What Each SOULSBORNE Game Did BEST?
The books are great everyone should read them
@@Disco.starter agreed 🔥
I’d say this game is about 50% garbage. Not completely terrible but still
I just started Witcher 3 for the first time, after watching this short I went and changed my Geralt’s look - long hair and clean shaven - looks ugly as hell compared to the cool haircut with stubble but you convinced me it’s more lore-accurate lol
@@czcrossman Witcher 3 is the continuation after the books end and the games gives justification for every change it makes even the beard 😆. But if you want to go full geralt mode it’s a good mindset 🪒
I wouldn't say his description is "ugly" in the book just very menacing and uncanny "milk white hair" "pale skin" "dark eyes" and a "unpleasant voice" now the skin and hair are spot the eyes in the book are descriped as dark and unpleasant to look him in the eye as well as his voice its course and rough because there is no emotion behind it. The majority of the time its monotone, he is muscular but its stringy muscles. Hes not nessicarily ugly ugly but unpleasant menacing and uncanny to see for the first time the beard thing is true he says it in the games they are itchy and annoying especially when lice are involved
I recall Geralt being at a dance, and a woman sashays up to him and is all for him, until she sees his eyes. Geralt lets her go, because he understands he has freakish snake-eyes. Cultured women and sorceresses, however, are all into him. One even observes he's the first man to interest her in decades. The Triss and Yen thing is also very much in the books, and Triss taking advantage of Geralt's amnesia to usurp Yen's place is also very in character. Right about the beards, though.
TBf most of these things aren't even "differences from the books", they're things that CDPR took as a natural extension of things form the books. Geralt is never really described as ugly; just weird because he's pale, has odd hair, and strange eyes. The Yen/Triss conflict kind of exists, but Yen was the clear and undisputed winner before Geralt lost his memory. His dislike of beards is mentioned in the games, and his preference is made clear in dialogue.
ahhhh no...the triss and yen conflict is pretty prevalent
In books? More about triss being without a spine and doing what lodge says without question but geralt Is not really interested in her
@@Just_a-guy no triss is insanely jealous of yen and she fucks geralt because she wants to take everything good yen has and make it hers. she has an entire internal monologue detailing this. and when yen finds out she holds that resentment till the end
Correction. The Yen every other sorceress who hasn’t sworn off men conflict is real in the books.
@@AnelFissures I dont recall this inner monologue can you point when? And still My main point was that Geralt wasnt interested in her so we didnt have conflict like in third game. She wanted Geralt, and slept with him before books but thats it. She also hated when Vigo said that she banged him but I dont recall any moment when Witcher was thinking about Triss in any romantic way also he didnt thought about Triss in negative ways so for sure didnt take any of her actions as "too much/evil" She was far from perfect and wanted Geralt for herself, also was bad friend (if even a friend) to Yen but I dont recall any love triangle between those three
Wouldnt translate good into a game? In a game you can do so much more than in a book
Yes but the romantic tension I mean, and how emotions come across. In books it’s easier because they can be described easier than in a video game that’s majorly acting, not that it can’t be done it’s just hard to translate.
@@TheAshenMage there are mechanics where you can just show the internal dialog of a person
He's not described as ugly, tho. He's freakish and scary because of his unusual paleness, but there's a ton of women who are attracted to him. Also, Geralt and Yennefer's relationship is not all bad, and there's a real development where they end up being actually happy before the Rivia incident. Also, the beard thing, they address it in the game, too. Most of the time, people read one or two books and start thinking they know more than cdpr, but they do know what they're doing.
He isn't also described as handsome to my knowledge and a lot of ladies in books has other reason to be attracted to him. Some likes scars, some likes gossip about things that he can do in bed because of his mutations and some like triss described likes how witchers "vibrates with magic on contact" so it can easily be that he is also ugly but have enough other "redeeming qualities" that some types of woman finds incredibly attractive
Bro, their relationship is terrible. Have you read a Shard of Ice?
@commonsenseless9894 I've read all the books, and a shard of ice is a story of the second book. A whole lot of things happen after that. If you read all the books, it's clear to see the evolution in their relationship, and how, at the last book, they put away all their differences and understand each other better. The timeline of their relationship is vital to the whole witcher story.
@@isaacvalencia126 tbh there isn't that much more in later books, they are for the half of them apart without ways of communicating and they love themself and care about each other we never saw them being together for a longer time In the books. And love in Witcher world is more selfish and often destructive than in most story so ... I would say they are passionate about eachother and that's best I can give
@@Just_a-guy I think your interpretation is shallow, sorry.
necessary sacrifice
Well, the guy who wrote the books stole most of the ideas from another book he translated
Not true, man. People always believe this because some Elric fans got upset, but it's not actually true. There were a few ideas in the creation of Geralt's character that were heavily inspired in Elric of Melniboné, but the stories and the worldbuilding, even Geralt and Elric, are completely different. People just like to discredit
Elric in general has been major influence in the fantasy genre. Geralt is not the only character that was inspired by moorcock’s work.
If you think Sapkowski lifted from Elric, what about GRR Martin?
It is hard to find fantasy that isn't heavily inspired by older books. Like from Tolkien for example but overall I wouldn't say geralt and elrix are so similar. One is outcast, mutant that is made superhuman and second is king of different race that is weak and has to use herbs or sword that eats souls to be strong plus uses more pacts with demons than killing them
If I remember correctly, in the books he is with Corale and later bound to Jennifer through the third wish. Triss rapes him. He also has an on-off relationship with the doctor.
Yeah it’s pretty interesting seeing that the geralt of the first game was more similar to the book one
As the games went on he became more handsome 😆
Become a werewolf and get the ring. Traveling as a wolf is fast and fun, and you don’t die from the cold.
@@DiscoNun24 ohh smart
Skill issue tbh. Honestly not that hard Once you get the hang of it.
Probably because, despite bearing the name of Dark Souls, it avtuslly doesnt have relation to the games or publisher at all.
@@themuffinprincesa21 there’s an estus and bonfire in the books so it’s official alright 🤔 but no I doesn’t feature classics ds areas
@TheAshenMage just having those doesn't make it official at all. It isn't sponsored or has any affiliation with Bandi or Fromsoft. The author that wrote the book, Michael Stackpole, writes books that use multiple series such as gears of war, star wars, WoW, Conan, & battle tech (along with others, but he's most known for those). None of them are Canon to their respective universes because he doesn't have to write to use the actual story or characters, but can write his own stories in the universes. He is essentially a professional fanfic writer. That doesn't mean the books are bad, but it does mean their 100% non Canon. In the book you're referring to, only the elements that can be free use are used to make it dark souls. Bonfires, estus, and mention of hollows (but not the undead curse), there's nothing else. No talking about how hollowing came to be due to the pigmy, nothing about any gods using lord souls, no mention of the cycle of fire, dark, or ash. The main character even has a constant internal monolouge as if they were an action hero throguhout the book. He helps another main character find keys to awaken a king from his sleep to set the kingdom right. He also doesn't follow the lore way of hollowing & brings up that hollows that gain souls also regain their memories of who they are as a person, which we know is 100% not the case. I won't go into everything about the book, it will be hit or miss for most people to read, but it clearly isn't Canon to the series if you've read it. It does have an okay structure & a decent overall feel of the souls games, but lacks any impact & has certain things mentioned about how the world works that just outright go against established lore in every way. Again, it isn't bad. To say it's a Canon book to the universe is tenuous at best though
@@themuffinprincesa21I can see what you mean but I also doubt Miyazaki wanted him to rewrite what he had already created so apparently he didn’t give him rights to any of those and just had him write a one off Dark Souls novel. 🤷🏻♂️ In my personal opinion if a company allows the publication of a story which is set within their universe to happen it is 100% canon, yeh it might be a far off land, which has nothing to do with the old games but it’s the same IP and uses the fundamentals of DS so to me it’s canon. (like ds2 didn’t address a lot of stuff that happened in ds1 but it’s still canon)
Very interesting
🔥🔥🔥
On my first playthrough I enjoyed the Thieves Guild quest the most
@@nam6282 that’s a valid take
Elden Ring should've been half its current size, or never had 50+ dungeons/bosses that are the same. I cant name a single repeat boss that should stay in the game, after you kill em all theres no reason to again. I kill around 30 bosses total now, because I'm not killing 400 erdtree avatars, nights cavalry, or fighting godskins like 5 times again
To me Fire Giant was the boss that I just wanted to kill and get rid of as soon as possible since I just hated fighting him. In terms of a boss I enjoyed beating it was Certainly Consort Rhadan since once I beat him twice i had beaten a boss harder than Malenia. I also enjoyed fighting Malenia as well. Messemer and s certainly my favourite of the DLC though.
The first actually hard boss was the rot queen herself until someone said just keep hitting her with someone else to stun her and that’s that
Fire giant first phase just run in and out hittin the leg, second phase ride torrent and just make swipes behind him till hes dead lol, kinda cheesy but makes it easy
@@Zombo645 ye still takes three business days tho 😂
Very nice
Thanks mate 🔥🍀
Facts fire giant was hardest when me and my boi were running around as nakeds lmao (also had to cheese him first time around lmao)
100% without any status effect he’s gonna take 3 business days to take down 😭
for me he was one of the easiest boss fights in the game

Gael is a top tier boss

Fromsoft peaked at bosses with ds3 and ill always defend it, also gael is my all time favorite video game boss
@@traoz7489 100% brother
I would say it started with Bloodborne, because we got gems like Orphan Of Kos, Gehrman, Ludwig, Lady Maria, which are considered for many to be some of the greatest bosses made by From (despite Bloodborne have some pretty weak and boring bosses, Shadows Of Yharnam and Logarius are great too, tho). But without doubt Dark Souls 3 leveled to the top, still have some of the greatest bosses in gaming history
idk if ill ever have a better time against a boss than i did against nameless king

Weaklings with no will😂😂
I have seen a ton of people hate on mikolash for his running, i haven't fought him yet so i cant say if its bad for me, whenever i get to him i will report back here (probably will take awhile though since i have no idea what im doing currently)
@@Death_CrowYT that’s normal just enjoy exploring and take in the atmosphere. He is near the end of the game so you won’t have to deal with him anytime soon. Which bosses you finished?
@@TheAshenMage my most recent was the blood starved beast
@@Death_CrowYT okay that’s good, you are still early game, have fun with it mate 🍀
New souls player here this year i just starting playing them first time. Beat ds1 beat ds2 and now half way thru ds3. The effigy system is actually one of my favorite parts. I was disappointed to see nothing like it in ds3. At first i hated it because it made it harder. But it grew on me because well i actually WANT it to be as hard as possible. If there is any way for them to make it harder im all for it. Thats why my ds2 first playthrough and my next will ALWAYS be played on covenant of champions . I was also disappointed to learn there was nothing like this covenant in ds3. So far im halfway thru ds3 is alot easier than ds2 ( but i also coulda just gotten better) people who complain about this are the same people who would lower the difficulty if they were able to .
@@jaden9990 that’s a valid take brother

Bloodborne is my favourite soulsborne game!!!
Let’s goo!! 🔥
@@TheAshenMageWhat's your favourite soulsborne game?
@@SigmaAlphaMale4567 I jump around between ds3 and Bloodborne
The first and yhe last dragonborn
I remember before I played everyone saying it's the worst one. My only issues with it was obviously the rubber band grab attacks that clearly missed and the whole leveling to get s
"Instead of a desolate place it's more like a fairytale" This so much. I love how dream-like it feels like.
for me what makes ds2 stand out from the other fromsoft games is how elegant the builds are. the way buffs work means that strength/dex players aren't punished for not using them, and i love the way each magic type interacts since you can basically choose one of sorcery, miracles or hexes then have pyromancy on top. you can play pure strength, dex or quality without worrying about magic at all, then there's hex/pyro, magic/pyro and faith/pyro builds which all give a ton of variety along with powerful infusions, buffs and unique weapons. two handing is also way better in ds2, rather than giving you a 1.5x strength boost it just halves strength requirements and increases the motion value of attacks, so non-strength builds can get the full damage boost by two handing and don't need to invest as much strength to use bigger weapons
This game's underrated from what I've seen, although some of the complains were true
Dark Souls 2 game was my first soul game experience - later I tried every soul game that I could dks1,3, sekiro, bloodborne, elden ring - but I kept constantly coming back to this gem.
@@hanagasaku1193 ds2 was the forth one I finished, first being ds3 but I come back to the game all the same the game has charm
Effigy system isnt as bad as it seems. Its literally a better system to embers in DS3, only this time you see the health that you loose and you loose health over time rather then after a death. You also get tons of effigies, a ring that halfs the negative effect of hollowing (which you get in the early game btw) and in the late game you can become immune to hollowing entirely with the crowns. Instead of thinking of hollowing as "Im losing health when i die" think of it as "i gain health when i use an effigy", literally like embers.
It literally isn't a better ember system, you are in fact, having your base health halved and embers boost your base health, and no, wasting a ring slot to partially fix and issue that shouldn't exist isn't a good thing, I liked DS2 but trying to act like his obvious flaws doesn't exist or aren't flaws at all is ridiculous
@@wolffmetrax7064you need to die 10 times to lose 50%, and when I played ds2 I had like 15+ of them for 70% of the game
@@ryszarrates3697 Dying isn't exactly hard in a souls game so you can easily reach half health, also it makes your character looks like shit since the first time and loosing max health even if it doesn't reach 50% still sucks in a game were you are expected to die a lot.
