Yo I keep getting comments about how the original sample was barely in my track, so clearly I failed in this edit because it's *mostly* the sample. Just thought we'd heard enough of the source material by the time we got to my segment. I did a more detailed breakdown in this video if you wanna see all the ways I chopped it: ruclips.net/video/lUYrNpl7F_8/видео.html
Had to rewatch after episode 2 dropped. I can't wait for the third installment. All productivity in the house stopped for the last 30 minutes. This is a great series.
I LOVE that Lucy also got to hear the remixes and you included her reaction in this video. It must have been an awesome experience for her, as the original artist, to see her work being reinterpreted by your talented selves. Super cool.
I have to say the singular best thing about this project was the way all of the musicians/producers allowed themselves to get totally into the sonic creativity of their peers. The reactions say so much about what kind of people you are -- you all wanted one another to succeed. There was no competition, only camaraderie. Fantastic original song, fantastic sampling done by all involved. Well done!
Rae Carlson, that is exactly what I was thinking as well. It is so nice to see artists celebrate each other's creations, even to say they would love to know how they did that. It is inspiring, to say the least. Thank you for articulating exactly what I was thinking and nice to see that someone else sees and feels the same. ♥
This needs to be a series. Seriously, such amazing work and such an amazing concept. Honestly this would be a great way to not only feature different styles of music, but even feature how each person creates their music and their thoughts behind it. Oh and of course it is a great way to feature different artists big or small.
Eduard Loika there is a Facebook group that a bunch of us producers use that has a weekly beat making contest that is great for finding a ton of different ways people use the same track. It’s amazing for real. It’s called the producers corner.
Andrew mate, make an entire series based on this concept!!! This is such an awesome idea and will teach young producers some really interesting and new techniques. 10/10 would watch more of these. Well done
Whoa! This needs its own series! It's so good. It's a trip watching how all these amazing producers with their own styles flip a sample, and I take it as a great dose of inspiration. Thank you!
overall every single one of these remixes sound amazing. here are my thoughts on what each one sounded like it would be most fitting. Jeremy's remix: the music for a luxury car commercial. Cuckoo's remix: a soundtrack for a fine art gallery. Rachel's remix: the song you'd hear in an intense rave. Andrew's remix: the soundtrack heard for a dramatic video game trailer.
That video changed a lot of my views on produced and sampled tracks. Seeing the reaction of the original artist was the best part. How moved she was by what is essentially her song, but a new format for her to enjoy it in. Lmao Master Huang even came close to makin her cry 😂👍 amazing tracks everyone
The 13:23 Andrew modulation was killing. It could be just be a new theme itself. Lots of space with the piano arpeggio, on purpose half missed beat at the start tricks you to believe it is syncopated and the new drums get you confused for a few seconds processing that huge change. Amazing and colorful harmony.
Hands down best video format/idea that you've used so far. Seeing different perspectives and different methods in music production is not only interesting but hugely entertaining. Definitively keep it up you guys!
I think that Jeremy's track could have had a bass that has more character, but the tracks sounds really good and could really be a huge future bass remix
This is AWESOME! You should do this with like" 4 producers sample the same materials! Like have 6 objects in a room, let them make sounds (like you would for one of your unconventional instrument type videos) and have them make a song with that! Edit: Thank you guys! I honestly didn't even think this was that great of an idea! But if so many people like it, I really hope he sees this!
It made me extremely emotional all of a sudden at the end, cant believe how creatively different everyone is, but all equally talented. Amazing concept for a video too.
1st song - Absolutely loved the buildup, but after the drop it was maybe a little bit funky for me, still a solid 8/10! 2nd song - That was super original and interesting song, probably not something I'd listen to, but I really like the originality 3rd song - Reminded me of Asteroid Galaxy Tour, not sure why, but I dig it, the bassline was indeed awesome. 4th song - The best one for sure, I absolutely loved the chops and the mellow hiphop vibe before the apocalyptic switch, which then went to a peaceful ending. What a journey!
Pull back from the arguments about who had the “best” track. The cool thing about this video is simply watching the difference in how creative people interpreted the same material.
not to be rude but I didn't like those songs that much...however the whole concept and the video are really really awesome, and it' was a wonderful life lesson
This format is perfect for the content, all the processes are the perfect length, not too short, not too long (though I wouldn't mind seeing a bit more of the processes haha). Keep this going!
you should do much more of these because it really shows how music cannot be divided by genre and any song (No matter what genre) can be put into to anyone's hands and create a universe beyond the song itself.
I literally was moved so much by Jeremy's track it was out-of-this-world incredibly amazing one of the best that I've heard so far as for producers one sample congratulations you had me in tears
honestly love this so much and i love jessica so much too; honestly didn't even think of it being based off of her series but so nice that you credited her even though you probably couldve gotten away with not doing it, so many youtubers dont give proper credit to each other anymore, so it's just great to see that you do, so nice!
You should definitely do that again Andrew, it was awesome. I'd be very interested if instead of these great guys you do it with your friends, Rob, Roomie and Dave😋
MarsLos10 Honestly I expected it to be Rob, Roomie and Dave but I'm honestly glad that it's not. The results would be much more of a joke instead of doing a serious track.
The visible joy of you sharing each other's music after we got a peek at the parts coming together makes the whole project so infectiously enjoyable! Rewatching this after finally seeing the reprise of the "4 Producers 1 Synth" really emphasised how this constraint showcases the artistry of these producers and hopefully the time limit means we can keep watching this kind of magic happen. Inspiring!
Wow this was amazing! I loved seeing all your different takes on that track--it really opened up my eyes to how each producer has their own style. I'd love to see more of stuff like this!
I really liked this part, I wanted more of it - like the second piece felt a bit disjointed / also beautiful and I loved it. But I would loved to hear 12:58’s feel expanded into a complete song.
Used to do this on a Facebook group called “The Beat Inn”. We called them the “Therapy Chops”. Get your sample on Sunday, turn it in by Friday. Crazy how many people come up with different renditions of the same sample. Especially the different styles involved. Tall Black Guy always outdid everyone.
That has got to be one of the greatest ideas I've ever seen related to musical games and that kind of stuff. Would 100% subscribe to a channel that did this as a series.
This has made me have so much more respect for producers, first video I saw that really shows me how beautiful and unique producing is. Keep it up love the content.
the youtube channel Genius has a cool series called Deconstructed where producers go into how they made their beats for rnb/hip-hop tracks...honestly the coolest thing ever

It was dope regardless
Bro I love your each and every vid.
BTW congrats for your ringtones which were put in the Note 9
dude this is so dope overall tho. I can't believe you guys can get to that result in less than a week!!!
I just wanted to say how I appreciate you interacting with fans and viewers even in old vids. You're very talented and an inspiration to many of us. 👌
ANDREW HUANG we need part 2

It is original forreal tho
Yeah it is, makes it easier to see what he’s doing
So cool! Thank you for the shoutout and I love that all types of creatives are doing this in their own way :)
Your setup is on point and that bouncy ball, amazing
The series needs to come back!!
I subscribed to your channel because of your reply to this video! (And the shout out!) :)
the way he use mirror instead facecam is bamboozling!
I loved that too! Thought it would save some time editing 😂👌🏼
ikr!
very cool indeed! was mentioned he was in a hotel room, maybe it was the easiest way to record

Sarah Ross I was looking for this comment! Thanks
I just love it how the bearded guy filmed his screen and his face using a mirror... so simple and so good :D
Had to rewatch after episode 2 dropped. I can't wait for the third installment. All productivity in the house stopped for the last 30 minutes. This is a great series.
Same sat in awe at my house too
Episode 3 is the best imo
Lucy looks like such a proud Mom hearing all the remixes
yes exactly!
like oeeeeh my baby is growing up so fast
LOL
I don’t know what those look like
hahaha
I think it was super awkward watching her react to them.
I LOVE that Lucy also got to hear the remixes and you included her reaction in this video. It must have been an awesome experience for her, as the original artist, to see her work being reinterpreted by your talented selves. Super cool.
yes! everything was so well thought out
I had feels watching her tear up.
This was great!
I like how happy they are when they are listening to each others versions... takes me away from all the tension thats in the music industry rn
really inspiring vibes there
Rachel's track gave me goosebumps it was soooo good
Hate the “puppies” part I think it sounded terrible
@@ProGamer-wn5xn I like it but I don’t like the samples she used for that part (the follow puppies)
All my favourite producers coming together in one project! Easily my favourite video EVER!

"Ah! JEREMY!" Does anyone else notice Andrew literally MOANED OVER JEREMY'S REMIX.
I certainly noticed. Haha.
I nearly spit out my apple juice
That's what happens when you get an eargasm
they both commented that they both don't know how each other of them are making the remix
Time to write a oneshot lmao
Cuckoo sounds like he'd make really good Wii Shop style music...
Get him to make a song for the Switch eshop... it really needs one
Or terraria music
He made a terraria track lmao
Sounds like crap to me
Andrew, please make this a series. Please.
Puloop one with boyinaband (Dave) would be AWSOME 😄
Can't believe this series started 5 years ago. So glad he made it into a series
Surprise! your wish just came true.

I hear Follow Bodies, oddly enough

Juice Goose I did too
Whoa! This needs its own series! It's so good. It's a trip watching how all these amazing producers with their own styles flip a sample, and I take it as a great dose of inspiration. Thank you!
Most producers: “beat switch.” Andrew, an intellectual: ”A multi-part composition that jumps between a few different musical flavors”
I love how the girl just accepted how it sounded like "Follow puppies" HAHAHHAA
I actually heard the slightly grimmer "full of bodies"
I jJ
Jjaka
😅😁
I hear fallen bodies
I love this concept! More of this please!
And for the tracks I can't decide between the first and the last but they were all awesome.
I second this!
Check out rhythm roulette. Close to the same concept
Da BJ Jeremy takes the cake Imho
overall every single one of these remixes sound amazing. here are my thoughts on what each one sounded like it would be most fitting.
Jeremy's remix: the music for a luxury car commercial.
Cuckoo's remix: a soundtrack for a fine art gallery.
Rachel's remix: the song you'd hear in an intense rave.
Andrew's remix: the soundtrack heard for a dramatic video game trailer.
No, the end part of Andrew's remix is like coming into to beautiful ball room with sprinkly lights all over....
Intense rave?. Nah it's too soft for rave
Rachel makes mosh pit music if that makes sense, and i love it
KabuTops 🤣🤣🤣
Seriously, Jeremys does sound 100% like car commercials
Jeremy's piece sounds like epic video game music.
Yeah , like a epic masterpiece of a game.
Electronic musicians hear that a lot....
Felt like I was traveling in space listening to that one.
This whole idea and outcome was sick and I loved it, also your track was frickin banging!!!!!

"So I started out by listening to the song and picking the parts that I like"
I would hope so.
so i started out by not listening to the song
So started by finishing
This isn't a rip off your translating the idea to a different art form.
4 producers one sample.
Andrew Huang: *makes 3 songs
The 13:23 Andrew modulation was killing. It could be just be a new theme itself. the last one had nothing that reminded me of the original. which is the point
Mattle Black Island exactly??? Like he even said it haha
Rachel's bassline is SO much reminding me of The Glitch Mob.

Reminded me of Eurythmics, "Sweet Dreams Are Made of These." Super catchy and well conceived!
