I didn't know the big swords were also motion controlled, so when I actually fought this boss for real it came as kind of a surprise, but it did add to the exhilaration.
God, this battle theme is one of the coolest I've heard from any video game I've played. All I can think about is the terror I feel when Koloktos stands up and slams its massive swords into the ground at you.
Not as good as OoT Ganon battle theme, at least not on an emotional level. This is the theme of an intense battle of epic proportions between two evenly matched opponents. But OoT Ganon battle theme evokes a sense of dread. It's the theme of a desperate struggle between light and dark to save the world from total annihilation. Another way of looking at it is that the Koloktos/Moldarach fights would still work if paired with different music, but the Ganon battle in OoT would never work without the music that was written for it.
I fought koloktos yesterday. Like an idiot, I hadn't restocked on potions, and my upgraded shield was about to break, so I unequipped it. For a majority of the fight I was on three hearts at most, and I prolonged it unnecessarily because I didn't realise you had to use his swords to strike his core instead of the goddess sword. Still a great boss, and an amazing dungeon overall. I really loved the theme (both the OST, and the overall theme of the dungeon)
i was fighting moldarach when he hit me down to one heart. then 0:55 hit as i realized and HAULED ASS to the other side of the arena. i love perfect music timing. especially when it unintentional
Koloktos was the first boss that genuinely gave me trouble. Ghirahim was difficult as the first boss that required me to think about my sword movements, Scaldera killed me once but it was more so because he was annoying then difficult, and Moldarach was childs play. But Koloktos. Koloktos wrecked my shit. He was HARD. Admittedly that was because i didn't realize i had to close the gap to attack instead of waiting for his weak spot to be exposed, but still. Even after that he was hard. Not AS hard but hard
It took me (around 12) times when the game was first released in 2011 I believe? Where I would have been around 13 and I just bought the Switch version about half a year ago and last night I did it first time. Had to come back to hear the boss music.
it"s like SUPER hard to hear but if you listen very closely you can hear the that "bleep" sound right before a guardian shoots a laser in botw . you'll hear it around 2:20 - 2:26 !
Loved the game at launch but now, months later, I realize I miss the more linear Zelda’s sooo much. I do however recommend checking out the boss theme for Colgera in TotK. That’s probably my new favorite boss theme in the franchise. :)
The fact that the guy who composed this hasn’t been anything higher than a “music supervisor” since Captain Toad hurts my soul
That’s how good everyone else is?
@@agent_beta420there are levels
Mario and Zelda music peaked during the Wii era.
This boss was so memorable even after 11 years. The motion controls boss fights were so much fun on Wii.

I struggled with that boss until I realized you could pick up its own limb as a weapon, then thought "You're mine now, B1tch!"
This is the best battle theme in all of Zelda history
definitely in my top 5 for sure. They put a lot of soul in this song
Not without great competition
@@xavierjohnson2597 c'mon man, its not "song", its a piece of music!
yep

I love how this theme feels heroic but still imposing. Epic melody with disturbing base lines and lower notes.
0:57 some of the best use of Quartal Harmony in a video game soundtrack
It sounds and feels so good !!
That specific part reminds me of Metal Slug
Finally someone who understands, Zelda music is really great at using innovative chords like those
type shit
This sublime battle theme reminds me that I have to play this game once again, 0:50 that part is pure gold sincerely
A theme used for 2 amazing boss battles
This kinda sounds like Super Mario Galaxy
That's because it was written by Mahito Yokota.
Dang it dose actualy
Wait hold up there it actually DOES
Now why would that be?
Bruuuuh I Never noticed that
このボス戦BGMを超えるものはないってぐらい神曲なんだが……ダ・イルオーマのデザインも神だしほんとにテンション上がる カッコよすぎる
All this says in my mind is “Quick! Use the dungeon treasure!”
Nice one
the best boss theme in the series
Great game
Great theme too
Great vegetables.
@snowball stand
I love your Wooper profile picture. He’s such a cute Pokémon!
Wow. Skyward Sword and Pokémon go along, I guess.
They really said let’s give zelda the mario galaxy treatment cause this right here is MAGIC
My top 5 all time favorite boss battle. Loved the design and the creative way to kill it
That laugh still haunts me

I agree
the giant enemy spider
I'm sure they were going to put this music in galaxy 2, but scrapped.
"oh lets put it in zelda instead"
My thoughts exactly. This sounds so much like the track Hurry! from Galaxy 2
Absolute MASTERPIECE
Best battle Zelda theme
Such an amazing battle and theme
this theme slaps hard for an older zelda game. in my opinion one of the top 5 zelda tracks of all time
I can hear that sound effect right when he pulls his arms to swing at you.
This was painful to find💀💀 but thank god I did
When you try to find that spider you failed to kill:

Took me long enough, but this is the first boss I've fought in a Zelda game.
I remember beating Koloktos first try
@✨Lilpuppygirl201✨ Original
Except for Demise I beat every boss on the Wii first try lol

@@sirswanky488For me it was the Imprisoned 2nd and 3rd fight man I cried from frustration
To be honest I was underwhelmed with Demise. It's just 1 fatal blow and the final boss is over.
*GASP* he’s got a sword!
It's strange listening to this without the sounds of metal hitting the floor from Link literally tearing Koloktos limb from limb.
Koloktos is so fricking sick
Songs to have interesting days to... to a point.
Here because the other playlist had the next few tracks taken down
Best TLOZ SS Boss music.Goated
This and Calamities bosses theme from Zelda Breath of the Wild are the top zelda bosses songs
This should of been the boss Battle theme in Tears of the Kingdom
off to my groober strinkle boss hoss music playlist with you!
My favourite boss
Between this and Mario Galaxy, Nintendo was *cooking* in the early 2000s
why this is not in Smash Ultimate I'll never know
Erectin' a disadvantage"

Because Kolotos was infested with malice. So we’re guardians
No Nintendo didn’t add a sound effect ur just hearing things
@@mobileethan245and no it’s not malice
There’s not a correlation bc of the time difference between composition and there’s no correlation in lore

Is this a joke? Totk has the best ost in the series by FAR
This boss is too good for this game lol
