bad idea! The state park is on the opposite side from the ocean and we were the only ones staying there. There were signs beware of poisonous sea snakes . There were mosquitoes big as bats that hot all inside of our shelter and we got eaten up by the mosquitoes. After the second night there we left for a motel never to stay in the state park again
There are no poisonous sea snakes but plenty of rattlesnakes
Galveston is like New Orleans with a beach! I love it. So many good restaurants and coffee shops. And the art galleries!!!! Don’t get me started .... one of my favorite things about Galveston is how it’s so dog friendly. I take my dog everywhere. He loves the beach.
Which restaurant are dog friendly? And beach ?

Wife and I 2nd this.
I’ve surfed Galveston beaches for years, mostly at 61st, 27th, 37th and the Flagship pier. I used to get out of class at San Jacinto College at 1030 on Tuesdays and Thursdays and be on my board catching waves by 1130. I’d stay from sunup to sundown as often as I could.
Lots of great places in Galveston. A lot of great bars and shops have come and gone on the Strand. Mardi Gras were always fun. As a surfer it was sad when Galveston put parking meters (a tax on the poor) all along the seawall. The city likes to tax people who can least afford it. That stopped me from going to Galveston for years.
The east beaches were once a great place to camp for the weekend but you can’t do that anymore. And the city started charging to go to two of the larger east beaches. The fees weren’t to clean up anything. The beaches were clean. Instead of nice unobstructed beaches the city put up barriers in many places. They are an eyesore. But they make the city a lot of money.
Be careful though my friend, lots of Great Whites out there 😱😱😱😲🙏
I absolutely LOVE how positive you are in your videos!
Even the "Don'ts" are hidden DOs 🤗
I'm visiting Texas next week and your videos made me even more excited to go!
My favorite thing in the world: spend the day at the beach in Galveston and end the day with dinner at Shrimp N Stuff....it doesn't get any better than that!! Thank you for this video!
I lived in Houston back in the mid 00s and used to go there a lot, I love all of the history.
Another don't for Galveston beaches: don't forget that rattlesnakes hang out in the sand dunes

Wow I’ve had this exact nightmare before, I still kinda wanna go to Galveston tho
I'm going to Galveston in June. Rattlesnakes? 🥺
@@sharon22669 The dunes have been known to have rattlesnakes. Stay on the beach & you'll be fine.
I love biking downtown Galveston, easy to access , love taking pics of the old historical buildings and cemeteries.
Spent a week there 2 summers ago. I rented a bike and biked the complete Seawall a few times. Galveston is one of the most beautiful cities I’ve seen and has a unique history. Learn all you can about the 1900 hurricane to fully appreciate the history . Learn about the Galveston Mafia under the Maceo Family.. learn the legends, ghost👻stories, and the blend of tragedy and heroism. There’s so much to learn and see just on the island!
I’ve watched you for years how did I miss a Galveston episode?? I live 45 min from the island but the traffic keeps me away. Great shots of the sea wall!
As a local I love this..and thanks for mentioning the seagulls.ugh my biggest pet peeve about tourists. Please don’t feed the seagulls! It’s like visiting New York and feeding the rats. Also don’t drive slow. We are still Texan down here so those rules apply. If you want to see the water on the sea wall, pull over! Locals do live here, and though we want you to enjoy our island, we still have to get to work, or get home from work! Follow the traffic laws, they’re the same as houston! Also when going to the ferry, stay in the left lane. The right lane belongs to the locals who live there. We can’t get home if you are blocking the road! Other than that enjoy the island!
Do they have bird watch there? I am expecting to see some Pelicans!
Beaches is the last thing I think of when it comes to Galveston. The sand is rough and we get all the Mississippi River backwash so the water is brown and muddy. Now the town itself is actually awesome and I see why people live here but it was never the beach that brings me to Galveston. The beach does still give a nice view.
Enjoyed your excitement on your presentation. Planning to spend a whole weekend there and this will help me to look for the interesting things you mention.
Appreciated!
I'm moving here in a month! Thank you for the video. Now I know where I can go explore!
@Fawk3s its pretty! Been here about 2 weeks now, just a lot of rain!
Pretty cool seeing someone talk about my hometown where I live currently
I live in Houston and have a condo there don't forget about the cemeteries that are oddly right in the middle of the town which have graves of people that died in the Hurricane in 1900.
Another person mentioned Galveston is basically one big cemetery because of that hurricane. I had no idea when I visited last month! Considering moving to Houston, if I do-I am going to be in Galveston constantly-I LOVE the beach
Don’t forget Murdocks down from pleasure pier on the SeaWall
DO: go to San Jacinto Historic Point and watch the big ships go into the shipping channel.
I'm from Mississippi and lived in Florida for years and have to say I love Galveston more then I did Keywest and the islands of Florida. Actually the whole coast of Texas is wonderful.
Lived there in the 90s... thinking of moving back.
Residents will tell you stories of cars going over the seawall.
You can drive on sunny beach and it’s free. San Luis pass is a fun drive and you can park on the beach out there also.
Sportsman rd is a good drive
I miss Galveston. I drove across the bridge from Surfside and hung out in Galveston on the weekends! I miss home.
We went to the Opera and saw the Barber of Seville on a visit. There is a great catamaran harbor cruise off the Strand. We've visited a number of the homes and seen the Elyssa (ship) a number of times. We have enjoyed Moody Gardens a number times. Go to the tacarías. You won't regret it!
It is weird seeing you in my area after seeing over 50 videos of you literally across the world.
Another don't is watch your step for jellyfish on the beach. Not a fun surprise.
It’s a great places to go the beach water is warm :) I like the duck tour
We are heading there in about 3 weeks. We are actually staying in a beach house on Bolivar for some relaxing beach time then doing trips into Galveston. We do have 1 day trip planned for the space center. Can't wait for a much needed vaca
Thank you so much my wife has been bugging me forever about going to the beach & Galveston is the closest one to us. I didn't want to make a 6 hour drive just to see a beach but now I see its more than that.
Definitely worth a long drive if you're staying at least a few days. If you've got kids, the railroad museum is way cheaper than Schlitterbahn and Moody Gardens and very enjoyable.
Where would you be coming from? Maybe Orange Beach in Alabama or the FL panhandle would be better, but they are possibly much farther for you to travel.

Is Sea Wolf Park on pier 21?
i did that same vacation with the wife and my kids in the 1980s. i think the SEA WOLF, was sunk during WW2 in the south pacific. radio contact was forbidden at the time, and they lost contact with the sub. THIS park is dedicated to the SEA WOLF, if i remember correctly, that was a long time ago.
We are staying this week in Jamaica Beach with sons 14 and 18 year olds. We are having a relaxing week. The weather is mild we are wearing light shirts and jeans not even wearing jackets or socks this week. We went out for dinner last night 25 December. We walked on the beach 24 December. Fishing off the timber porch at our air b n b … drove around looking at murals on houses and garage doors.
We are from Australia, I grew up in Melbourne and the beach here reminds me slightly of Port Phillip Bay and St Kilda beach… we currently live in Montgomery Texas, This was a week getaway for us as a family. Teenage sons think it’s a bit boring. Unfortunately…
Don't leave anything on the beach overnight, even if you are staying on the west end at a beach house - the city is AWESOME about clearing litter.. including your expensive litter!
DO look at allllll the AirBnBs available, not just waterfront/my own place. One of my favorite stays ever was in a 1905 Victorian (with some cool craftsman carry overs). The original claw foot bath (and VERY vintage) showerhead was so amazing I took showers and baths each time. 😂
the strand is hands down my favorite place. beach was just bonus when i lived there
I love Galveston I lived there for a long time and I miss it.
I love your video...I also looooveee the "flying rats" comment lol that's what we've always called them...Another don't to add to your list is don't mess with the jellyfish...growing up, I've seen too many people messing with them and getting stung, just because they're laying on the beach doesn't mean they aren't dangerous...Another don't...don't forget that after the 1900 hurricane, Galveston was built up 16 or 17 feet...so if you've ever wondered why Galveston is so haunted or what they did with all the bodies of the 1900 hurricane, they're underneath you...so basically, Galveston Island, is an island cemetery...My great grandfather helped rebuild the island after the hurricane, so this story and many others have passed down through the years...I'm very proud to say that I was born in Galveston
I'm currently reading, "Isaac's Storm," the book by Erik Larson about the Galveston hurricane of 1900. It's both fascinating and tragic.
And speaking of hurricanes, a warning for visitors. If there’s one coming, and you’re told to evacuate, DO it! The roads need to be cleared for residents to leave. Running from a hurricane is not a pleasant experience. Just saying….
Just went to Galveston beach last Thursday’s and I enjoyed my time their
Don't skip the ghost tours! Even if you don't believe in ghosts, you still end up getting a very interesting presentation of the history of the city.
Ha! One of my favorite things to do is make ghost sounds at the ghost tours! But yes 👏 ghost tours are an amazing way to see our history
We live 30 minutes away. Galveston is such a great resort.
I'm a native Houstonian. I used to go Sunday or Wed. my off day from work. To live in a major city & be able "chill" at the beach (taking about an hour or so to get there) Is some kinda cool. The ferry is fun, Duck Tour. La Kings 4 handmade taffy & hand made soft drinks + Sundaes!!! Plenty to eat drink & explore. I miss the old Strand Emporium. And ohhhh! Yeah Mardi Gras + parades. You should see my bead collection!
I might move to Houston, this will be my exact plan!
Great review. We really enjoyed watching this video even as Galveston residents.
Also 1 key thing: Galveston is the biggest Mardi Gras in Texas and 2nd after New Orleans. Both cities meddled with the French ships coming ashore. Houston doesn’t celebrate it but we do drive down for the parades
i always love la kings ice cream parlor on the strand. They still make coke floats the old fashioned way. For Dickens on the strand whenever i go, i always make la kings a must stop. There are several tour stops about the historic storm of 1900
as a native Texan and Houstonian Galveston has never been "nice" in my life time, the water is always brown sometimes green if you are lucky, and the uptick in the crime rate has made it harder to live there, i know someone who just moved from there for that reason.
Oh no🥺 that’s so sad! Is it really that bad?
@@VASIGTravelingLifeinLondon it’s safe for tourists for sure, don’t worry. I go to Galveston several times a year from Houston. The water is hit or miss though. I wouldn’t get in the water haha

The water is brown, it’s ok during the day with your kids I live outside of Houston and usually go every year for a weekend trip. It is dangerous at night. You have to make sure not to go when there are certain festivals because lots of places will actually shut down because of the rowdy people and crime.
A lot of that that was a great do and don’ts. Me and my wife go to just about almost every other weekend. My suggestion skip Houston to traffic altogether. Go back to opposite way and go to Winnie and to the ferry across Crystal. Is extra 20 minutes longer but well worth it how do any traffic except for going out and off the ferry. Plus if you go to Winnie way better hotels and cheaper food.

You nailed it for the first don't! That's why I love Galveston, it's a real town, not just a beach/resort town. Unfortunately, hotels are expensive. I've never been able to justify the cost of staying on the island, which definitely puts a damper on a visit, as does the awful Houston traffic. I don't find it worth it anymore.
I generally avoid the Houston traffic by using the Hardy Toll Road and the Sam Houston Tollway. Most people straight shot it down I-45 through the core, which is a bad idea during rush hour. Houston actually has a really good highway system if you pay attention to the maps.
Ever heard of highways 3 and 6? They both will lead to Galveston.
Big word of advice. If your looking to go. Don’t leave out the condo options. Those can sometimes be MUCH cheaper than hotels and you get an entire condo to yourself
I just got home from a few days in Galveston. We stayed in Winnie, Texas. Hotel $50 a night. Went to Galveston for the day, it was awesome. It was nice just to walk on the street.
The man who founded my town in Missouri, who is also buried there, used to own San Luis Pass. His name was Moses Austin, his son was Stephen Austin. In the 90s some people from Austin Texas came to my town and tried to dig Moses' body up and take it to Texas where they felt he belonged (Crazy), they didn't succeed and now it has concrete over it. I'm sitting on San Luis pass right now!
Really enjoys this sir , you’re good !
Don't go in the water with an open cut or scratch, the Mississippi and other rivers drain there, hence a lot of dirt and germs. That's why the water is rarely clear.
First evening at a restaurant overlooking the gulf was a horrible red snapper apparent leftover from someone else's meal. Later in the week we had the most delicious grouper fish at a downtown restaurant. Eased the pain of the first impression. Had lots of cool experiences, good food, sunrise walks on the beach, Moody Gardens, exploring, ferryboat ride at Bolivar, Crystal Beach. Great little condo facing gulf, Great people, memorable. Going again in September.
When I go to Galveston, my accommodations are free! One of my brothers lives on the Island near 61st Pier. Lol
Oh that is so cool! Jealous.
Don't forget if you are a motorcycle enthusiasts, they have the Lone Star Rally sometime around fall.
First weekend in November. I use to never miss it. And even with all the heavy drinking, not once did I see anyone causing a problem. Everyone was so nice. Cops standing on the corners, doing nothing, because there wasn’t any disturbances!
Yes, at the turn of the century Galveston was known as the Wall Street of the West and many said it rivaled New York City, especially the port. All of that changed on September 8, 1900 with the arrival of “the great Galveston hurricane“. Galveston tried, but they were never actually able to recover from that set back. There’s some beautiful architecture left from the late 1800s. They didn’t lose everything, but a lot. Galveston was a fabulously wealthy city before the hurricane, and some of it’s still there and fascinating to see! The original death toll from the hurricane was listed at 6 to 8000, but they now realize that it did not include blacks and dockworkers. The revised death toll stands in the area of 12,000 people!
I live around Houston so I always go to Galveston for the summer and for spring break my aunt owns a condo so it’s really easy for us to go we always go to bubble Gump shrimp to LOL pretty good food that would be one of my “do’s” lol there’s also a cool putt putt golf place off of the ocean really fun we do it at least once every time we go never gets old
In Fact I’m going this Wednesday lol
Don’t go out by yourself. Stay with groups me and my freind almost got stabbed by a homeless women trying to rob us. If you have a bad feeling about something don’t go through with it.
When we went, no one told us the mosquitoes were twice as big as their Arkansas cousins! But other than that, I love Galveston!
They only get annoying around spring! The best time to visit is around fall! It’s a good temperature and no animals should really bug you!
And if you want to go fishing and you don't have fishing tackle don't go buy any just go get on to pierce we have several beers off of Galveston and they supply food beer and tackle and bait and they even have people up there that you can pay to clean your fish for you if you want to clean we have the most of the peers or 24 hours and there are a lot of fun and their family oriented even though they're 24 hours is family
❤ it’s like a time capsule. It feels like your a world away you stepped back in time, you can feel the static of days gone but in the air… Some say it’s haunted 😳
Don't forget Seawolf Park, where you can see WW2 submarine and battleship. Also, you can see the half-sunken SS Selma concrete ship from the pier there, and sometimes there's dolphins around. Don't forget to stop by Murdoch's for a souvenir and La King's Confectionary for a sweet treat.
