  • Ranking #Skyrim Major Questlines. I considered only the:
    Bards College,
    College of Winterhold,
    Thieves Guild,
    The Dark Brotherhood,
    Dawngaurd,
    Dragonborn,
    The Main story,
    The Companions.
    Civil War
Those were the only quests that a have a long and back to back quest following them, so I didn't end up adding any Daedric Quests to this list.

I think the main issue is how Skyrim wanted to be everything! They really should not do all of these things and focus more on the qualitied quests just like the dawnguard! Serena is litereally an alive character and have so much dialogues!

I think wanting to accomplish a lot is fine but I agree with your point that focusing on what was the games strengths would’ve changed a lot here!

Touching the Sky is my favourite skyrin quest ever, I just love the forgotten vale and for me the boss fight against Vyrthur is a lot more tense than the fight with Harkon.

@@TheAshenMage Ty! For me it’s the fact that Vyrthur literally orchestrated the prophecy to take revenge on a literal God, but Harkon only saw it as a way to stop his skin burning in the sun. Also I am quite sure and IDC who says otherwise, but Vyrthur would have smoked Harkon in a 1v1, I mean Vyrthur literally brought back frozen falmer from the dead, kept the falmer from killing him for thousands of years AND quite literally brought the roof down on the Dragonborn!! I also think as a whole.
And (idk if this makes sense) but Touching the Sky as a quest and especially the Vyrthur fight feels like something out of a TV show and I can’t help but every single time I complete it, I almost act like it’s a TV show because it’s so immersive. And also the fight with Vyrthur for me feels like a season finale to a TV show because it is so epic whereas Harkon feels like something you would get at the start of a season of a TV show to tie up loose ends of the previous season.

Imagine if Alduin could do more Shouts and breathe more than one element, like Lightning or have some kind of Earth elemental breath. I feel like he should have multiple breathes at the very least, to keep you on your toes. Maybe, even some kind of Darkness/ poison breath.

The major issue I have with Dawnguard is that I feel like it was written mostly with the vampire side in mind (see how all the promotional material shows a vamprire dragonborn). It's to the point where the story sometimes doesn't make a lot of sense while playing as a Dawnguard.
You find Serana, who carries a FUCKING ELDER SCROLL WITH HER, and you're forced to deliver her to the vampires, even if you want to side with the Dawnguard. And just to rub salt in the wound, Isran calls you out on it. Yay.
I mean, sure, she'll betray her father later, but it's not like we had a way of knowing that. Being forced to give your enemies an Elder Scroll of all things kinda leaves a sour taste in my mouth whenever I do it.

I guess I can see what you mean but also the vampires side is the least fun one narratively if you ask me, it doesn’t make you feel heroic or even decent it makes you feel outright evil, and Harkan’s reason for fighting you doesn’t make much sense🤷🏻‍♂️

For the past 10 years I've been playing Skyrim, and not until like 5 years later I've found out that the Bard's College even existed. That's how bad it is.

Your ranking is quite agreeable, but I personally feel that Frea from the dragonborn dlc is just as good, if not better than Serena. Any chance your next ranking video will be on the followers?

The DB questline is good but I've done it exactly one time just to see it. I don't play this type of game to roleplay as a murderer who goes around shanking homeless people and widows. That's not heroic and it's not very fun.

Dawnguard is the worse by far imo.
The plot is nonsense, the characters are badly written and the dialogues are childish.
The whole thing sounds like a therapy session in the form of a fanfic written by a 13yo girl whose parents got divorced.
I pretty much agree with the rest, although I would put Dragonborn in the first position.
