I'm a retained fire fighter and I love that part of the job where there's someone who is so fascinated by it all, just to see your son loving that short time makes the job worth doing.
hi james,my son has cerebral palasy and he absolutely loves anything to do with the fire service.all through the lock-down when we go out for our daily walk we have to go past the local fire station which is yate fire station near bristol.and if we see the fire fighters there outside traing we whatch and the come and say hello. there all fantastic with him. you all do a fantastic job that we all to often take for granted. i would like to say thank you to all you fire fighters for the job you do and thank you for your lovely comment.
The water tanks are baffled to reduce the movement of water while in motion. My dept runs a 3500 gallon tanker and it rides like a Cadillac on turns and at higher rates of speed. I love driving that piece.
PRLs carry 1600L of water which gives about 20 minutes on 1 hose reel. In which time the pump operator will have shipped a hydrant and augmented the supply to the truck. Using the 64mm main delivery hose you'd probably get less than 5 minutes.
Honestly very little. The roll angle of one of our appliances which is an 18 ton chassis is 38degrees which is 10 more than a double decker bus. You can really drive them hard and be assured you’ll come out the other side of the corner.
United States Firetrucks are like tanks, either move or it plows right through you, theres a video f a firetruck in america driving on the opposite lane on the highway to make it to an accident 30 to 40 minutes faster

do you have a link or name of that video, would like to see that.cheers geoff
That’s also the reason why they have so many fire vehicle involved collisions.
I can tell you everything about a usa fire truck but nothing about a UK fire truck
Your not wrong but who searches youtube looking for a video called fire appliance
it is not fire engine, it is fire appliance
Oh shut up
Is it? What kind? HRP? RPL? Water tender? Water pump?
Well it is a fire engine synonymous with appliance. Or rather and more accurately a water tender ladder. I digress….fire engine.
