Like the dude said if you not comfortable take it to your provider, that's what I would do, as I would screw it up.Iam hopeless with this sort of stuff, I need someone next to me to show me how to do it, after that I would be okay.
Another tip; If you want to avoid getting the ports dirty or damaged from every day wear and tear, invest in dust plugs for the charging port and for your headphones jack if your phone has one.
It's 3 am in the damn morning. I'm a grown man. And I'm doing this because my phone has absolutely quit charging with none of my cords staying in. And sure enough, it seems like I got an inch worth of dirt in that port. Plug the cord back in, and it's tight as ever. God bless all of you who make these very easy troubleshooting videos for the world's simplest issues.
Absolute lifesaver- the charger was going in but it wouldn’t charge and I figured it was broken but after cleaning it with some stuff I could find- works like brand new
Thank you! I would normally be scared to mess with my phone, but realized I have the same tweezers and following your steps did the trick! I really apricate how slow and calmly you explained everything.
My phone stopped charging this morning and I have been trying to get it to work since then. I was ready to give up. I was heading to the store in the morning. Thought to look up videos and found yours. This was a saver. Thank you so much!!!
@Bentley Ward lol bruh if your charging port is full of gunk your cable will not make a connection there for it will not charge so resetting the phone will not work if your charging port is gunked up
I was looking for a video on how to replace a charging pin when I came across yours...thanks man, you saved me a lot of trouble and money....works like a charm, now charges like new.
Just tried this. Didn’t have any solution so just tried it without and out popped a piece of lint. Charger’s working fine now. Thank you so much. Saved me a visit to the phone shop 👏👏👏
Mr Phone Doctor thanks for having this video made. I walked into a phone repair shop and told the guy I just wanted the port cleaned and he was talking about $35 at first to open my phone up and check for dust inside and the port. Then I asked so what about just the port and he said same fee. Glad I was not eager to have it done as you said most places would do it free of charge. I ended up following your steps but with Safety Pin and I have my port back. Thanks a lot!
I used interdental brush as it clean out in narrow locations. I used contact spray CRC 2-26. A contact spray praised by old timers. And compressed air. It worked nicely.
This video was so helpful! I didn't have any alcohol to use but just using a sharp needle to pick out all the built up lint did the trick and now my phones charging like it were brand new! Thank you!
First I was thinking "No, it will not work on my phone, I don't see much dust in my USB-C port". Then I saw the demo where you showed that your cable does not go fully inside the port, which was my case. So I tried to remove it with a toothpick in plastic, again and again and...it worked perfectly! Hidden dust removed and the cable can now go fully inside the USB-C port. A big thank you, you're a life saver!
Thanks bro! It took me like over 40 minutes to clean it but man it was worth it! I have been struggling for the past 6-7 months to charge my Phone.. Thanks again and keep it up!👍👍
Thanks!!!! I was ready to trash my phone. Basically, the cable kept coming lose: Headphones, cable in car for navigation, charging. The headphones and navigation was exceptionally frustrating. Now it works great. I used a pin from a bulletin board, didn't use the alcohol, and sucked out the fuzz with a vacuum cleaner.
Cheers mate this was a life saver, had done iso wipes and cleaned the usb c port with a tooth pick but using some pointy tweezers i was able to get the stuff suck on the side, now im back to fast charging and no more wired cable jiggling to get it charging.
My phone was on 3% battery and my charger port just won't let the charger in so I just played this video and did everything that he said, at first i was a little sceptical about using the alcohol in the port as i have lost a laptop to that before but it worked out exactly how he showed!! Thanks!
Fantastically awesome. I was thinking of getting the charging jack changed for oneplus. And this thing worked wonders. Mr. Doctor, you are awesome. ❤️ Though not that professional but used a slim pin to pull off the dirt from a type C port. Thank you very much, Kudos to you. Long way to go Doc.
Outfrigginstanding, 5 minutes and it worked, few drops 70% rubbing alcohol and removed lint with a needle finished up with a tooth brush, cable goes all the way in and we are charging, thanks a bunch.
Thank youuu, it worked perfectly! I thought I had to change phone/send it to fix somewhere as multiple cables kept unplugging and it always entered "slow charge" mode
saved my butt with this video thank you. I only dry scraped with a sewing needle on the edges and I got heaps of gunk out which enabled my charging/ data cable to properly connect again :)
It worked!!!! Thank you 😅😅 I didn’t have the alcohol so used water instead. I’m shocked that there was so much gunk in there. Definitely getting the lint damp was the trick for me. Thank you 🙏🏾

nice video, very helpful, but just a suggestion I recommend you/your team/editor to keep the music volume a bit low or use music with less bass to it cause sometimes your voice is getting canceled out.
Thank you so much dude! You just got a new sub! You're a lifesaver! Surprisingly enough, there aren't many tutorials WITHOUT compressed air can and I was terrified of experimenting with something I have no knowledge of. My phone wasn't charging at full speed. It was only charging under 800Amp with low being 10Amp and highest being 720Amp. Now it has gone up to 3000Amp and beyond, like it used to. I used a toothpick (sliced half/thin) gently, along with a common pin and a toothbrush. For anyone who's going through the same; I also cleaned out my Type-C charging cable, which had surprisingly more debris than the port on my phone. I also cleaned the USB front of the cable and the adapter as well.
Thanks dude... I was fed-up with slow charging Went to shop for replacing charger... As the cost was high so thought of trying at some other place Saw your video.. cleaned it myself using alcohol and forcep Result is amazing.. Charging speed is just like that in new phone
I wasn't able to get the charger fully snapped in anymore but i did clear enough from the port to get a charge going again, so thank you for the help. This saved me alot of time/hassle.
this worked on my samsung, shaved a toothpick thinner with rubbing alcohol. I couldn't see any dirt, but I found a lot more than I expected. it charged up after. thank you

I wonder why manufacturers stopped fitting those plugs as standard on phones.
They also have phone cases with charging port and/or headphone protection plug attachments.
Thanks I''ll get some. Have a great day.
Wow this worked perfectly. I went from taking 6 hours for a full charge to immediately going back to 1.5 hours for a full charge. Thank you!
