@@welsh7858 True, but part of his story arc is (if you romance him) coming to love someone other than himself. He is a very, VERY, flawed character, but still redeemable. Which is what makes him interesting and attractive to people.

Honestly I think it makes sense because until later in the game if you help him redeem himself, he is just thinking in terms of the most efficient, expedient, selfish actions. He wants to get rid of the tadpole and that's all he cares about. So Tav asking if killing Karlach will get the more powerful Mizora off their backs, makes sense to him because you are basically (through a cruel method) asking, what will get Mizora to go away. Which is one less problem. But before Mizora appeared, it seemed like just a Wyll and Karlach issue amongst themselves. And it makes sense to spare Karlach, after all she can be a great asset to your team. This is just me trying to get into Astarion's head, not my own opinion. I love Karlach so much. Or I guess I probably could have made my point a lot shorter 😅 by saying, Astarion thinks Karlach could be useful, but then once Mizora comes around, then he is willing to sacrifice Karlach, to make life easier. (Of course he doesn't actively approve either; as from the evil pragmatic perspective it's just as easy to tell Wyll to get lost as well.)

Mizora kind of debunks herself. Karlach DOES have a heart. It's an Infernal Engine, which has replaced her organic heart. But it is still a mechanical heart that serves the purpose of her original heart. Therefore, Kalrach has a heart. Mizora's clause does not state that all hearts need to be organic hearts. Or would she also exclude people who've had organ transplants?
