Yeah apparently Gorman's stomach couldn't handle the high-quality Chateau Romani to _SUCH_ a degree that he soiled himself in his sleep, losing _part of his life essence_ in the process. Luckily, his bed happened to be RIGHT over the bathroom. It's why you get the piece of heart from Mr. Hand in there.

    • @ShadowsWrath4
      @ShadowsWrath4 2 месяца назад +1

Dear everyone reading my previous comment:
I have just come to the realization that I am wrong about the geometry of Stock Pot Inn and that Gorman's bed does not, in fact, line up directly above the toilet.
This would make it impossible for what I said earlier to be true.
I would like to sincerely apologize to everyone for what I said earlier and assure everyone who read what I typed that I had no intention of lying to anyone. When I was typing out what I said prior, I really and truly thought what I was asserting to be factual. However, while lying in bed I re-did the layout of the upstairs in my head and I am very, very wrong.
I suppose I got excited (and I remember being excited when typing it, happy to share info) that my logic tied conveniently in Gorman's low tolerance for Romani's milk and the toilet being (I suppose....?) clogged and requiring paper to unclog, as well as there being evidence that Gorman may have soiled himself in his sleep due to the magic mushroom being findable in his bed and Chateau Romani having magical properties to it. It also tied into the 3DS quest of Gorman getting you a bottle from his bros on the ranch at little.
In fact, I would still like to hold onto the idea that Gorman did indeed soil himself in his sleep. There's no sign of him walking down to the toilet during the night hours, he is VERY drunk while in the Milk Bar, his bros imply that their ranch's watered down milk is what he was raised on, and the magic mushroom kinda ties it together.
Still, sorry everyone. I promise I did not mean to lie. I only wanted to help and my logic made sense at the time to me.
Hope you all have a nice day!

Its cause the Scarecrow doesn't actually teach you the songs as there is no cutscene or anything, just them telling you if you play the Song of Time in different ways it will trigger different effects! Did you know that if go to the laundry pool in Clock Town as zora link, you can do a side hop from a little bit up the hill that makes up the entrance and climb onto the wall? This is a great method for skipping a big chunk of the Anju and Cafe quest as you can walk along the wall and with the right position do a side hop and jump attack to enter the loading zone behind the locked door where you would normally collect a number of key items, and you can collect them with this trick without normally having the quest progression to be allowed in.

They still regularly had to deal with hot areas, notably Dodongo's Cavern is full of lava (and it's where they get their food from). It's not hot enough to bring up the timer, but I believe it's still hot enough for Link to do his 'hot area' idle animation (correct me if I'm wrong on this), which is used in places like the desert as well.

The algae looking like a N64 controller might actually be true, but not because it looks like a Rorschach test. A lot of sprites and images look a LOT different on a CRTV vs modern LED screens. This *might* be one, because I can kinda see the buttons (even the blue A button) on the algae, but it's just slightly... *off.*

    • @robertoXCX
      @robertoXCX 3 месяца назад +1

It might also have something to do with running the game on original hardware vs emulation, because the N64 had shaders and other small graphical quirks unique to the console. An example of this would be Morpha in OOT. On original hardware Morpha had a blue stripe pattern running along it, but in emulation Morpha has a checkered pattern. I bring this up because I remember those ooze bubbles looking exactly like N64 controllers when I was a kid.

1:55 - It doesn't just affect NPCs, but also the THEM on the night they attack Romani Ranch! As a result, it makes it easier to defend the barn (though the trade off is it last longer, though since your focused on taking them down, the slow down makes it easier to keep track of them and buys you more time to eliminate them especially if Link has the Bunny Hood as it allows him to deal with THEM on foot (Epona isn't really necessary with time slowed and the Bunny Hood making Link run fast, and turns the barn defense into a 3D shooting gallery where you have to keep an eye on the ones that spawn closest to the barn, shooting them every once in awhile to return them back to their spawn point! The slow down makes them move slower thus the ones that spawn further away are less problematic as you can shoot them from afar to reset their progress, thus the ones closer to the barn are the priority targets to ensure they don't close the gap! Sure, it's quicker with Epona, but you have to focus on riding and aiming, so using the slow down with the Bunny Hood can be preferable, especially if you keep an eye on what the dog is barking at)! Also, being on foot means you can stick closer to the barn as Them that spawn furthest away are less of a concern especially if it takes them forever to make any progress and can be easily dealt with as hitting them once resets them back to their spawn point! That's why I like the Barn Defense side quest as their are different strategies that can be implemented rather than just sticking with Epona! I like how Link is able to use the power of the Ocarina of Time & Bunny Hood to defeat THEM, though you can also use both methods, as Link can dismount Epona at any point! So while it may not effect the Guay's speed, it does slow down THEM's approach!

In OoT, whenever you used a bomb to activate the countdown on a Gossip Stone, you could change the Gossip Stone's color by hitting it with the sword whenever it flashes blue or red. This stops the countdown and prevents it from launching, but leaves it permanently red or blue. This is a possible inspiration for the Gossip Stone grotto puzzle in Majora's Mask, but I wouldn't be surprised if the original trick also works to change their color.

#10 - I think the bombs and bombchus work too; it's just that, if you're actually trying to win, you're not likely setting either explosive near them-- as well as the blast is likely to knock you off the platform, and the 'oops, you fell off' dialogue immediately replaces the "ouch that hurts" dialogue. I bet you could test the bombchu by just holding it until it self-destructs.

you can use the bomb mask safely while you defend with your shield.
You can instantly kill the man eating plants that float on the water in the wood temple as a Goron.
There are two animations depending from where you shoot the beehive in with the pirates (I think is depending where you enter).
The bomb shop throw water at you when you try to fire a bomb in their shop
The timer from when you face skull kid and he tries to crush the moon will change depending on the number of giants you have awaken.
there are rupees that you can only get in the night of the second day in the laundry pool (Where the weird guy that plays music and Anju sit) If you don't collect them they will be behind bars and inaccesible the next day.
You can play any song in the game uninterrupted. If you push a button while playing the ocarina (I think is R) you can perform any song from the game without triggering their effects. I used to practice the entire songs like this. Other buttons simply change how low of high pitch a key sounds.

They differ from the normal variety as they can't bend their stalk and can only spin their stalk around in a futile attempt to hit Link if he's too close!

    1. they are basically blind, they will be unable to see you if you sneak by them slowly. (works for MM and OOT)
    2. they can not attack Deku Link and Goron Link, they will try but they will fail on contact

Hell, that was the case/easiest tell between versions 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2 of _Ocarina._
1.0 - Most gold cartridges and a few rare greys; you can warp out of the Ganon fight, Gerudo symbol is the star-and-moon, Fire Temple has some public domain islamic chanting in the BGM, Ganondorf's blood is red.
1.1 - Most early print greys, a few rare golds; there's a bottle glitch you need to do to use the ocarina and warp out, symbol is star-and-moon, chanting is still there, Ganondorf's blood is same color as whatever tunic you have on.
1.2 - Later print greys, and all ports and versions thereafter are from this build: symbol is now the wrench-like "cobra pattern," chanting is removed, Ganondorf's blood is green.
Now, the thing is was that all changes were done internally. Scuttlebutt says that, for example, they changed the chanting and the symbol due to complaints from muslim groups. But, this cannot be the case: if you get into the debug mode, you can see the compile date for each build, and all three versions are _before_ even the Japanese release of OoT.

Actually with the Song of Time, Bank, and those Silver Rupee chests, basically can act as a quick way to max out your bank balance, allowing you to easily get rewards tied to said bank balance! 7:20 - "If my memory serves me, it does reset with each cycle (and possibly even by just leaving the area like with grass)! The effect of Bombs on Gossip Stones is in Ocarina of Time as well. The visual effect of the count down is different though. Specifically in Ocarina of Time, the colors don't fade out. Instead the color just changes from gray to blue, gray, blue, gray, blue, gray, then red. I forget if it even changes back to gray before lift off. But a side effect of the colors not fading out is that if you interrupt the count down by attacking the Gossip Stone while it's blue or red, it will remain that other color until you either restart the count down with another bomb, or unload the area.
Funnily enough, it also returned in Skyward Sword as an Easter Egg. When I found a Gossip Stone for the first time in Skyward Sword, the first thing I did was bomb it. It doesn't have a count down, it just blasts off right away. But also after it explodes a replacement springs up.

@@ebonysable6093 TC is mistaking this for OOT. Anju's father is Tortus, who is dead in Majora's Mask. Mutou, the leader of the carpenters, is NOT Anju's father. His OOT doppleganger (who isn't named much like Anju, Grog, etc) is the Cucco Lady's father from Ocarina of Time. Yes, the relationships in MM are different for some characters. Grog appears in MM as well, but he's shown no relation to Mutou or Anju either, and in OOT he is unnamed as well.
Despite this fact, Anju's grandmother in _both_ games are dopplegangers of each other. The Potion Shop Lady is the Cucco Lady's grandmother and the Master Carpenter's mother. The Potion Shop Lady's doppleganger in MM is Anju's senile Grandmother who tells stories.
"The Foreman is pissed cause Kafei disappeared, leaving Anju alone at the alter."
Despite all this, the Foreman Mutou IS pissed about Kafei disappearing, but its not because Anju is his daughter. And Kafei didn't leave Anju alone at the alter, they didn't have their wedding yet, they were to have their wedding at the Carnival of Time.
In fact, Mutou and Anju return in Minish Cap to similar roles they had in OOT. Anju is named Anju here, but she's running the cuccoo catch minigame. There's no indication in this game, to my knowledge, that she's related to Mutou, even though she was in OOT.
Gorman appears in this game to sell houses. Even though he's Ingo's doppleganger, and Talon even appears, Gorman is not tied to Lon Lon Ranch at all.
Hell, in MM, Talon literally appears as the Milk Bar Owner. He is not, however, Romani and Cremia's father, their parents are dead in MM.

Oh wait! There's a hilarious thing that I just remembered.
You can only do this if you have the game modded to be able to use any item and play any instrument in any location.
If you go to the goron race and you play the goron lullaby right as the race is starting (before the timer counts down to start roughly just before everyone zooms off), every single goron at the race will instantaneously fall asleep.
It was the funniest thing I've ever seen in my life and it only works if you're in the race as a goron. I have no idea if there's other item or song related things you could do with that mod active as well.
I do know one other thing where if you time using bombchu just right sometimes you can get the dodongo enemies to swallow them and damage them.

4:24 - The Goron Ground Pound is basically the equivalent to the Megaton Hammer from Majora's Mask as both produce shockwaves and if I remember correctly, the Megaton Hammer can also flip Teketites in OoT! Early in development Goron Link was apparently able to wield the Megaton Hammer as his main weapon (like Hyrule's Goron Hero who originally killed Volvagia) instead of fighting unarmed as in the final version! I guess the Ground Pound was added after the Megaton Hammer weapon concept was scrapped! I'm guessing the Hammer was originally intended to be like Zora Link's Boomerang Fins, a weapon tied to one of the races in OoT (as the Boomerang is obtained from Jabu-Jabu's belly which is a Zora focused dungeon due to Ruto, the Zora's Sapphire, & curse on the Zora's Patron deity which caused everything)!

Some sorta minor ones but the guard watching the dancers is said to have a crush on both of them, which is why it focuses on him for part of that cutscene
The carpenter is also thought to have a thing for anju.
This one is kinda minor, BUT the happy mask salesman has special dialog for most if not all of the different masks you can earn.
This one is also pretty well known but the circus leaders mask is a bit or a redundancy violation, the only real use it has is preventing the Gorman brother from attacking the milk jugs on the lon lon ranch/milk bar quest, you need the cow mask to get the circus leaders mask, since it's ugly and rarely used most people don't know that it actually cries while your wearing it.
Oh! And if you manage to somehow guess the code to enter the bombers sewer passage without getting the code from the hide and seek, the leader will stop you when you come back out and have special dialogue saying he don't know how you figured out the code but your a member here's the notebook he won't give the notebook if your deku though.
I'm not 100% sure but the code they ask for to enter isn't entirely random there are a few seeds it uses like the file name or the time or something idk exactly so it is possible to guess

      @ginomctony6773 2 месяца назад

I'll be honest guessing the code outright is very unlikely unless you manipulate the game memory or find out exactly how the game generates it, I guess a better way to put it is that you don't have to do the hide and seek game twice, just write down the code when you get it as deku link and it never changes.
For testing the deku part of this I suppose you could find a way to clip past the guard kid as long as you don't like majorly manipulate the game I don't think people will mind you doing some minor things to help test things that would otherwise be time consuming or hard, like no clip through that kid to come back out of the sewers as a deku. That wouldn't hurt a thing mechanism or game wise other then showing hidden dialogue.

8:40 - "The reason this Carpenter gets mad is the implication he's a rival for Anju's affections or alternatively he is angry at Kafei due to rumors he ran off with Cremia (everyone save for the Curiousity Shop owner isn't aware that Kafei has been turned into a child by Skull Kid, even Kafei's parents don't know what happened to them & I assume he doesn't want to burden his parents with his predicament as his father has more pressing matters with the Moon of Impending Doom looming overhead and whether to continue with the festival and his predicament makes getting married to Anju problematic due to his age regression)! Mind you a lot is implied through conversations and there is even a hidden cutscene that occurs at the Stock Pot Inn between Anju & her mother at a certain time which can be triggered by listening in from the spot in the wall of the room Link can stay in if he acquires the Room Key on the First Day (in the 3DS version he requires the Goron Mask due to Link-Goro, the one who actually rented it being a Goron, which is presumably to make Anju appear less scatterbrained as in the original she lets Link take the room key even if he is Hylian or Zora, as Deku Link is considered too young to rent a room)! The Boss Carpenter seems to dislike Kafei cause he ran off and likely either believes the rumors and/or assumes he evaluated cause of the Moon! The Boss Carpenter refuses to leave the city and is a major proponent of not evacuting, to the point he doesn't flee on the Third Day! Ultimately he has a point as there is nowhere to run (save for maybe Hyrule via the Lost Woods portal) as the moon will consume everything if it hits so fleeing is pretty much meaningless!

To be fair, the first Zelda game was very non-linear but the games became more linear over time because of a fear of confusing people and making them stop playing. I guess there's some merit to this, since I know of a few people that are not too patient and wouldn't like being able to do stuff out of order because it's not straightforward. On the other hand, MM was pretty set up for this. It's one reason why it's a game that fits randomization so well. On the other hand, I guess there was some subtle reference about going around a clock or something to make it have a set order, except that you jump from 6 to 12 to 8 to 9 to 3 so maybe that's not it, despite the whole clock aesthetic that Termina Field is going for with the lighthouse light in the middle and everything.

In the original N64 gold cartridge version of the game, you cannot kill the guay outside the Clock Town wall after it has given you money. If you try to use the bow it will result in a dry fire as if your quiver was empty until the bird de-renders. But be warned! Attempting to shoot it with the hookshot will break the game! You will find yourself stuck in that position, unable to do anyhing. Your only options are to watch helplessly as time ticks down and the moon falls, or perform a hard reset on your console. Either way, you're losing all your progress for that three-day cycle.

Check for how much the Magic Mushroom sells for in the Curiosity Shop. I don't remember if it's barely anything or 200 rupees. Also, I don't remember if the Deku Princess can be sold there as a bottle item nor what you get paid for her.

Ah, right, consider testing between the 3DS version and the original if buying the Medium Bomb Bag during The Prelude screws up the Bomber's Notebook for the 3DS version. (because then it might not be mentioned as a task done and thusly voiding 100% completion in said notebook)
I don't think it does anything bad in the original, but I'm saying this with a "Citation Needed" next to it. if anything I think the N64 version just helps you skip to the Biggest Bomb Bag faster without consequences later on. Doubt this part needs testing but I won't stop you.

.....And I suppose one final thing to test is "What is the biggest blast that you can use on the Giant Bell outside the Stock Pot Inn's rooftop? or "What is the hardest you can hit the bell slash "most effective outcome?""

Also, on the road to Ikana canyon, the creepy guy who reveals the hookshot tree with the Garo mask will do the same if you show him the Gibdo mask. It's kinda pointless because the Garo mask is required to get the Gibdo mask, but I guess it's nice for a fresh cycle?

If you stand in the right spot, and aim the (hook?)shot perfectly, you can latch onto the tree and get to (ikana?) canyon early. If i recall you need an item (ice arrows?) to get there. I've done it, the aiming is tricky.

Funny you mention that, I posted a video a while back demonstrating this, but I took it down didn't want to deal with Nintendo coming after me. It works on the N64 so I knew about it well before the internet. Back then you needed fancy/expensive stuff to record it

    3:06 well, impossible without glitches
i've never been any good at the kinds of glitches speedrunners use, all that backflip bomb stuff, all the frame-perfect inputs, but sneaking into Sakon's hideout I can do! You just face the oversized crack and roll until you jump through it.
4:25 if the same glitch exists from Ocarina, once flipped, you can stun them with deku nuts or whatever, then wait and when they turn back they will just zip into the sky as if their gravity is also flipped.
17:45 i am surprised i've never seen a rom hack actually use this as a mechanic. put something on the ceiling, say a Beamos, and require you to weaponize the gossip stone below it.

I was playing Majora's mask today and learned that you can use your deku mask to instantly sprout a bean instead of using water.
