There are so many people who have still not played the last Zeldas that are waiting for the new console to play them
Looking forward to the Nintendo Direct of September 2025 in which they will end the presentation simply showing the opening of Ocarina of Time remade from the ground up with simply the 2026 year by the end of the show and the Switch 2 logo. That alone would sell Switch 2’s for the holidays. And in 2026’s they announce the special edition switch 2 based on OoT remake.
Imagining what an Ocarina of Time remake could look like is difficult because you can't just add stuff from modern Zelda, because modern Zelda is just a different franchise than what it used to be. Like adding sandbox elements or divine beast dungeons to OOT doesn't make any sense and just waters down the design. Imagine if they made the story told through memories... yikes
The game could easily add some sandbox elements, for example, hyrule fields that are kind of empty new clothing with elemental effects. Not everything about the new games is negative.
@@Guts-blood Not everything about the new games is negative, but it's just a wildly different type of game. It would make more sense to add things to OOT that were in Majoras Mask, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, or Skyward Sword

@@Guts-blood "What I will say is that Ocarina needs a linear narrative and a dungeon's order." It was possible to break the dungeon order in Ocarina. You could do the water temple before the fire temple and the spirit temple before the shadow temple. I hope they allow that same degree of flexibility in the remake.
I just hope if they remake ocarina of Time, they do go more in depth with the world and the story. They can even keep the same dungeons and everything but give us a more expansive version of that Hyrule and a more expansive story with voice acting perhaps, and a deeper look into Ganon's side of things.
How did it take 6 years to make totk, but only 5 years to make botw. Makes me wonder if they may have already been working on the switch 2 zelda during totk development.
I think everyone would bet on an OoT Remake. And I wouldn’t be surprised there. But…I’d like to see it with Twilight Princess. I think you could do some great stuff there. Plus it’d be the chance to bring back Midna. Would be insane.
I’d prefer them to hold the OoT remake until its 30th anniversary. I can see them doing something completely unexpected and doing a twilight princess sequel or a majora’s mask prequel.
Ocarina of time remake, add more side quests a new dungeon or two. Majora's mask is the other. Add a longer day cycle plus evtra dungeons would be bomb. Should come right after Ocarina remake. Looking forward to the reveal this week, a long time coming 😮😮😮!
I’d rather they just remade Zelda 1 and 2 if they’re going to pick any. These are the two most difficult to play and undeveloped in terms of visuals and scope and have nerve really been touched.
Give us a fullon 'Ocarina of Time' Remake, not only an upscaled prettied up HD remaster. Modernday graphics engine, new assets, new SFX, a perhaps "updated" OST, heck even a couple of voiceover lines for some of the main characters, one continously connect overworld map without ANY loading zones, expanded story and quests, .... and by all means, the inclusion of the ever elusive URA-Zelda project that was once planned for the 64DD.
They should give us the same control scheme as breath and tears with a few tweaks make the L R and ZR buttons use equipted items such as bow hookshot bombs etc.
I agree with everything except for one. Ocarina’s world lends itself very well to being an open world experience, and it would be a missed opportunity to not take advantage of that.
Ocarina and MM HAVE been remade. It was simply on hardware that didn't have as much more power than we've expected. However all of the models, textures, the lighting etc have been reworked. They've been rebuilt from the ground up. Much like crash trilogy. It simply wasn't as big of a jump as we wished for and kinda looked like an early GC game Oot already was relatively open. There's really no need to make it open world. I could imagine a few tweets here and there like maybe remove the rocks from the beginning of Zora river so that I also could do child dungeons out of order, but aside from that I'd say oot is open enough as it is.
I would want the game to be a remake of Ocarina of Time in the same sense that FF7Remake/Rebirth is a "remake" of Final Fantasy 7. Fully voiced, cinematic to the extreme, and oh, btw, little clues here and there that Child/Adult Link is getting the strangest sense of deja vu... Ocarina of Time already had time travel in it, after all.
Remakes of Ocarina and Majora that add more areas, items, weapons, armor, etc. Maybe even some more main story (for example, a Sheik playthru option after you beat Ocarina, which was originally planned for the official release). And of course side quests which they can run wild with due to time travel (the mod Voyager of Time did this if I remember right). And a Zelda II remake as Chaotic Holy commented.
If Nintendo does remake Ocarina, I wonder if they'll take some notes out of Final Fantasy VII: Remake's book and change a few story beats. Ocarina already involves time travel and alternate timelines, so there could be some interesting story potential there. Perhaps we could get a backstory for Dark Link, for example, and some more screentime for Sheik and Impa. A common criticism of BotW and TotK was they lacked a strong narrative, so Nintendo could address that by really expanding on Ocarina's story, which undoubtedly had elements cut to the limitations of the N64.
I agree with your point. As of right now, it IS a bit hard for me to think of a reason to immediately jump into the next Nintendo console, but would be quite interested if something like this turned up. If they did remake Ocarina, however, the main thing I would be dying to see improvements to is the combat. Honestly, Master Quest never caught my interest because even though it did add some enemies, it didn't really do much that would make the combat more engaging. They'd need a remake for that to be on the table, and if they did, I hope they wouldn't slack on that. I'm unsure if they would actually do such a thing, since it's always such a back-burner element for them. I would personally say that, because it's such an old game that players know inside and out, an expansion of this nature is warranted. I would sincerely hope this doesn't end up being a 'let's remake OoT in the Breath of the Wild Engine', specifically if it resulted in combat design being carried over. I'd honestly prefer a copy-paste of the old combat over that. :/
Honestly, I'd love to even just have a remaster of Ocarina of Time with gyro aiming and camera stick functionality. I'm replaying it right now on my 3DS (given the improvements over the N64 version) but would love to have it on a bigger display or my TV.
It's my opinion that if a remake has ANY code from the original game, it's a remaster. Diablo 2 Resurrected is a great example of a game that was presented as a remake but was really just an ambitious new coat of paint on the old game. An OOC remake would be an immense project. I think it's more likely to be the original OOC with all new assets and modern control scheme. In my book, that's a remaster.
I would love an Ocarina of Time remake so long as it has more content and a larger map. What I would love even more though (and OOT was my second favorite game until BoTW was released) is a completely new Majora's Mask. The time travel mechanic was awesome but not perfect. Part of that was due to hardware limitations. I'm talking about a complete remake with lots of similarities but a completely new game for the most part. One difference I'd love to see is the ability to travel in time in much smaller increments. That in itself would make the game so much better. I personally didn't mind the tedious waiting too much but I know a lot of people were very turned off by that. I would like to see a longer period of actual gameplay before the reset too. ToTK bloodmoon scheduling would be perfect. Make it to where you really needed to keep up with the moon cycle to know where you are in time. I'd like to see a BoTW and ToTK item collection mechanic with the bank storing *some* items for you. Like imagine needing to collect star fragment type items to upgrade but you have to collect them during one cycle or you'll lose them... that would give a sense of purpose and questing even to something like collecting items. Basically I'm saying I'd like a ToTK type of game but with a revamped time travel element and the blood moon meaning imminent destruction. 😅
I don't know, I still don't really see the point of remaking it especially if it's meant to be a showcase for the console, that would imply work from the Zelda team itself and would only delay an original episode. It could be just me not being very enthusiastic about the prospect though. My idea would be for Nintendo the to reveal the next Zelda game in jan/feb and have a big massive trailer in june for the anniversary. As for released maybe a bunch of remasters, maybe a collection of the Super Mario 3D all-stars type. Maybe even a remake but I'm rather seeing A Link to the Past getting the treatment, something Grezzo could work on its own with a solid blueprint. Though really, it could even be a brand new 2D game given what they have done with EoW. But I'm not seeing the Zelda team doing anything that wouldn't be a brand new 3D game. The console needs that too much. Also all those things, they would be Switch 1 releases with enhancements on the Switch 2, no need to cut off a big part of the potential public that soon. I could even see them releasing some sort of enhanced Switch Lite, something that would be more of a handheld than the enormous Switch 2.
Ocarina of time is a open world game, yall kids need to actually play it and explore, you don't have to walk a set path, you can do dungeons in different order
Could you imagine nintendo trailer ... navis voice hey... hey... listen! Ocarina plays... all hell breaks loose people myself including would loose thier minds
I know Nintendo likes to release one legend of Zelda whether it be a remaster, a remake or whatever once a year. What I think would be really cool is that we get the remaster or remake. Sorry that confused those two. Of Twilight princess for the switch 2 this year. And then on the 40th anniversary in 2026 we get a combo package or something like that involving hd remasters of wind waker or basically all of the 3D Zelda games. And that way it is both backwards compatible. And you know new generation compatible. But if you but that's not to say you can't build a remake ocarina of Time and release it also in 2026 on the 40th year anniversary and release it on its own Accord. So you would have one released this year. You would have the whole 3D HD remastered collection released which is backward compatible for the 40th anniversary and you would have ocarina of Time. Remake also released for the 40th anniversary and that would only be available on switch. 2. Same as the remake for Twilight princess. And you can change both of those around. But I think it sounds like a cool idea.
They haven't done an OOT style game since Skyward Sword so idk if I'd trust that they'd get it right. And remaking it in the style of BotW wouldn't even be OOT anymore, it would just be OOT themed BotW
all i want from an ocarina of time remake/remaster is Elden Ring graphics, iron/hover boots as items, and complete control over the camera like from skyward sword wii to hd. under no circumstances would i want a jump button included as that would take away from core gameplay elements from ANY zelda game pre-botw. and as cool as a new dungeon would be, im very skeptical about it, because i dont want it to subtract from the original story nor add anything stupid or unnecessary, and with the current direction of the zelda franchise, it seems that would be very difficult to accomplish.

Calling it now, Adventure of Link remake
Forget Zelda. They need to remake Skate or Die.
'Ultimate Pokemon Remake' next please!
It should be link to the past in full 3d
Would love a Twilight Princess remake to be honest
Ocarina of time is a open world game, yall kids need to actually play it and explore, you don't have to walk a set path, you can do dungeons in different order
The Oracle games need remakes.🤞🏻
I’d like to see both OOT and MM remade. They’re both great games but I’m not a huge fan of their art style.
I want Link to the Past and Chrono Trigger with DQ 3 2H-HD treatment 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Ovarina of time 4k remaster
I would Love to play a 3d open world, The Legend of Zelda remake and Zelda 2: The Adventures of Link remake 😊
A ground up brand new Ocarina of Time! or Remake of the 1st ever Zelda 1987 to honor the series!!
Ocarina of Time for the 3ds was a remake, not a remaster. It was all new assets
I would love to see twilight princess. Ocarina would be great as well.
I truly wanted a Perfectional REMAKE of✝️Zelda II: The 🗡Adventure of Link💚 for Nintendo Switch 2, 🤞🏾HOPEFULLY-WISE🙏🏾!!!!
Yeah I think it’s time for Nintendo to slow down on making new Zelda game and remake old Zelda game instead
Could you imagine nintendo trailer ... navis voice hey... hey... listen! Ocarina plays... all hell breaks loose people myself including would loose thier minds
I'd rather they just remake the first Legend of Zelda for the NES.
I want the original Zelda or link to the past done in botw/totk style
I want Zeldin Ring.
Looking forward to Star Fox being ignored for another console generation
Great idea! Every bit of it
If it's Cel shaded I don't care.
It has to at least look like FF7R bare minimum.
If we can the a remake one the level of Resident evil 2 remake That is the ultimate remake haha Just a dream
hi AndresRestart
Breath of the wild in 4k would be a good way to kick off the system. It's my most favorite game and I have both strategy guides for Botw and Totk.
True…i will buy it with my god damn money.
Would I love a oot remake hell ya. It's my favorite zelda game. But your expecting way too much lol.
I don’t think he is at all but I think he’s expecting it too soon. I’m expecting it for the 30th anniversary which is basically 4 years away.
@JohnnyMacs19 um... Feb 2026 is 40 yr anniversary.
We need a Skyrim remake
5:24 yes 🤪🤪🤪🤪
Or it can be Ocarina pt 2!!
Regardless everyone will still say the original one is superior. I would rather have a new game than remakes anyway.
😂😂😂😂if this true nintendo just flexing now bro this will be huge
I'm pretty sure OoT 3D was a remake, though I could be wrong.
👍👍👍😁😁😁
Zelda 2 Remake in 3d or OoT reimagination Not Remake. I cant Play the Same Game for the 100th time with better graphics and 4 Minigames extra. No Interesst in that.
OoT Remake
