Thank God I researched before I decide to buy a new phone. I removed a pack of bushes from the Hole so satisfying…

I realised that the dust in my port was blocking the charger from going in fully. That’s why it wasn’t making a connection and charging
I held it up to the light and used a really small flat screwdriver and noticed the dust had collected at the back towards to two sides.
Softly I removed this dust that had squashed itself especially at the two corners.
Once I saw it coming out I tried the charger. This time it felt like it went in all the way and the charging began immediately

I did mine and couldn’t believe the amount of lint that came out. You would think apple would add a rubber cap or something to to prevent this.

Samsung used to on the s5 but so many broke off. I’m guessing that’s why apple doesn’t bother

I am a novice at soldering at the moment and don't feel remotely qualified to teach that kind of stuff. I just took a 30 day class on some soldering basics, mainly ipad charge ports and consoles (HDMI port on Xbox/PS4/PS5). With those skills alone you would be off to a great start. I'll drop a link below for that course

Mainly just random dust and dirt in the air, my phone is in my pocket 50% of the time, in my hand 25% of the time, and on my nightstand the rest of the time, and it was worse than this. People just don’t really think about how all that dust can build up over time.

Im a union painter, we spray, sand etc etc there’s dust everywhere at all times no matter what. Some people put their phones in zip lock bags at work but I find it kinda annoying. We need it to call people around the site
