I live near the Menger Hotel in Texas, where Robert Johnson recorded his "devil inspired " 27 songs in a room there, right onto was records...every year there is a kind of celebration, not really a celebration, but a acknowledgement of the scary history. Nearby, the St. Anthony is so haunted they finally built a ghost themed bar in the hotel, serving haunted drinks in a dark, blue and smokey atmosphere. Next to that is Milam Square, considered the "devils square". There are ancient Indian accounts of evil spirits that roam an acre of land that is now prime downtown property. If you like hunting the paranormal, this place is crawling with stuff.

I have heard of a story about an encounter with the devil. On a stormy night, a greedy castle lord was informed about a visitor at the front door by a servant. The lord ordered him to be sent away. However the servant told his master that the mysterious visitor had come to gamble, and brought a lot of wealth with him. The lord was intrigued. Upon meeting the mysterious stranger, the lord asked what the man had to offer. The stranger brought out a bag full of rubies. The lord saw the rubies and became entranced by them. They went to the great hall, where they started gambling for the rubies. The loyal servant reminded the lord about how late it was. The lord replied that he didn't care, and would play until judgement day just to get those rubies. Then he threw the servant out of the room. Later on when the servant went to check on his master, the sight he saw horrified him. The room was awashed in flames, and there in the center of the room was his master, playing chess with the devil. It's said that if you look into that room on the anniversary of that night, then you'd see the same sight.

I don't know why, but I find dark folklore quite interesting. All of this type of stuff tells you so much about cultures and their people. You can really learn a lot, from even the most twisted tales. Although I don't believe folklore/religion surrounding concepts like the Devil, it's still amazing to hear of all the tales of him. I guess we'll truly will never know what the truth is on stuff like this until the day we die, and even then, we still may never know.
Anyway, a bit off topic there, but keep up the good work! Videos like this are always interesting, and they're made even better by you guys! Once again, keep up the good work! 👍🏻

I was reading linda Godfrey and all her dogman sightings seem to take place in old forests that early Indians called, "don't go there or you'll die", or whatever in their language, meaning that even in very early history, the locals saw or felt something very bad and now there are still sightings of what are supposed to only be creatures of legend. Even though the witnesses have no idea that these places were once avoided by ancient inhabitants! Where does the folktale leave off and reality take over, or do they fuel one another? The tales of old places really fascinate me too. I began to gather information on the land we own and it's pretty dark. But most of Texas is history of blood and the supernatural. There are numerous "skull ranch", "devils backbone", "demon creek", etc.

If you'll continue doing research on modern events occurring in the, 20th and the 21st centuries you'll find instances where Satan has possessed or affected and an individual where they were picked up and thrown across the room by an unseen malevolent force which is the essence of Lucifer's character, with those same affected individuals positively touched by prayers of the saints that continues to the present day aren't to be disregarded as nonsense or fables by any means!

A friend of mine once told me he went and stayed somewhere and told absolutely nobody where he was going to be at and then dared the devil to visit him. So, he did and a few moments later he heard a knock on the door and he went to see who it was and he said it was just some regular guy dressed in normal wear and asked my friend what he wanted. My friend said the situation freaked him out and immediately left the scene.

Giuseppe Tartini, 18th century Italian composer, famously had a vision of the devil. In his own words from a correspondence with French astronomer Jerome Lelande:
"One night, in the year 1713 I dreamed I had made a pact with the devil for my soul. Everything went as I wished: my new servant anticipated my every desire. Among other things, I gave him my violin to see if he could play. How great was my astonishment on hearing a sonata so wonderful and so beautiful, played with such great art and intelligence, as I had never even conceived in my boldest flights of fantasy. I felt enraptured, transported, enchanted: my breath failed me, and I awoke. I immediately grasped my violin in order to retain, in part at least, the impression of my dream. In vain! The music which I at this time composed is indeed the best that I ever wrote, and I still call it the "Devil's Trill", but the difference between it and that which so moved me is so great that I would have destroyed my instrument and have said farewell to music forever if it had been possible for me to live without the enjoyment it affords me."
The Devil's Trill sonata is still considered important repertoire and to this day is performed by accomplished violinists. This story is likely the root of historical associations of music with the devil, especially the violin.

Well to be fair...they're fairy tales and are NOT fact in any way, shape or form. They're stories. And Robert Johnson is famous for being the first or one of the first recorded blues singers...not for being a virtuoso. Have you heard any of his stuff? It's pretty simple and they pretty much all sound the same, tweaked here and there. His death was "mysterious" since he died broke and destitute. He never copyrighted any of his songs and never made any money. He was only a legend after his time as people pushed his royalty free music for their own benefit.

Oddly, the terrible movie called, "crossroads" used a scene with a crossroads in it that looked particularly creepy. When I was in LA, I met someone who had worked on the movie and they told me the location scouts found that crossroads in the deep South, and when they filmed there, everything went wrong and terrible accidents happened...creepy!!!

Saint Dunstan's a badass. Armed only with crude middle-age era tools and wearing only monk robes, he was able to slap around Lucifer TWICE. No combat training, no magic weapons, no power armor, just massive brass balls. We need more heroes like him.

Ba'al, the devil, beelzebub et al get kinda offended when they are lumped in as one and the same entity. They are individuals. Number 5 was actually an encounter with Hell Hounds again different entities. 4 was a shapeshifter again a different entity. Regardless all of these entities were beings of ill intention just not all the same entity.

The guy in the last story sounds like he had epilepsy. I've worked with people that have seizures and they will scream and rage when they come out of one.

I used to live near Squire Cabal’s tomb. The church was destroyed by arson leaving only the tower and a shell and behind it is the ruin of a medieval chantry. It’s up above the town and the legend is that this is because the devil moved all the building materials there every night to try and stop it being built. The steep path up the church is like a motorway for bats every evening. There is cave entrance nearby and a lot of them emerge from it to feed. The hounds are the Whischt Houndsand feature in other local legends
that part about the horse shoe is really interesting. it's funny, right before I watched this, I just watched a great video on the beyond science channel about the origins of certain words, and I made a long post about how my favorite thing is to learn about the origins of things.. another favorite of mine is experiencing synchronicities, which seem to happen to me every day lol..

Correction on Lucifer part. Lucifer and iblis is different. in christian myth lucifer is a fallen angel while in muslim myth there is no fallen angel. Iblis is a djinn.
Both of their backstories are the same. So therefore, Lucifer=iblis
Iblis story mirrors that of Lucifer.

I've always been so interested & fascinated in everything paranormal. Ever since I was a child I was able to sense spirits. Im from an older generation its so funny what you people believe the cross road demon idea was created by the tv series supernatural the meeting of a cross roads in the Robert Johnson story was added later on. his story is an amazing one he received a beating at a bar or something its been a long time, sustain a injury to the head, that how he got so good at guitar almost over night. theirs a surgeon that was stuck by lightning in our modern time as a result he is now a massively talented Pianist even though having no musical talent before hand. just thought id point that out, i like your channel though Paranormal Scholar its a good one.
The idea that there's a certain class of demons known as "crossroad demons" that make deals on behalf of the devil was created by Supernatural, yes.
However the idea that you can make a deal with the devil and that other supernatural phenomena occur at crossroads predates the show by a considerable margin.
Robert Johnson was a fantastic blues artist but hardly a master of the guitar. On most of his recordings the guitar isn't even in tune. If the Devil gave him a gift it may have been for songwriting but it certainly wasn't guitar playing or singing. He was more like an early blues version of Bob Dylan.
