      It was good for its time, going back to try and play it can be a bit painful on an actual N64. Funny as kids we didn't notice much the console putting out a slideshow when it gets hectic. That's a 64 with the expansion added too....Many N64 games removing nostalgia don't really stand the test of time.....The Zelda titles hold up well, though majora's mask tried adding too much detail to low rez textures and the games looks a bit sloppy bc of it at times.

      Baby Boomer age. Heard the game being played and the music was heard first. After listening to the same songs everyday from teenagers room went into and notice it was a game. Sat down the room to watch the game. Eye focusing number one. Ability to align a control and take down a target. Levels of play was conversation to get friends to play with them. How hard these games are to get to next level. Had to interrupt and make them stop - go outside...play real live sports.

    • @EnglishTimewithMrChris
      @EnglishTimewithMrChris Год назад +1

      It really was and I don't feel like me saying that is just because of nostalgia. Goldeneye feels similar to Wave Race 64 in that Wave Race created realistic water and then pretty much every game that came after that on the Nintendo 64 water was still just a flat almost 2D surface. The way they designed the AI was on a whole different level from other games and the only game to surpass Goldeneye on the N64 was Perfect Dark by the people that made Goldeneye.

    • @ryans756
      @ryans756 Год назад +1

      The devs were limited by the technology of the time but boy oh boy did they use that technology to create something special. It really is a special game you can play today in 2023 and still smile, impressed at the effort they put in. Add the nostalgia factor for people of a certain age range and even its flaws just become part of the overall charm :)

This game on multiplayer made people come together and the enjoyment people had together was what made old school gaming the best because now people just sit away in there rooms and isolate themselves online, they have no idea what they missed out on in the 90s, them days people came together after school and had proper game nights in groups, kids of today will never have that enjoyment what we had.

There's something dreamy about the maps in this game.. even though there's not much detail and the textures are kind of simple, they did a good job of creating atmosphere.

      You’ll notice how they had to make unrealistic areas to this game, due to their inability to mock reality to the gameplay. I think, even though it’s not realistic - it should be respected in compensation to make a game exciting.
      I find the reload speed highly unrealistic. But character reaction to being hit by a bullet to be more accurate versus newer shooter games. Where the new games have a more accurate reload speed but an unrealistic reaction by being hit by a single bullet (one that doesn’t kill or injure a player).
      They should strive to create the most realistic game that offers excitement.
      Too many shooter games have unrealistic areas - and that shows incompetence to produce a “better” game.
