No different than when you read a news article and half the comments on are the title and not the content that they didnt read. Gets irritating after the 5th or 6th one. lol
The Ridgeline has practically, it rides smooth, and it's quite in the cabin I think I'll be checking it out soon as I'm going to be shopping for a mid size truck the Ridgeline and the Colorado are the ones in mind right now
Judicial, + the Ridgeline will never be in the shop for repairs, + the Ridgeline gets much better fuel economy, + the Ridgeline handles better in deep snow, on hard pack, ice, slush, + the Ridgeline rides, drives & handles with better precision, and best of all is the resell/trade-in value.
Well I knew from the title before watching that the two fastest the Gm twins and the Ranger were not there, then be default the Ridgeline becomes the fastest, unless it is a trick question, I remember C&D saying the Frontier was the fastest of any truck, as in it had the highest top speed before the governor kicks in.
Should've included the Chevy Colorado because it's actually the most powerful in class if you opt for the factory "power package", which is a cold air intake and catback exhaust (forum guys seem to estimate it'll add like 10-15HP). Seeing as this is an OEM, from-the-factory option, I think including it is valid.
That’s a dealer installed deal, just like Ford has a FP performance package and tune for the Ranger. I’m sure Jeep has a Mopar performance catalog too, probably also Toyota and soon to be Nissan for their trucks as wellz
I think they said somewhere else they were at an event and these were the manufacturers who agreed to participate. Ford, Chevy and Rivian declined to participate.
At the end, they did specify Ranger, Colorado, and Rivian (sp?) declined to participate at the showing. Would have been nice to see them in comparison, though.
Yet it's a best-seller, ever wonder why,? because judging a vehicle's worth in its 0 - 60 performance is what kids do not someone who just needs to get things done.
@@KingJahTheSecond I’m a self-identified Toyota fanboy and even I know the new engine and transmission is garbage, not to mention they’ve felt cheaper and cheaper since moving production to less ideal places. If your Toyota is built outside of the U.S. or Japan, I’d reconsider.
I was surprised how 'slow' the Frontier was. But when you look into it, the Frontier is as heavy as a base model crew cab F150 lol. Even the now-segment old boy Colorado is over 300lbs lighter. Even the ZR2 is lighter and an SV crew cab 4x4 Frontier. The next closest curb weight is the Gladiator and it's 150lbs lighter too. I think Ridgelone is the lightest of them all. The Ridgeline update looks great, but they NEED to ditch those ridiculous fender flares haha. Scale them down to 50%. Same with the black plastic rockers. That plastic trick may work on a crossover to make it look 'rugged' but this is nasty
The curb weight makes the Tacoma the lightest per info available on Edmunds and the trucks' respective websites. The Tacoma has a curb weight range of 3915-4315lbs, to the Hondas 4436lbs. The Taco shown here should have a curb weight of about 4255lbs, depending on options, but even the heaviest Taco is still over 100lbs lighter than the Honda, which is the second lightest.
I think most of that weight is due to the fully boxed frame... which is "shared" with the full size titan (which is why titan swaps are so popular and easy to do)
MY wife has a 2009 Ridgeline and I own a 1991 Bronco 5.8. The Ridgeline is quite impressive, rides really smooth and very comfortable. Has a somewhat effective 4wd but mainly good for getting caught on the way home from work type of system. Still handles very well in the snow. But like I tell my wife, when the shit hits the fan and you're in a Blizzard time to take the Bronco
Parked next to an 90's Hardbody in my 2020 Ranger last week and it absolutely dwarfed it. Definitely a tighter fit down trails compared to 93 Hardbody I owned.
We’re you going downhill to get a 9 second 0-60 with that hardbody? I owned a 92 v6 hardbody and raced my wife in our 2020 Colorado with it and I felt like I wasn’t moving🤣 she didn’t even floor it. Fun truck none the less. Cornered like a car.
Honestly, I'm becoming a fan of the Ridgeline too. I'm a traditional truck guy. I own an old K1500 and a newer GMC Sierra. I've owned Fords and Rams too. What I like about the Ridgeline is Honda has managed to design a ton of utility into it. The payload is impressive. It has decent towing numbers. The Honda AWD system isn't as good as a traditional 4x4 system but it's good enough for the vast majority of applications. It gets decent fuel economy. I would not mind owning one as a daily driver that can do some work for me too.
Hopefully the frontier is a huge hit and energizes Nissan to bring back their true beast, the Nissan Xterra! Love my pro 4x’s! Love my Xterra, love my Titan!

I love my ridgeline. And choose it over the a new tocoma because I needed a everyday diver that is comfortable on long trips with more room because I’m 6’3. Plus the interior is simple and easy to clean and just less to worry about. I also knew it’s faster then the tocoma having driven one. The Honda had me sold a long time ago and after the warranty expires I’m hopeful going to make a bad ass turner out of it with a twin turbo mod. I’ve bee man ahuge fan of Honda for decades and I want to show the world how they are different.
Andre is the man. All the trucks are nice and the Honda Toyota and Nissan can last 200,000 miles or more. Pentastar makes good power and is a fun engine until it has its major breakdown.
The ECT does nothing for full throttle accelerations. It will shift at the redline whether the ECT is off or on with full throttle acceleration. The ECT will hold a lower gear longer and downshift sooner with normal driving! It’s useful for towing and hauling!
The Keeps ad always makes me laugh, you guys have the young guy with great hair doing an ad about hair loss product, LOL. Credit to Kase though, he did a good job presenting.
You guys keep driving the "ridgeline is not a truck" nonsense. Every ridgeline review you constantly tell viewers that it is not a truck! I own one, it's a truck. lol.
Ok guys so where are the Ranger an GM Twins? In my Colorado Crew Cab 4x4, V6, came stock with 308 hp 271 lbs ft. TQ. Then I added a K&N CAI, in all black polymer, plus Borla exhaust. Now before I ran a timed 0-60 run in 7.1 sec. Then I went back with the added intake and exhaust, running without any tune and reg gas I then ran 6.7 sec! That was at a local 1/4 mile dragway in central Florida, called Sebring International Raceway. Where I just happened to be camping just down the road from, three days after installing the CAI and exhaust. So I emptied everything out of my truck an went to see. I was able to make two runs in stock production truck class. I was pleasantly surprised to improve so much with both mods. But the extra noise does get tiring after a while towing. But 0-60 in 6.7 twice, plus a best out of two 1/4 miles at 15.6/96 mph is dam good! Running with traction control off, stability control off at start, plus tow/haul mode activated. Then the next day hooked up to my Grey Wolf 24 JS and drove home.
@@BAYAREAMX actually maybe I should have been more informative, for those who have comprehension issues. I did go back, to the same track, only on a camping trip, to see for myself if there was any difference. So between the CAI, exhaust, taking everything out of the truck, including the spare tire, running on 1/8 gas tank and no tailgate, I saved time, plus gained a bit of speed.

The Ridgeline is a solid truck. If the off-road capability or lack thereof is enough for your needs, there isn't much negative to say about it but a lot of positive. Definitely the most family friendly among the mid size line-up. It can actually fit two rear facing car seats without any trouble while being quiet and comfortable. I'd take the Nissan personally but the Ridgeline was on the radar.
Id consider the ridgeline, but it has too many annoyances (adaptive cruise shuts off at 25 mph, bed depth under the tonneau cover is less than a foot and a half) and interior tech looks like it’s straight out of 2008. Honda can do better, and currently does in other vehicles, idk why they dont modernize the RL more

@@gwlane5509 Ranger's built like a tuna can compared to the Frontier and the Taco. Rides like garbage too. Only good thing about it was its powertrain, which I have to admit felt the best in the segment. I daily drive a '19 Taco and can tell you the Frontier is just better. Way quieter, rides/handles way better, powertrain feels better/none of the Taco's transmission jank, usable backseat, and a seating position that doesn't destroy your back.

The Honda is a very nice truck. They ride great, tow well and carry a hell of a lot of crap. The trunk below the bed make it a great choice for most people.
Great video gentleman.
Ummmm Honda doesn't make a truck. They do offer a minivan with a bed though

Everyone in the comment section where's the Ranger and Colorado 😂
No different than when you read a news article and half the comments on are the title and not the content that they didnt read. Gets irritating after the 5th or 6th one. lol
Tacoma is the best truck out there period
The Ridgeline has practically, it rides smooth, and it's quite in the cabin I think I'll be checking it out soon as I'm going to be shopping for a mid size truck the Ridgeline and the Colorado are the ones in mind right now
Judicial, + the Ridgeline will never be in the shop for repairs, + the Ridgeline gets much better fuel economy, + the Ridgeline handles better in deep snow, on hard pack, ice, slush, + the Ridgeline rides, drives & handles with better precision, and best of all is the resell/trade-in value.
I bought my 2022 RL in November 2021. I traded in a 2015 Chev 2500HD.. 0 regrets.
I just bought the Nissan frontier. It is super smooth and quiet, give it a drive
I am getting about 22.5 mpg combined in my ridgeline. It has a great ride and is super quiet. Plus you can lay full 4x8 sheets flat in the bed.
And the Ranger beat the crap out of the ridge line in another one of their videos
4.0L Tacoma
I think they said somewhere else they were at an event and these were the manufacturers who agreed to participate. Ford, Chevy and Rivian declined to participate.
@@user-cr4se9yb7n yeah, it helps when people actually read what's going on
At the end, they did specify Ranger, Colorado, and Rivian (sp?) declined to participate at the showing. Would have been nice to see them in comparison, though.
Agree with Roman on the Taco, Toyota can take that engine and transmission and put it up their butts.
Toyota needs to put the Lexus NX 2.4 Turbo engine in the Tacoma.
Its all tuning done to improve mpg. This same engine is in the camry and IS350, and also the Lotus evora.
@@jg8263 They're very close, i think to be exact you'd have to look at the door stickers. Double Cab 4x4 TRD Pro looks to be 4465lbs
@@andrewsbbq yeah, I would say a horse apiece for this test.
The majority of the torque is at a higher RPM as that's what I noticed with my 2022 Frontier.
Showing LOVE for the channel thank you and have a Blessed day everyone
Haha Roman's face when Andre nearly elbows him is great!
I saw that, too!
My '95 Nissan hard body did it in 9 seconds with only 150 hp. Just shows you how much midsize trucks weigh now.
Parked next to an 90's Hardbody in my 2020 Ranger last week and it absolutely dwarfed it. Definitely a tighter fit down trails compared to 93 Hardbody I owned.
Yes. My '92 civic hatch was 800+ pounds lighter than a 2020 civic hatch. But the '20 is quicker, just as fuel efficient and much, MUCH safer.
I think you mean 18 seconds.
This is at elevation. That old truck in this same test would be like 12 seconds
Like your channel, but I must say 0-60 time is about #47 on my list of concerns for a truck…
Yet, you watched the vid. Thanks for your support.
If you live where I do, our highway onramps are 0-60 or die.
The Tacoma was not the fastest truck! It was the Ridgeline!

Ask anyone about reliability and Toyota or Honda.
Ask anybody that actually knows about cars and they will say for a truck, definitely Toyota or Nissan.
What about the Ranger and Colorado?

Ridgeline for sure. It was in the design from the start.

At the end of the video you stated that the TACO was the fastest and the one that 90% won't call a truck. I think you meant Ridgeline. xD
He didn't state that the taco was the fastest truck. He said "We now know which of these four, (well, not the 4runner, the tacoma), is the fastest truck."

I knew the cruck was gonna win! Stickers always reduce weight and add power.
Guys ECT button is for hills and mountains it changes shifting modes not adding power do your research
The ECT does nothing for full throttle accelerations. It will shift at the redline whether the ECT is off or on with full throttle acceleration. The ECT will hold a lower gear longer and downshift sooner with normal driving! It’s useful for towing and hauling!

People buying those Ridgelines do more truck stuff with them than guys buying 3/4 ton and 1 ton diesel dually pickups will ever do.
How is the ridgeline rated at about the same powers as the tacoma and frontier, but it's a lot quicker 0 to 60?
Nobody cares...
They directly addressed why those truck werent here, twice.
Your truck went faster because you took it to a prepped drag strip. The cai and exhaust made no difference.

Off road the Tacoma is no slouch, but the Rubicon is well a Rubicon front rear lockers, sway bar disconnect, crawler transfer case. 2021 and above you can use rear locker in 4H. If you get the Mini Taser unit it will do like the new bronco where you can lock a rear wheel in a turn for tighter turning radius. ........Oh and the top comes off :)
