I read that she almost gave up piano in her 20s because she was desperate to study with Horowitz, but it wasnt possible. It was a blessing in disguise, because Horowitz didnt like teaching and was indifferent at it.
Este momento foi incrível. O concerto já havia terminado e o público aplaudiu tanto, que Martha retornou com os músicos e executaram novamente o final da peça.
No entiendo como pueden comparar a la pianista colombiana Pilar Leyva con esta gran artista... toda una falta de respeto a la trayectoria sin igual de Martha Arguerich.... quien ha grabado para SONY CLASSICAL , Deutsche Grammophon... tb comparan al Ministro colombiano Zorro con Daniel Baremboim... los colombianos son pura demagogia....

Vine a comentar esto, conté 3 escalas en total que hace solo con el índice, en pasajes donde hay varias escalas previas. Debe ser como dice el otro usuario, quizá para poder darle más volumen a cada nota. Nunca había visto hacer eso, me sorprendió mucho. Ahora cuando tenga que hacer una escala en staccatto y forte voy a considerar la digitación Martita, si ella lo hace...
I heard no real difference to the other scales - try as I might. I will have to try practising ascending scales in pieces and using one finger - against what my piano-teacher showed me, oh, about 60 years ago.

Fijate que lo hace siempre... Seguramente para acentuar más. Tal vez en la partitura estará así. (¿?).
