Shocking is the wrong word in your title. Which implies bad playing. Stunning is the word you want. And I didn’t need to watch the video. I just don’t like spotting misleading hyperbolic words, just to get attention. It’s like doctored thumbnails.
Her volume control is insane. So quiet to in your face
Tell me anyone in the past 50 years so great in their profession? Greatness personified.
Who really wants to know how mediocre Argerich as a musician is should listen to her Rach 3 beginning and then listen to Buniatishvilis with Järvi.
man, both are incredible musician. And you are obviously not.
There are other performances of the Rachmaninoff three that easily outclass Argerich interpretively, but she surpasses all of them in her technical command.
But I am sorry, Buniatishvili cannot even mentioned in the same sentence is Argerich. Buniatishvili is the female equivalent of Lang Lang among modern day pianists, only prettier.
I think that many students at modern day conservatories could easily out play either of them, both technically and interpretively .
@@Janaceks_Dad ah, I see….did you hear Rachmaninoff third with her….?
@@didon8460 sorry.
Why don’t you just give up?
Towards the end I was waiting for the pianos to burst into flames. Jeez. The woman has pinkies made out of titanium
0:11 Mozart; Piano COncerto No.20 in D minor K466
1:18 J.S.Bach; Prtita No.2 in C minor BWV826-Capriccio
2:10 Tchaikovsky; Piano Concerto No.1 in B# Major Op.23
3:14 Rachmaninoff; Piano Concerto No.3 in D Minor Op.30
4:30 Prokofiev; Piano Concerto No.3 in Major Op.26
For myself!
I've made it so you can jump straight to the part you want to listen to!
No, she is not playing the piano. The piano is being played by her.
isn't that the same thing?
maybe they meant to say that the piano is playing her, which I agree with
Her playing is of very rare and precious beauty. Very many are pianists, but very few possess true charisma.
In some ways the Bach Capriccio is the most unusual and remarkable: she creates a sense of organ registration and polyphony instead of just the rush of articulated notes as this piece is so often rendered. She hits the leaps in the right hand as if they were adjacent notes, which keeps the linearity moving so you don't even notice Bach's "keyboard saltando" in those passages.
Stupendous is the only way to describe how she can play!
At Rachmaninov 3 you can see the sigh of relief after the passage 🎉
So that is hard even for her! 😊
And no sheet music. All from memory. 🤯
Shocking you use if something has gone wrong but here all is spotless!
Whenever I listen to her Mozart, it brings back memories of Gulda's fantastic performance!
man findet gar keine worte die dieses klavierwunder beschreiben könnten....
Martha... our GENIOUS‼️🇦🇷💙🤍💙🎶✨
4:00 ........... I simply love her.........
Strauss' Burleske in D minor!
5 electrifying performances by Martha Argerich
0:24 Didn't know that Yuja Wang played the Oboe, too!!
She doesn’t.
@@thainac1732 .... I'll send you to a school to learn irony
Yuja Wang……..without ostentation? IMO there’s no comparison between these two incredibly humble, technically superb women to Yuja Wang. They have earned their position quietly…..but being extraordinary musicians. Yuja? I would question. Her technique is very good. Interpretation, questionable.
Matrha Argerich - genialna pianistką !!! Takze wspaniały ,odważny człowiek ( potrafiła okazać swoje oburzenie ,co do decyzji jury w Konkusie Chopinowskim, opuszczajac sale !!!
Martha una gloria del universo.
Only pianist in the world who succeeded in playing Tchaikovskys b flat minor in Mayor! Mayonnaisy achievement!!
She's amazing ❤
She is queen
Wow
Everything is far too fast. Not my fav type.
I was pleased that, like Horowitz, she filled in the last octave in the Tschiakowsky passage with a dominant seventh.
Me too!
すごすぎるわ。美人
Why shocking? Shocking sounds so negative. They were all wonderful and fantastic performances!😮
Shocking sounds negative? It never had that connotation to me. I use it interchangably with unbelievable, regardless of whether its unbelievably good or unbelievably bad. This, of course, is unbelievably good
works better for the youtube algorithm - unfortunately the clickbaity stuff is like this. Not how i would prefer youtube to work, but humans respond more to 'shock' than 'awe' according to youtube!
probably a translation / spell check glitch.
you know she´s is the goat when that 6th raphsody video isn´t in this
not a fan of her 6th rhapsody tbh, even though her technique is absolutely fucking inhuman.
No hay dudas que es un ser angelado
…the hand speed matches Buddy Rich!
Those once in a lifetime talents. Simply extraordinary.
Nothing schocking at all. But nice gimmick.
The title says it all!
Legendary
😍😍😍😍😍
Casta diva is Callas landmark.
3rd Prokofiev, is the landmark of Martha. ❤❤❤❤
No it was not shocking! It was genius!
What is so schocking?
OMG the last one
Why is this supposed to be 'shocking'? Maybe impressive, or fascinting...but 'shocking'...?
When I saw the Rach 3 come up, I thought, oh yeah, it's going to be the barnstorming coda of the last movement. But happily, you chose my favorite part of the whole concerto!
Rtinnehhr
Un genio.
for someone that is not into classical piano music of such its incredibly horrible to see a bunch of white old people looking at her. she is probably far away from my understanding, outstanding
Why shocking?? Dumb title. Please change.
Ella no se hizo pianista. Nació pianista. !!!!!!!
So what is shocking about these performances? I came here expecting to find drastic mistakes or mishaps in each performance, or forgetting her part, or something like that.
I believe her only live performance of Rach 3.
These pieces were selected cause they are Argerich's favourite pieces to play.😊
Martha is the fifth force of nature.
Dutoit looks like Berlioz.
I'm a long-time guitarist just learning piano. Martha is amazing .The
Malmsteen, Satriani, etc of the piano.
she will give a concert in two weeks….. I have tickets, will be there😊
Excellent! I would love to be you! I hope you enjoy it ♥
Did she turn up?
@@jamesrobert4106 yes, …she was amazing, I am very happy to have been there😁
@duka7436 It must have been incredible. I asked because I am sure you know, it was not uncommon for her to cancel performances at the last minute.
@@jamesrobert4106 Oh, I didn't know that. The audience was thrilled and she gave three encores🙂
Best

❤️🌹
Agerich and Previn the ultimate combination for the Prokofiev 3rd.
The speed at which she plays that Bach Capriccio would make any other pianists’ hands cave if they attempted it at the same speed (even some very great pianists).
Exactly. She is always showing off…speed is not at all a virtue in music
@@leonardoiglesias2394 which of us wouldn’t be inclined to show off if we had the Rolls Royce of piano techniques that Martha Argerich has? Yes, she does have a tendency to play things too fast, and her playing of certain pieces would be more effective if she just slowed down. But from everything I’ve read about her, she’s not the least bit ostentatious about her talent (as opposed to someone like Lang Lang, who is the most vulgar among modern day pianists)
@@leonardoiglesias2394 you should really look into more of her discography. she may be wild, but her quality of sound in most cases is absolutely unreal. i don't think she really comes across as being immature or lacking thought or sophistication, she's quite attentive to sound and has many really sensitive performances. you have to look for them though
@@leonardoiglesias2394if all you hear is her speed, then I think you're just jealous
@@brent3522 ok, she is never showing off. I am sorry to have said something so stupid. I am a frustrated piano virtuoso, you see…
No, 'performance', especially speedy one, it is not always music.
It's an ordeal for the musicians in the orchestra. The result is often very questionable.
In the Mozart, first extract, it's caricatured, ridiculous. The leaders' lack of authority is quite pathetic.
Mozart is not clean.
After glenn, she is the one who amused me 🖤
Prokofieff has wrong notes in the third and fourth last bars: should be C-B-C-B-C-B C-B-C-B-C-B and then repeated Cs. Instead, she plays repeated Cs the whole way.
She does play c b c b
PERO YO PENSABA QUE EL PIANO ERA YUJA WAN SOLAMENTE EN EL MUNDO Y YA.QUE NO HABIA MAS NADIE .CONTRA, QUE EQUIVOCADO ESTABA,,,,,,NO_?.
de certeza
The Rachmaninoff 3 is heavy-handed and rough. Her only aim was to "play it faster than anyone else" at any cost.
His style was psychotic, heavy handed and rough. That's the mindset you need to play his music. He was a genius ahead of his time with his style of playing. I can't do it...I don't want to get carpal tunnel syndrome. My daughter is young she can play his music. Me and my mother are awe Everytime she plays it. She was only 14 when she discovered him, she's almost 30 now. Being African American it's a joy to have so many talented musicians in our family none are famous we just love music from all genres ❤
@@winninginlifeI am sorry, but whose style was heavy-handed and psychotic?
@@EmptyVee00000 Rachmaninoff 😭🤣🤫😉❤️
A showing off uncultivated pianist.
Better to be thought a fool than express your opinion and remove all doubt.
All right man, you obviously dislike her but why don't you spare us from your hideous comments? Please keep your opinion to yourself or go somewhere else to spit your annoyance and share it with those who have your same tastes. The fact that you have an opinion doesn't mean you have to go out there bothering those that think different. Grow up dude or get a life.
Wtf are you ok 😢
