@Tom Lee Seems that the finger/face cam was recorded on a Bechstein, and the full-body cam was recorded on a Steinway. And I think that's the sound of the Steinway we are actually listening, cause there are a few mistakes(the Steinway performance was live) and actually there is no camera next to her, probably because the Bechstein record was made in studio.
Yes, it is a combination of two videos. The piano played in the video taken at a distance from her back is STEINWAY. The decal on fallboard is C.BECHSTEIN.
I believe that after Chopin, no one other than Martha Argerich managed to interpret this piece of music with such perfection - as we never heard Chopin live, fortunately we have this. Every note, every sound phrase, every breath. I hear many pianists performing this masterpiece as if it were a tsunami of sound. It's not - Martha places absolutely every sound chord with cleanliness, perfection - she raises the musical tension, she returns the meaning and emotion to the point where it belongs. Whoever manages to get close to this, gets it right when interpreting this song, whoever thinks it's about pretending to be a pianist running a marathon, is sadly mistaken. Thank you Martha Argerich for this interpretation that will probably never be equaled.
Martha is just amazing. She can truly play anything she wants to and make it convincing! For years my go to Tchaikovsky Concerto #1 performance was Gilels/Reiner, I never thought I would ever hear a better one. But Martha and Kondrashin proved me wrong. That live performance is simply fantastic. Also showed that women too can have wrists of steel!

she's beautiful
I wish we could see this with a down the line view of her hands and the close up of her face split screen with no cuts. Watching her expressions and the speed at which she is processing things is so incredible.
I was burnt out about listening to this piece, but Martha made it almost like new again. She really makes this piece sing!
Wow! Amazing performance! I love watching her play....such finesse and spirit.
Amazing!!!! I love this performance~!
I could listen to it endlessly!!
Despite the mistakes, this is one of my favorite performances from her. This is one of my favorite pieces of all time and I rarely see so much pure passion and heart put into it as it be should for this polonaise. Really fantastic!
Art in music ! No words ! She's the best

Argerich turns a Steinway (0:01) into a Bechstein (0:08) just to turn it back again. Touché, Jesus!
wtf?!
Bonjour Emmanuel! Merci!!!!!! Quel sourire...................
That smile was as beautiful as the music she is playing.
Pure joy
Thank you for posting this rare video clip. What a treasure!
Honestly, I don't care about the mistakes. She interpreted this piece SO WELL, nothing else matter. But THE SMILE at 5:31 warmed up my soul.
When the main theme returns
She’s so cute lol. She’s so talented!
@@Lisztener yes brother...

This is MUSIC!! q Honor una pianista Argentina!!
She was a Kennedy Center Honoree on 12/27/16. What an outstanding pianist. She really makes you feel the music with her superb renditions.
look, i'm gay as f*ck but that smile at 5:30 made me straight instantly. she's just so pure.
Im gay too and find Martha damn attractive
The Dirt Devil MCE6600 - steaming mad at dirt!
The MCE6600 is fantastic because it sucks - dirt! Martha Agerich does not suck dirt but that's okay - she's sleek and sexy!Who wouldn't gobble her up!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😄😄😄
Millenials discovering you can find someone attractive independently of your sexual orientation
Merci Emmanuel Carrère pour ce joli partage 🙏
Aside from her talent and great musicality i also love the pout and the smile, so sweet..love you Martha
She's a miracle. I could live 300 years doing nothing but playing piano and I wouldn't be able to do that
I listen to this everyday, and I never stop smiling and feeling happy with this
