Only reason peeps dislike SS was the motion controls, other than that the story, ost was brilliant. Once you master the motion controls the gameplay is awesome as well
this is the best soundtrack in zelda history they really put so much into it hopefully we can get more rememberable songs as much as i love BOTW and TOTK the soundtrack wasnt really giving as much as this one was
When I was in middle school and playing Skyward Sword for the first time, I'd go to the sand sea and stand around just to listen to this music. I'm guilty of doing it even now as an adult, it's one my favorite themes in the whole series.
Gerudo Valley used to be my favorite desert theme in all of Zelda but I think this one definitely takes the spot and rightfully so…. Absolutely amazing 🙏
I admire how well they did all of this. The present time music sounds so mournful and solitary, while the past sounds a bit more energetic, but still a bit lonely and nostalgic. It’s perfect! It sets the tone ideally for the past-present feel. It makes you wonder, though. Just how old *IS* the world of Legend of Zelda, exactly? If even the Bokoblins are running around with top-notch weaponry, then how advances is this? And this isn’t even the present time! It’s the past! Like centuries into the past! These futuristic electro-swords and high-tech laser-shooting Beamos are OLD TECH! And then we have other games that are way into the future, by thousands and thousands of years! Like Wind Waker. It’s been so long that nobody remembers much about what it was like before he flood waters covered Hyrule. People know the legend of the hero from Ocarina of Time, but nobody knows for sure. Nobody remembers. And then there’s Breath of the Wild. So far ahead of Wind Waker that the floods have receded, and they’ve had time to invent new tech, and then forget how to make it! And that’s a long time! Is the kingdom of Hyrule like 30,000 years old?!?
Its probably much, much older, my personal thoery is that the sheikah have divine knowledge, so unlike us who have to build our knowledge over generations, they are always at the same level of high technological advancement, they just dont have the infrastructure to build cool robots in certain parts of the timeline like OoT.
@@Glamuel SAME. I honestly really, REALLY hope we see at least something akin to that with TotK... (...like, .5% chance, I know, but would be. So Cool.)
One of the most bad ass/ saddest moments of Skyward Sword. U sail the desert sea to find the ship, with the help of the time zone... and to also discover Skipper's family and crew were long gone :'(
I stayed on the ship for a bit after defeating the boss and getting the flame, and I had the thought of hitting the Timeshift stone on the mast that affects the whole ship, so that the crew could be restored. But when the ship is in its past state and undamaged, there’s electric guardrails on the ladders that you have to use to climb down. I was forced to turn it back off to leave, and even though it sounds silly, I felt really bad about it.
Those “dinging” percussion sounds actually sound like the metal support beams of docks and small boat lifts. If you’ve ever ran across a dock quickly, your feet have probably caused the structures to make that sound.
Im doing my first playthrough right now, and its not so bad. The only thing i sorta hate is the motion controls having to reset them constantly but its a pretty good game and this song slaps
I wouldn't call it the worst as a standalone title, but collectively it presents a massive paradoxical writing that only lore nerds care about. Did we really need to involve gods and reincarnation into the franchise? NO!!
Was playing this while my brother in law was on psilocybin shrooms and he was so relaxed and in a state of euphoria he starting tearing🙂 he had a great trip
The ancient civilization (sheikah?) which built the robots and all the abandoned buildings is so interesting to me. Wish we could learn more about them and their origins.
It's also interesting that the Moblins of that era were so advanced compared to the ones were fighting the rest of the game. They're wearing actual armor and using shock batons.
My working theory is that it was the zonai, given the information we know now. Zonaite is bluish like the timeshift stones when activated (I know they have the sheikah eye on them, but keep in mind that the zonai are also very connected to eye imagery, and rauru's third eye has the same shape when open), they had the technology to make sentiment robots that carried out mining operations, both use blue streaks of energy to connect their segments, and we already know they had massive mining operations in the depths. They also had the original temple of time before it was raised into the sky, much like the sealed temple and the temple of time in the lanayru desert.
Gerudo Valley used to be my favorite desert theme in all of Zelda but I think this one definitely takes the spot and rightfully so…. Absolutely amazing 🙏
@@williampatrick2971It used to be an huge lake in the Soviet Union that eventually dried up because of irregation projects. All the rivers that fed it were diverted and it caused the lake to shrink to the point of reaching desertification in some places. Pretty spooky stuff.
The only reason I don’t like the motion controls is my nunchuck has a bad connection, so if I get into a sword fight Link decides to get mad cow disease, has a seizure, decides life isn’t worth living, and runs off a cliff. And then I have to unplug and replug my controller stuff. Or I did, until my nunchuck broke. Now it won’t work at all.
@@MysticalMrCool Agreed, HUGE difference for actually being able to do anything reliably. ...that and Fi not being so pushy about explaining and monologuing about EVERYTHING.
People can say whatever they want to say about Skyward Sword, but no one can deny the power of this soundtrack.
Its my first mainline zelda game and it has to be my favourite, the soundtrack has stuck with me my whole life
so true bro

I have so many issues with Skyward Sword, but it's ost most certainly is not one of them.

One of the best “gaming moments” from me absolutely has to sailing here
it was and still is my favorite part of the game
The whole time shift stone mechanic in this game was amazing. Made for so many memorable moments

id do the same but with the temple of time in OoT
I’m literally on here to listen to this song because I love it too!
Agreed
I did the same thing with dragon roost island on my gamecube
I remember the Christmas I got skyward sword. Still a treasured memory
One of the best themes and areas in the game
Franchise*
Gerudo Valley used to be my favorite desert theme in all of Zelda but I think this one definitely takes the spot and rightfully so…. Absolutely amazing 🙏
I just LOVE this music for some reason. I LOVE the airy fluty instrument
sounds like pan flute and oboe

Skyward Sword easily had one of the best soundtracks in the Zelda franchise as a whole and no one can convince me otherwise.
So relaxing, i play this song everytime my anxiety gets high, one of the best music in the game
This theme just feels like how an ocean of sand looks.
Those “dinging” percussion sounds actually sound like the metal support beams of docks and small boat lifts. If you’ve ever ran across a dock quickly, your feet have probably caused the structures to make that sound.
Every summer for the past 3 years i've been doing playthroughs of skyward sword, i dont intend on stopping
I gotta start doing this myself, such a good game
Every time I hear this music it is just so calming idk why people say this game is not good but if you here this theme it changes you life
Playing this for the first time ever on Switch and wow. This theme is putting me in meditative state while playing. So good
I can’t believe people are calling this the worst in the series and absolute clowns 🤡

When I heard this song, I instantly knew that It was a banger
This is beautiful. The flute reminds me of that first jungle level in Hitman Codename 47.
it's repetitive but it's still one of my favorite zelda songs
This quest is actually really sad considering the context
It sounds like it's being played on a flute Link found among the debris from Lanayru's past, with a hole that causes air to leak
Beautiful music and great game.
This place was so cool
Best moment in the entire game for me
exceptionally valid take
Honestly both this song along with Twilight Princess’s Snowpeak are probably some of my favourites for this series.
This song feels like it would play when you’re riding a motorcycle through the Sahara desert.
La verdad skiward es un juego muy infravalorado
En muchos sentidos

Rip Robot Captain and his family 😭
So nostalgia
Perhaps my favorite track in the game. That is seriously saying something too. It's so soothing. This game gets far too much hate.
Funny thing the timeshift stones have the same color of the ocarina of time
I think it's on purpouse
There is probably so much hidden under that sand, and now I'd bet it's all completely underneath gurudo valley in botw, how many layers are in hyrule
Millions of years.
Gerudo Valley used to be my favorite desert theme in all of Zelda but I think this one definitely takes the spot and rightfully so…. Absolutely amazing 🙏
We be deconstructing villainy with this track
The Spirit Temple Remix I never knew I needed.
Best outdoor area in the game in my opinion
Best area in the game
Makes the sand sea sound a bit cold or windy
billy and mandy at the first few seconds
Quando eu cheguei nessa parte, fui até a casa do almirante e vi as cartas de seus filhos, com essa música tocando... Não deu pra segurar a lágrima.
How'd you know I just started Lanayru Sand Sea?
imagine
I don't know why this always reminded me of Lost In Oz
Ok. I grew up with ss. It would be better without motion controls, which you can do in Switch! Ss doesn’t deserve hate cuz it’s a good game.
It’s amazing how a Wii can run this game at a sharp 60 fps
(The Wii spec-wise is essentially a beefed up GameCube)
The Wii ran the game at 30 fps 😉

People can put down the game as much as they want, I wont care, but the moment they put down the soundtrack, they're gone. 🤨
Its odd that this is a legend of Zelda track but sounds kind of like a Pikmin soundtrack.
Which track?
this entire game just MM
i only dislike the motion controls everything else is just yES
Thank God for the Switch HD release. As a Zelda fan with one hand it was my first time I really got to enjoy this game
