  • The KEF LS60 Wireless is truly a speaker system that looks as good as it sounds. Designed by Michael Young in collaboration with the KEF design team, this contemporary design defies the limits of audio performance with its iconic slim structure. The LS60 Wireless was launched in celebration of 60 years of sound innovation with a focus on the future high-fidelity experience.
    Featuring the 12th Gen Uni-Q, Uni-Core and Metamaterial Absorption Technology all within an incredibly slim package.
    As an amateur audiophile and long time fan of KEF HiFi, HQ were kind enough to loan me a pair of LS60 Wireless speakers for one and a half months to see how they compared with my LS50 Wireless II.

    Great vid! I’m stuck between these or a traditional set-up with B&W 805 D4s. I’m leaning towards the money savings and simplicity of the KEFs, but I worry of “missing out” if I pass on the B&Ws. What a great problem to have!

      @@user-vq3rv1sz7j I've always admired Weber products well before they became Weber Workshops. I don't use this daily, it's more for special brews. I love analogue things, even though there are much more precise, time saving tools to grind coffee, there's something intangible and theuropedic about using a manual grinder, especially when it's a Weber.

    Amazing channel - I have the 60's in white also along with two subs - yes two - and even though my girlfriend has a Lotus Elise S1 we are not tempted to swap for the just released Lotus green edition as the subs are only available in White, carbon or grey. Kef supports Lotus in car Hifi for anyone wondering.

      Thanks! Sounds like an impressive set up, with x2 KC62s? I attended the launch of the new Lotus Edition LS60 a few days ago (blog post on my website), they look incredible in person!, the colour-way is very alluring. But non colour matching subs would also tick my OCD too. Haha

      @@themrgumbatron Exactly so - how about a 'car Hi-Fi' channel? All the superior brands are attaching themselves to Auto brands - Naim, Meridian, Bose, Kef, Harmon Kardon to name a few - but how good are they? For instance I have a Range Rover 2013 model with the 1700 Watt Meridian system and the subs under your feet in the front really pound the floor - but it still doesn't 'sound' like a Meridian system which is what I had before the Kefs - and I used to sell Naim and Linn years ago but it probably doesn't sound anything like I fear - ie not like a Naim or a Linn - those brands in the Hi-Fi world have a certain detached sound from the mainstream brands ;they have a snap and rhythm all of their own and it's a love it or hate it thing - and I hated them. It would put me off buying a car with that brand of Hi-Fi and yet I could and probably would be completely wrong about it. For Hi-Fi enthusiasts we know these brands, the crossover between luxury cars and luxury car Hi-Fi is not too much of a stretch of the imagination - and then there is the source - I know through my own experiences that Deezer High Quality works better than Spotify. At Home I use the highest possible quality playback and everyone I know has switched after hearing it. In the car however i have to go down the quality ladder one notch because the signal can't keep up - how many people are using the luxury element of their car Hi-Fi branding but playing inferior quality music through it? Deep questions my friend - deep questions.

      I just ordered in white as well. I heard the KC62 doesn’t add very much to the 60’s, and a bigger KEF subwoofer is needed for an impact.
      It seems like you have a different/better experience?
      Thank you.

    Really loved this video format and presentation... Although the speaker placement gave me anxiety. $7000 speakers with their drivers directly against furniture make me want to scream 😅

      @themrgumbatron  11 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed the presentation. Don’t worry the speakers were merely placed like that for the purpose of the video shooting. They have ample “breathing space” to maximise acoustic performance in normal mode.

      Its a good comparison to make, however the 60's beat them even with the integration of a sub - and even dares I say it two subs as while you can add two subs to the 50's its a proper fiddly affair to get them to work in mono on each channel - however with the 60's its a doddle. Other reasons - the 50's do not go loud - at all - they choke the lower frequencies at higher volumes ie they just don't play them - no such issue with the 60's - but the real difference is in the room - the 60s fill it - floor to ceiling, back to front, the imaging is incredible - they are not just a bigger pair of 50's they are a different speaker all together - i used to sell hi-fi in the 80's proper hi-end - I never wanted to become an 'audiophile' like so many of my customers - I want to listen to the music not the system - so have stayed away from that unhappiness of the hobby tweaker and constant upgrader - however its a addiction that once experienced can never really go away - so to help I bought the 50's and loved them, even though I could see the flaws - when I could, I upgraded to these - after I added the two subs - addiction cured - although only sort of - the only downside to the 60's is that the app allows you to constantly adjust the sound control for perfection.....aaaahhhh is there no end to this madness......? Addendum there are two Kef apps - one works with the 50's the other won't - thats 60 territory only - beware of this good luck.
