In Chapter 16 you have 2 choices - elevator or stairs. Elevator is faster, but not as safe (you have some fights and nosy people). Then again, you have 59 floors of stairs. The walks takes over 10min in real time, so we edited the video into the rant, they have between them. Barret even sings and Cloud makes a joke! For real.

I was afraid they were going to pussify Barret to make him more politically-correct. But I think they struck a great balance between profanity every other sentence and still selling the idea that Barret was based on Mr. T persona, making him an endearing character we remember him fondly as, but sassy as I remember him. Because when he does complain about the stairs, it's believable to his character.
I'd be over the moon if they introduced the concept of Wallace Wisdom....

Okay, Cloud of all people making a joke should have been a much bigger deal of a scene.
To my knowledge he's never done that.
I count Cloud's "Nailed it I know thank you. Moving on" as a joke
Slightly before this point, Tifa asks if he'll also help in rebuilding the bar, and Cloud jokingly answers "for a price".
Usually his humour is sarcastic as noted or him fumbling and showing the goofy dork deep inside.
A man is his truest self in the face of death. These stairs put Cloud under so much physical and mental stress that his true personality started to puncture from from the steel exterior formed from his past trauma.
In other words, if Cloud had to keep going, he probably wouldn't even *need* the planet's help to get back to normal.

Notice how the music gets slowly distorted the higher they get up as they get tired. The detail is great.

The fast forwarding to each dialogue point is appealing and humorous at the same time.
Yeah, it makes me laugh whenever the video fast-forwards.

I get the same way when I’m doing something cardio heavy….not only talking in the first place, but people making me repeat myself AS I’m doing something cardio heavy.

I love how the music slows and distorts the further up you go. Makes this moment even better.

In Disc 2 (The Midgar Raid), you can go back into the Shinra Building. Near the top of the stairs is the Limited Moon weapon for Red XIII.
@@bopkiru Having just replayed the original, yes it's an Elixir. Limited Moon is Red XIII's Ultimate Weapon, and does not appear here, instead appearing once you talk to Bugenhagen in Disc 3. Instead, it's the Behemoth Horn weapon for Red XIII

I kinda like the little addition of the ambient sound distorting as if you're body is actually overworked and how cloud almost blacked out at that final flight of stairs.

I never really cared for Barret in the original. Didn't dislike him, was just indifferent. But I love him in the remake! He's actually one of my favorites now.
