One tip that helped me a lot was remaking my favorite songs. It’s the closest thing to hands on learning you’ll get without a legit class or studio session with the producers
One thing Joel Zimmerman (deadmau5) said on one of his live streams was that everybody thinks the only way to make money in music is to get signed, be a rocks star, etc. He said his parents told him to get a job because he wasn't making any money. He decided to get a job making flash video music for companies. Eventually that helped out and for fun he released the song faxing berlin, he was already djing at local clubs, but something about that song really pulled off, and then ghosts n stuff. I remember him starting out back in 2008. It took him almost 10 years until he got famous. His mouse head was basically a joke at pac man, and he thought it would be funny if he wore it live, and people thought it was great. I remember the contests, where whomever had the coolest mouse head got it personally signed or worn by him, or something like that. He was also into graphic design, and made a 3d model of his mouse head after finding out a dead mouse was actually in his computer. But the point of this story, is that this guy came from a fucking basement situation, and didn't limit himself. He also says, everybody tries to put out their stuff online, which is fine, but he said that your chances of success are much higher giving a physical copy of your work to the record company or producer, than just an email. Same thing with Billie Eilish's brother. Her ocean eyes video was just for her dance class, she actually wanted to be a dancer, but fucked her hip up, and a promoter from apple saw the video on youtube, and boom, it took 5 years later until her debut came out with her when we fall asleep album. You would be surprised. But its going to be a hobby when you first start out. You need multiple sources of income, and just have fun. Learn more about the music business, immerse your self in it as much as possible, become an expert. To be a master at anything, you have to adopt that identity as a world class musician or producer and do those actions that world class producers do. That goes with anything in life.

Very good advise. I try to put something together in any genre just to get my production skills better. Today with the internet there is no excuse to NOT get knowledge !!
Awesome content. People often worry about what do I need to have or get to achieve the success I want. Instead, focus on who you have to become. These tips are a great part of that. Keep up the good work! Mind giving us a list of the best books you read?
Im 28 and i feel like im just starting even though i been trying to get good for about 2 or 3 years now. i gotta be more consistent and and experimental
simple advices but anyway helpful asf I always remember these rules but sometimes you are just pissed off and videos like this are kind of reminders for each producer. Wish you big success
Reaching out to others is huge - I've got a track with a person who made the billboard top 20 coming out in a few weeks, a track with a multi-million streams band, and another track with a very established vocalist all from networking. It is possible! Keep grinding y'all 🤘🏼 You've earned my sub, from an engineer and producer to another 🤝
5:31 I used to be like that and thankfully with experience I slowly started shifting the vision and asked myself how can I learn from this and apply it on my work to help me with my improvement instead of just sitting back looking at everyone doing their own thing and being like I wish I could be like this, I wish I could be that which will demotivate you and degrade your confidence throughout the time
I’ve been on this path for 4 years now and it really does come in to fruition! There’s many opportunities as a producer they just don’t come to your front door
No. 3 is spot on. An interesting thought came to me about a week ago. "If the opportunity in front of you right now is your only chance to succeed in life but you dont know it will be your only opportunity. How would you treat it?". Many times we think life will present us with many opportunities to succeed so we treat people and things nonchalantly.
The what can I learn part is big for me I be doing a lot of recreations of art dealer’s beats to study the structure and how parts of the melody work together

Now I have gained experience and am preparing for a big project. No matter how much you want to do everything at once and at the same time, everything will not work out at once.
Wings on My Own
(Verse 1)
I remember late nights, dreaming out loud,
Mapping my future, standing out in the crowd.
With every “you can’t,” I found my way through,
A spark in my heart, and a vision so true.
(Chorus)
I’m breaking free, spreading my wings,
Chasing the stars, and the joy that it brings.
Got my dreams in my pocket, I’m ready to fly,
With each step I take, I’m reaching the sky.
(Verse 2)
Through the whispers of doubt, you lifted me high,
Like that time at the park, when we laughed ’til we cried.
You said, “Chase your heart, let it lead you along,”
Now I’m standing here, singing my own song.
(Chorus)
I’m breaking free, spreading my wings,
Chasing the stars, and the joy that it brings.
Got my dreams in my pocket, I’m ready to fly,
With each step I take, I’m reaching the sky.
(Bridge)
I’ve stumbled and tripped, but I learned how to rise,
With you by my side, I can conquer the skies.
From the late-night talks to the long drives we’ve shared,
Your love and your faith always showed me you cared.
(Chorus)
I’m breaking free, spreading my wings,
Chasing the stars, and the joy that it brings.
Got my dreams in my pocket, I’m ready to fly,
With each step I take, I’m reaching the sky.
(Outro)
So here’s to the moments, the growth and the fight,
With every heartbeat, I’m shining my light.
I’ll keep moving forward, I won’t look back,
With wings on my own, I’m on the right track.

We need more of these fam. Keep them coming!
Fasho 💯
Very good advise. I try to put something together in any genre just to get my production skills better. Today with the internet there is no excuse to NOT get knowledge !!
Awesome content. People often worry about what do I need to have or get to achieve the success I want. Instead, focus on who you have to become. These tips are a great part of that. Keep up the good work! Mind giving us a list of the best books you read?
Thank you! Sub to Way of Waves I may talk about them in a newsletter.
You are wise way beyond your years! Thanks for spreading this hard won knowledge!
Every producer needs to watch this video ❤
facts
@@NileWaves I’m only 13 and my music on RUclips is not rlly getting much attention even tho I got 415 subs, the views aren’t it
Im 28 and i feel like im just starting even though i been trying to get good for about 2 or 3 years now. i gotta be more consistent and and experimental
simple advices but anyway helpful asf
I always remember these rules but sometimes you are just pissed off and videos like this are kind of reminders for each producer.
Wish you big success
Thank you
Reaching out to others is huge - I've got a track with a person who made the billboard top 20 coming out in a few weeks, a track with a multi-million streams band, and another track with a very established vocalist all from networking. It is possible! Keep grinding y'all 🤘🏼 You've earned my sub, from an engineer and producer to another 🤝
Nice! Thanks for the sub
There’s a great attitude behind each of these points that you made. Thanks for making this video
Spitting straight and structured facts
yes🎉
Keep growing! You are coming into your own! Proud of you!
I'm not even a music producer and I gained a lot of inspiration and insight from this. Thank you brother
5:31 I used to be like that and thankfully with experience I slowly started shifting the vision and asked myself how can I learn from this and apply it on my work to help me with my improvement instead of just sitting back looking at everyone doing their own thing and being like I wish I could be like this, I wish I could be that which will demotivate you and degrade your confidence throughout the time
this is the best type of producer content
thank you
Really comforting bro and also made me realize i have been going about it the wrong way ,thanks man
One of your best uploads Nile!! From the delivery of the content to the editing, killed it brother 🔥
Thank you
I’ve been on this path for 4 years now and it really does come in to fruition! There’s many opportunities as a producer they just don’t come to your front door
where are they ?
