Have only read about Casull, never heard the name pronounced out loud before. Was he saying it correctly? It's been about 40 years since I've shot at milk jugs. Those ones jumped so far I couldn't see where they'd gone. Thought they'd been disintegrated for a minute there.
There is too much power for a piece of junk gun . the quality control of Ruger has gone downhill, and the metal they use is not the greatest . just hafe to say it, I hate Ruger guns
A . 45 Colt with a 250 grain SWC is one workhorse load. You don't have to push them hard to take game either. I've always been impressed with how large bore handgun rounds running in the 900s are very friendly to shoot and still a big stick for field use on game animals. If you have caliber and weight, you have significant penetration without needing all that much speed to get it.
@@wilmamcdermott3065 Have you ever tried the RCBS heavy SWC? It is nominally 270 grains but I hear they will drop out at closer to 280 grains with some alloys. I always thought that one would take.45 Colt into a next level hunting load.and still be pretty mild at the muzzle.
I've got the ruger super Blackhawk .44 magnum and it's definitely powerful enough for me. That gun looks and sounds like it's used for dropping elephants lol
Love my Alaskan in .454. My neighbor who has never shot a pistol was looking at my guns and asked about the .454 and I told him it was my fishing gun and he says “you must catch some pretty big fish”! When I quit laughing I explained I fish in Bear Country and I honestly expected him to ask if you need a passport to go there.
Great choice! Ruger stands behind their excellent products like few other makers. Twice, they sent parts to me totally gratis for guns that were not new.
@@justinriley8651 ur dumb... .454 minimum. 480 rug, 375 linebaugh, 500 linebaugh.. so many better options than 500 sw.. do you know anything about big bore revolvers lol?
Im french, living in France. Guys, i envy you so much for this right to carry ! I love guns, and would love to own such a beautiful Ruger ! Pure beauty ! And that sound, that power, that scent of gunpowder...love it
Just recently picked up a Super Redhawk in 454. Have only shot it with the Hornady 240 grain factory loading. I've picked up a variety since then and I'm looking forward to trying them all out.
I have the Vaquero 45 Long Colt very similar gun, had you not mention the caliber I would have assumed you were shooting the exact gun that I have they look so similar
Give me a Ruger Blackhawk that shoots like it should and I could go to the woods and not starve. It wouldn't even matter much which cartridge it used either. I've found that the 7 1/2" barrels tend to shoot almost like carbines at ranges approaching 100 yards if you are well tuned up. Those guns are the real working deal for people out beyond civilization.
Hello Buffalo! Is there any similarities (energy wise) between the .454 Casull and a 20 gauge slug? I really enjoy your channel! Keep up the great work!👊
Absolutely beautiful piece of machinery!!! Ruger will always have a special place in my heart ♥!!! But I tend to lean towards the necked down version of the 500 S.W. mag double action I believe it's a 460???? Even though a pistol I still like that extra velocity. But would of course appreciate a removable stock for those distant shots. And with my eyesight a scoped baby girl 👧!!!! And with that kind of recoil at least 3 scope rings mounted directly to the barrel for hopefully optimum accuracy.
Nice shooting sir especially one handed! I love my freedom arms 454. Casull I keep it on my chest when we go hunting in Alaska just in case a grizz wants to say hi.
I'm jealous bro. I've been trying to get my hands on a Ruger Super Blackhawk Bisley for about a year now. To be specific the 45 colt/ 45 acp convertible version model #0475. Can't find one anywhere.
The video doesn't show the muzzle blast or the cost of the ammo. when the gun hit the market it was a big seller for fishing guides in Alaska. A fantastic gun!!
454 is no joke man! I'm wanting to get me a rossi r92 in 454 casull for a self defense/hog gun/truck rifle. Buffalo bore brand I've found is expensive but I've seen precision one brand jacketed hollow points in bulk. 500 rounds for 590 bucks. Not a great deal, but it's a helluva lot better n 80 bucks for 20 rounds lol. I'd just like to see someone do a review on precision one brand ammo.
454 is Very powerfull. 68 years old. Still shooting mine
It is a POWERHOUSE for sure!
I use 4227 in mine 300 grain gaschecked hard cast 24 bnh

Man I think this is gonna be my next firearm purchase. I just love the process of classic revolvers.
My totally favorite revolver…I have a pair in .45 Colt I use in Cowboy Action …plus they handle heavy “Ruger only” reloads like a champ 😎😎😎
The Casull is a beast. I'm 70 and I fire it from my Taurus Raging Judge snub-nose revolver.

Yes i shoot 45 colts out of my ruger vaquaro at just under 1000 fps plenty of punch

The only issue with slow loads is the lack of range. That’s where these wrist tweakers come in handy.
Use 300 grain hard cast in my ruger vaquaro . Befor i bought my 454 i was loading 250 grain hard cast to 1400 fps
Ruger makes the prettiest revolvers!
They do make some beauties!
intel, they go KB on you. junk guns . save your money and buy a cult or something else that is not such a piece of 💩
I carried one as an armored car security guard back in 1983 . Had a 10" long barrel. Loved it.
I'll bet they can't do that nowadays ? Too bad
454 is a bruiser with wood grips! Awesome Ruger brother. Tough and beautiful wheel guns
Holy.....I didn't expect that power!!!.....AMAZING!!! SMILE ON MY FACE
Glad you enjoyed it!!
you can always expect a solid video from buffalosoutdoors
I appreciate that!! Thank you for watching!

Ya. Mine too. 🤣😂😃😂😊👍
Any revolver Ruger makes is worth having. This one is outstanding.
I think the 454 be great in a lever action carbine 😊
It's out there.
Rossi 92 can be in 454 Casull.
Beautiful gun! I've got the super redhawk in .454 casull and it truly is one of my most prized possessions.
👍👍love revolver Wednesday, especially when Buffalo is shooting them.
Glad you like them! I love doing it! New one goes up tonight!
Sounds perfect for someone out in the wild. When you need the first shot to count.
Absolutely!
Ruger really nailed it with this one. Beautiful smoke wagon.
Now,that 's a fine pistol Buffalo,sir.Ruger =Power+Beauty 💪🎯
I Can't imagine a Mother just after giving birth saying, " I think I'll name him Buffalo. "

This is the EXACT Blackhawk model I'm hoping to acquire one day.
How much do they typically cost?
Me to doubt i can afford anything that nice tho
The .454 Casual is the best pistol for trying to kill a Grizzly bear in self-defense 💥
no but it's better than nothing.

Where I come from we call that A WHOLE LOTTA GUN. Got 3 Rugers. All three are great guns.
That kick, is *almost* enough to deter me from really really wanting one. Almost.
I've had these in about every caliber they make.
That's a beautiful gun.
Got the same setup but in the short barrel. Fun gun.
Mine is .357 mag, beautiful revolvers.
Nice Revolver
You should showcase one of those experimental revolver rifles they tried to make popular post ACW like Colt’s New Model Revolving Rifle
Took the skin right off your hand, freakin gnarly as hell, I want it!
Beautiful revolver. Takes a Real Man to one hand it. 👍 ouch!!
Curved handle allows slip and works well to diminish recoil energy.
Thanks for that Bill!
Not really. But don't let me kid you. It takes a ferm grip.
@Bill Dye ... or possibly amputee shooters?
