Was hoping able to do that. My old phone has battery swelling, don't feel like replacing it. Remember my old laptop has battery swell problem also, was able to run that without battery. Remember very old phone use to be able to do the same thing run without battery. Now modern devices is just one battery swell after another.

You don’t have to, the flex and the wireless coil are soldered together. It’s certainly easier for the average person to preform a repair that doesn’t involve any soldering

Now days I put a wedge next to the battery connector, you don’t want to accidentally bend one of the pins and have to repair that connector. As for the touch not working. Have you tried another screen. The flex on that model is so short. It’s possible you tugged on it a little bit too hard. I’d either try another screen. Or id try reseating the 2 flex’s on the actual screen next to the daughter board

@@repaironwheels I’ve got pretty much everything. Just watched a vid and have found that I have a burned filter(cap? Looks like a resistor)don’t know the value. I must have made a mistake somewhere and caused this. At 0201 it’s going to be a challenge. No coffee that day. What’s the likelihood of finding one on an old junk iPhone 6P. Update: ordered a set of magnetic ferrite beads of various ohms. Fancy name for filters I guess. 0402 is the smallest. Question is what’s the ohmage? They go from 0r to 2k.

The coil is a lot more resilient than most people think. It’s also entirely unnecessary. If it’s damaged or removed, there aren’t any negative consequences

iPhone 8 y anteriores, iPhone 13 y posteriores, el altavoz auditivo es su propio componente modular, solo las series X, 11 y 12 requieren soldadura.

Is the actual glass is cracked I wouldn’t install a screen protector. It won’t loook very good

My new method is using an ifixit jimmy + heat + isopropyl alcohol 91% or higher. The isopropyl is the key. Also avoid using suction and lifting up on the glass

Apples main goal the past few iPads had been to make them thinner and thinner. Obviously the downside of that is they are a bit flimsier. But im included to believe that anyone would run into that issue at some point the thinner you make your device

Greyed out WiFi is a board issue not an antenna flex issue. Likely one or several pads are missing/ripped off the board resulting in grayed out WiFi

It could be anything from board damage to damaged flex. I’d start with disconnecting everything that isn’t absolutely necessary. So basically plug in the charge port, screen and battery. Plug in to power to initiate powering on. If it’s still not turning on you might have damaged the board

It all depends on how much experience you have, I see “professional” repair shops screw up this job all the time. As a general rule, I always suggest replacing the housing with that of a genuine Apple part. You’re way less likely to have issues or damage the phone.

As of now the software used in the video stops working on the 7 series. To my knowledge, an exploit doesn’t exist for the 13 and it could be years until that happens

Whenever there’s water damage my usual suggestion is you are better off putting the money into another phone. You can find a fully functional SE for around 100-150. The only reason I would suggest putting money into the device is to recover data. If it’s not something simple like a screen or battery board repair can easily jump to 200-300

The easiest way is to just peel off your screen protector, you’ll either find that was the problem or you’ll find a cracked screen underneath

Nope. They are different sizes. Some of The flex’s won’t fit properly

There are holes in the board that you secure down with a stand off screw. They are literally in different places from one to the other. The sim tray is in a different spot. The camera flex would come up too short. As would the power/volume flex and the charging port flex

It’s probably board related. I just had someone mail me a device like that. It ended up being cd3217. Once I replaced it, it started charging normally

@@repaironwheels Was it not charging when you plug it in but then charging at around 12w when you restarted it with it plugged in? That’s what mines doing, not sure if it’s hardware or software, I already restored it by doing “erase all content and settings”. It happened after I bought a magnetic cable, seemed to work fine for maybe 1 charge, I then plugged it in at 80%, left and came back a few hours later and it wasn’t charging and still at 80%.
