For the last 12 years, everytime I come back to this track, I immediately want to play this game again. I can't believe that it's been this long. Some of you guys hadn't even been born when I preordered this game, and that's just nuts to me. I mean it was only yesterday. I still have my gold nunchuk and the CD soundtrack, and my wii copy of skyward sword ofcourse. I hope that I can always have these experiences with Zelda games for as long as I live. 1995 till forever baby
Same, this one track keeps visiting my head from time to time, just like how this game is now 12 years old, it perfectly encapsulates how time flows, like the sand so present in the area. Things will never be like they were back then, but then again, i suppose we should look towards the future rather than miss the past huh. (Having a great time with Tears of The Kingdom right now, considering everything)
+Cool guy 49 I dont hate the game but I will say its one of my least favorite of the 3D Zeldas. felt too linear for a Zelda title, It sacrificed open world exploration for gimmicky motion controllers that barely worked for me half the time. the story wasn't that bad, I'll give it that.
I enjoyed the controllers. much easier than ninja reflex, which i beat twice. I even made a workout routine with the boss battles. It is lighter than my practice bokken also
People just like to hate, man. Twilight Princess got a huge amount of hate when it was released, but now people are loving it. I think as time goes by, people will start loving this great game, as well. Zelda games age very well
This theme fits the area and plot so perfectly. Traveling a now abandoned sea which was once home to gangs of pirates, vast waters, and schools of fish. And now, it is a old desert of the past, living in the past as it it used once more, before being put back to an eternal rest.
Picture this: Cruising on the vast sea of nothingness. You lean over the side of the vessel and gently place your hand in the rippling water. You feel the coolness of crystal clear water..but something is different - you realize you can feel your hand brushing sand. Feel it stroking your fingertips as the vessel continues its monotonous pace. Yet how can this be? It's warm. But the water is cool also. You open your hand out wider and feel the past and present flowing through your open hand. Realization hits you. It's the memory of the water you're feeling. The memory of what once was, and never will be again. Your hand is dry yet feels wet. You lift your hand out of the water and feel the fluid dripping. Feeling. But not seeing. The fabric of time has been blurred to your whim as you journey to retrieve your means to defeat the looming threat and save your friend. Your beloved. Your people. Your world.....
My god. The nostalgia. This makes me want to play skyward again for the first time in four years. I don't know why, but for me skyward was the game that I just want to return to and to be sucked into its world again.
Michael Riley - Yep, this same tune made me come back to Skyward Sword after about a year or two of not playing. Even started a new file and got to the Sand Sea in about a day in a half, or two days.
Tell me, do you ever feel a strange sadness as this song plays? :) Loneliness always pervades the tune. I love this song. I feel so alone when I listen to it
+Cameron Reyno The whole Lanayru region has a sad tune in it because you get to venture through the past and present of what became of it. The poor little robot guys.
I imagine this to be the moment when link, now an old and broken man, looks back to what he accomplished back in his youth (kinda). He thinks back to his adventures, finding Fi, battling Girahim/Demise and saving Zelda, who became a princess, but then gave the title to her daughter. Realising that there is nothing ahead of him except death, he passes his duty of saving the world from evil to his young boy dressed in green, mysteriously named after him. The boy then finds himself in the events of Minish Cap and the cycle of a boy in green fighting evil continues forever.
Nintendo should make a game where the player can play as an old, white-haired, white bearded Link similar to that of old Snake in the MGS series (that could potentially turn out as the worse thing to happen to a franchise since Metroid: Other M on second thought lol). Maybe he shouldn't be initially old though. Maybe one game transpires through Link's entire life. Maybe he could travel through time similar to in OoT, but to an aged Link instead of just turned adult Link. Then, he could travel back to child/teen hood when need be. I dunno, it just sounds like something fun and fresh for the franchise (although I absolutely adore it as it is).
Brendan Matthews Technically this happened in Twilight Princess [SPOILERS] It's theorized that the golden wolf is the link from Ocarina of time/Majora's mask, considering that anyone who gets lost in the woods turns into a stalfos, and it also explains why he is so skilled with a sword.
This is the song I like to listen to in my head while reading “The Horse and His Boy” by C.S. Lewis, especially at the part where Shasta is at the tombs.
Gerudo Valley used to be my favorite desert theme in all of Zelda but I think this one definitely takes the spot and rightfully so…. Absolutely amazing 🙏
This makes me feel sorry for skipper the robot. He lost his entire crew millions years ago and is trapped in a fossilized state for eternity. I can only imagine the memories that would drive him slowly insane... when I saw the picture of him with his crew i wanted to cry... it’s like real life all good things are passing away and nature is dying... soon all that’s left will be barren soil... an homage to a paradise we failed to preserve... I hope to the stars that an afterlife exists and that in that dimension evil can finally cease...
This song is so fascinating and really inspirational!, It gives me the inspiration to paint a boy departing on a quest through a mysterious wasteland to find something precious, something the boy can't remember, something that has been locked away for along time, that he can't find, but yet still tries to find it.
Glide upon sands of time, Glide where seas once lied, Across a course so fine, Across the sea that died, This one once rich of brine, Vast expanse which held life, This ancient sea of time. Let light touch here, A sight endless, Let time give steer, Brave knight fearless, Conquer the bleeding sea, Traverse the long dead sea. Let time give steer, Brave knight fearless. (Repeat.)
Jeo Bahrnes there could have been tons of other tracks that they could have made for this part of the game and they went with the track that lulls people to sleep im serious when i say it puts me to sleep i'll be playing the game at 12 noon then get to this part and immediately im knocked out when i come to its 5PM EST
Jeo Bahrnes another song that makes me drowsy is the puni theme from paper mario 2 the thousand year door i know it sounds far-fetched because of how loud and obnoxious the puni theme is but for some ungodly reason it to puts me to sleep
I could listen to the Skyward Sword soundtrack all day, and it wouldn't get boring! It's just so calming and peaceful. It reminds me of all the years that have gone by and all the years that will go by, all the things I've lost and all the things I will find, everything in the past and in the present.
I know people don't like Skyward Sword, but the great thing about every new Zelda game is that it always tries to distinguish it from it's predecessor which makes you appreciate the latter more in retrospect. BOTW had a huge world with plenty of NPCs which is great but sometimes I miss the simplicity of Skyward Sword's world and places like the Sand Sea.
Actually, it only took a few centuries. The actions of its past inhabitants - stripping the land of its natural resources and doing nothing about the byproducts from their factories (such as the Lanayru Mining Facility) - resulted in severe climate change and transformed the area. It's something we can see happening in our world today. If it weren't for the polar ice caps, our oceans would be gradually drying up as well.
This is the first Zelda game I ever beat, and the funny thing is I didn't even know about the game when it was released. My aunt saw Zelda on the title and thought it was the game I was talking about. I gave it a try, and it was definitely worth it. It has to be one of my all time favourites.
Idk why all the hate on this game. I thought it was amazing : ) For people to look on all the "bad" things instead of praise all the wonderful things in this game such as the music, characters, and story is just unreasonable. I'm tired of hearing people complain about "the motion controls were horrible," or "fi was annoying" ........ummm Two words for that. "Hey listen". This game will forever be overlooked on all it's beauty and uniqueness. oh welp.
you forgot about the issue with stamina. Spin slash one too many times, and game over for you if your health is low and/or you don't have a fairy in a bottle. Same goes for when you are trying to run through an area (something I LOVE doing). you can't do anything except slowly move around.
ok i know im 3 years late to give a comment on this but this is probebly my favorite zelda game, like you said the story was amazing! dude i get tears listening back to this soundtrack. i feel so lonely yet realaxed when im listening to this.
yup! i just beat totk and went onto skyward sword HD and honestly the only thing botw and totk have going for them in terms of charm is the art style and thats it, every thing else is just banal and repetitive, especially the music. sure the mechanics are advanced and more nuanced in the newer games but so fucking what? skyward sword's puzzles and obstacles were way more fun anc creative, the character interactions felt way more meaningful, and the music was gorgeous.. something i cant say about recent zelda
I swear I hear one song in this game and it's like, "Hey... do you like... wanna nonstop play this game until you get everything.... again?" I'm over here like "God damnit."
This and Lanayru Desert (Past) are my favorite songs in the game. Many others feature on my list of favorites, such as Fire Sanctuary and Farore's Silent Realm, but the Lanayru Desert area themes are at the top. I actually play this one at work to calm my thoughts and help me focus.
I love this music so much. I always like to imagine this playing at an empty Chinese harbor at nighttime. I have no idea why, but that's the first thing that comes to mind. The ambience just seems to fit so well!
People are saying this game sucks cuz of the Wii motion controls, when that all depends on your personal experience with the controls, so you can’t go saying it was a bad game based off that reason alone. I’m a hardcore Zelda fan so I like any Zelda game regardless of its issues, well almost all of them, curse those wretched CDI games. But anyway, since I was willing to give the game a chance, I eventually got really good at the motion controls. Also, this was supposed to be a more story-driven game cuz it’s purpose was to explain the events before oot and minish cap.
The motion controls aren't that bad once you get used to them. For me, I wasn't a huge fan of the game's absurd handholding, like Fi telling me where to go instead of letting me explore. I also would've preferred the game to be a bit less linear. I know Zelda games have always be somewhat linear, but most of SS feels like the tutorial segment of TP: a straight line one way from your house through the village to the ranch, and the only other route is a straight line to a nearby spring.
I feel, empty after beating those games which cannot be played after ending the story, so all the games before BotW are pure nostalgia, the adventure is only played once and cannot be extended.
This is going to sound weird, but I think this song would be great to listen to during labor. It's quite relaxing, and the flute melody would be easy to focus on during contractions. :)
Aren't Wii Us about the same price right now as the Wii was during its production years? Obviously, I don't know what your living situation is like but I thought I would mention it anyway.
Ik this vid was posted a while ago, but I gotta say this is one of my favorite themes in the Zelda series, it is also very relaxing to me, I even sometimes listen to this when I go to bed, and lemme say it really does put me right to sleep. Oh btw, lemme also say that I think its really a petty complaint to say that the wii motion sucks, cuz I have played through this game tons of times and have had little to no problems with the wii motion controls, except for the very few occasions where my game decides it doesn’t want to work. But that alone wasn’t enough to ruin the experience of this game for me. And sure, I may have not been too great at the game when I started, but the reason I love this game is because I gave it a chance instead of bitchin about how the controls suck
Tbh as someone who has played botw and loved it but can't believing he is saying this. Yes and not just this game. All of the classic adventure driven Zelda's especially when it comes to storyline and dungeon items. Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, Ocarina of Time, Majoras Mask, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks. All these games had unique tribes to them and exploration. BOTW wasn't trying to tell much of a story but that's just it. I wanted it to tell a story lol. It was more you pick up the missing pieces of your past along the way then an actual well fleshed out story with a dialogue driven final villain.
@@toonzelda3353 A few years ago I introduced a friend to BotW. It was his first Zelda game (he was about 27, for reference), and the more he told me how much he loved it, the more I came to realize something which I think is important. Namely, for people who have played and loved prior Zelda games, BotW was varying degrees of disappointing because we've become familiar with the "Zelda formula". And we love it. And BotW didn't use it. But those who have never experienced the Zelda formula have no preconceptions of what a Zelda game should be, so they can more easily experience BotW and TotK as just games. I mean, my friend beat BotW 9 times and loved every playthrough just as much, while I, a Zelda fan of 20 years, enjoyed my first playthrough, struggled to find any joy in the game after beating it once and gave up early in my second playthrough. TotK was much the same for him. I didn't even make it to the final dungeon. I think most of the people who criticize BotW are real Zelda fans, and most of the people who don't have either only played BotW/TotK or have only played maybe 1 other Zelda game 15+ years ago and don't really remember it.
Lucy: why do we have to be stuck in the freaking desert? I'm hot, I'm sweaty, I go sand in my shoes. Erza: quit complaining! At least you're not wearing any armor! My skin is beginning to chafe! Juvia: you know if you want I can cool you all down with my water magic. Me: that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Juvia. Juvia: it's my pleasure my darling Toad.
this game is the best of best so is the sound tracks if only they can make the games more like this like really but there making a new Zelda Game this saturday it might be fake but they are XD
When im alone, there are times i wish this song could follow me around all day... like a theme song, except not really. Because then i would get sued for copyright, or slowly die of depression, and its not everyday i get to wear a poncho and wander in the desert with a perfect orange sunset in the backdrop and watch eagles soar by dust clouds in the distance... meh, nvm
Agreed. But, BotW is an open world game with no loading screens, which makes it difficult to create distinct songs that flow seamlessly into each other. Much easier to make more subdued, albeit less memorable, tracks with lots of empty space between notes. I think TotK's soundtrack was slightly better than BotW's, but neither one holds a candle to previous games in the series.
1:26 - 1:37 Is it just me or does this sound like a slowed down version of a part of 'Battle Against a True Hero' from undertale. just me? ....ok I actually was listening to the song and a part of it reminded me of this one so I came to check....now I'm not sure
As much as I disliked this game as a whole, the Lanayru Sand Sea was an incredible place. Such a vast, limitless expanse, like a desert colossus. Favorite part of the game, and I genuinely enjoyed it. I just wish that there wasn't that pointless mine cart section that reused a boss and literally gave you nothing for it...
Absolutely fantastic. Very good vibe. What can I say? Fantastic please. I love to filming to, here the link ruclips.net/video/Ezt4HIdESaY/видео.html , in case you want to see more. PS: The music my creations to!!
I love how the song fits both endless desert and endless sea

Honestly I wasn’t super impressed with skyward sword back in the day, but hearing songs like this makes me look back fondly on it

In the entire universe 😂👍

It's somber, yet calming. I feel as if I could fall asleep listening to this song.
This theme fits the area and plot so perfectly. Traveling a now abandoned sea which was once home to gangs of pirates, vast waters, and schools of fish. And now, it is a old desert of the past, living in the past as it it used once more, before being put back to an eternal rest.

This theme has a very powerful and strong vibe to it. It fits so well with its environment. This is fantastic.
for some reason I always get such a deep feeling of aloneness when I hear this music and play this stage.
Agreed
Especially when you reach the skipper's Retreat. I mean, the inside of his own cabin made me tear up.
Actually I did too. That was so moving how he just wanted to be back with his family...

Loneliness always pervades the tune.
I love this song. I feel so alone when I listen to it
+Cameron Reyno like the solitary long abandoned mining facility in an endless sea of sand
if you want a game that perfectly sums up this feeling go look up Journey. the whole game takes like two hours and it's a very solitary sort of game

I know Zelda games have always be somewhat linear, but most of SS feels like the tutorial segment of TP: a straight line one way from your house through the village to the ranch, and the only other route is a straight line to a nearby spring.
seeing everything in sand makes me sad
This song is a great background for working from home during the quarentine. It gets me in just the right mood!
exactly what im doing now haha. makes me want to replay this game for the first time in 2 years!
thank you for your uploads MoltenFlarez
I feel, empty after beating those games which cannot be played after ending the story, so all the games before BotW are pure nostalgia, the adventure is only played once and cannot be extended.
played this level while sippin on four roses during working hours. A great time and escape.
How can you sip a rose? There's nothing to sip!
After having crossing Lanayru Sand Sea last February I arrived in a 'parallell universe' where a war broken out in Europe...
This is going to sound weird, but I think this song would be great to listen to during labor. It's quite relaxing, and the flute melody would be easy to focus on during contractions. :)
TheColorHopeIsBlue I agree :)
TheColorHopeIsBlue if people would stop having sex then they wouldn't have that problem
A Lego Man Should be easy for you since lego people have no documented reproductive capabilities.
In other words, _"a mother goes into labor while I play unfitting music"._
Damon Cassada Except this is fitting music? At least I think it is lol.
Dude! Thanks for the link for this! This is one of my favorite tunes in this "Wind Waker" section of Skyward Sword. Heh heh.
Probably my favorite song in the game.
I miss the old life
this song brings allot of sadness to me, especialy how tehy arent making any more zelda for the normal wii, so i cant play any more............
+crimsondark What's stopping you from getting a Wii U?
im poor af
Aren't Wii Us about the same price right now as the Wii was during its production years? Obviously, I don't know what your living situation is like but I thought I would mention it anyway.
well yes they are, but i am in a very poor state atm
Thank you for extending this!
Its the most relaxing music I have ever heard
I've only played skyward sword and twilight princess and I think twilight princesses is the better game but skyward sword music kicks ass
I listen to this every time I study
This is My favorite Zelda music!
Best song of the soundtrack
I love the Morricone feeling this has.
this game is better than botw
Still LOVE THIS SONG
Im listening to it every night for studying and reading. It's like, im in a new world.
The game was extremely hard but the themes were worth it
If you think about it, Lanayru Desert in the past would basically be Faron Woods, but more technologically advanced
Muy bien aporte, muchas gracias! 👌✨
dare i say it?! skyward sword ismy favorite zelda game.
I meditate to this. So relaxing.
Reminds me of the past when i went to the beach,ah the good old days.
The nostalgia... :')
This might be weird but when i hear this i think of a gigantic ruined temple with a deep history
weirdo
i know im a weirdo
i was always the weirdo
Delfinus chosen weirdo by the goddess
+Pizza Poosta 😂
Skyward Sword has one of the best game soundtracks in existence. Keep coming back. 2018 anyone? (Edit 2023)
You mean Twilight Princess right?
Time to FOCUS
THIS GAME IS A FREAKING MASTERPIECE, I JUST WISH PEOPLE WOULD REALIZE THAT INSTEAD OF PRAISING ITS ABOMINATION OF A FOLLOW UP ON THE 3DS!
When im alone, there are times i wish this song could follow me around all day... like a theme song, except not really. Because then i would get sued for copyright, or slowly die of depression, and its not everyday i get to wear a poncho and wander in the desert with a perfect orange sunset in the backdrop and watch eagles soar by dust clouds in the distance... meh, nvm
You doin better these days, James?
Why do I want to play this at a funeral
could you maybe also make from the lanayru desert an extended version :) please
maybe the Palace of Winds from the four swords games?
whenever this song plays i think of twinmold
I'm sorry but with the musics it's way more attractive. It gives each areas a unique ambient. BOTW missed that point
Agreed. But, BotW is an open world game with no loading screens, which makes it difficult to create distinct songs that flow seamlessly into each other. Much easier to make more subdued, albeit less memorable, tracks with lots of empty space between notes. I think TotK's soundtrack was slightly better than BotW's, but neither one holds a candle to previous games in the series.
most likely city in the sky
iiiiiiiimmmmmmmmmmmmm llllllllloooooovvvvvvvvveeeeeee
how does a ocean turn into a desert anyway?
Water dries up, all thats left is sand
Oh yeah......
Lol
+Mama Luigi Then still it's, to say the least, remarkable that the sand level is exactly the same as the water used to be...
Aral Sea in Northern Asia is a real life example.
Does this mean in Oot skyloft still exists or is it on the ground
Where can I get this wallpaper😭
Hi there, please check out my cover of this song here! The Legend Of Zelda ~ Skyward Sword ~ Lanayru Sand Sea Cover by Corneline
1:26 - 1:37
Is it just me or does this sound like a
slowed down version of a part of
'Battle Against a True Hero' from undertale.
just me?
....ok
I actually was listening to the song and a part of it reminded me of this one so I came to check....now I'm not sure
I love to filming to, here the link
