@@finlaywishart8664 Things must have changed then because when I was with Hereford & Worcester FB we didn't use Dutch rolled hose at all, but that *was* over 40 years ago. Oh shit, I'm feeling really old now!
Fact most retained firefighters very rarely fight fires or attend special services due to exceptional training and education of the public by the whole time firefighters....but hey don't knock it one day .......!!!!!....they are invaluable and when that call comes in its reassuring to know that those men and women are only a 999 call away!!!!!!
Except on wholly retained stations of course, where all incidents on their patch are attended by retained crews. Hereford and Worcester have a lot of wholly retained stations, including the one where I served, which had two appliances and a high risk area with a fuel depot and substantial industrial property.
Keeping people Safe from Fire Incidents.
Great Fires of London. Fireman Sam.
I live in Avon and i love what these guys do i really want to become a firefighter and use their equipment
Im not sure if you are the actual camera person, but if so this was filmed fantastically.
Cheers Joe, appreciate that!
It's a brilliant rewarding job, huge on call commitment needed though
21st Century's Emergency Services.
Something I would love to do myself. Seeing the mechanic on this film has made up my mind!
Dutch rolled hose! Is that the norm on Avon Fire and Rescue?
I think it's the norm for most brigades to have their 45mm in a dutch roll. The 70mm is normally rolled more conventionally
