What followed was a series of mysterious happenings so strange and brutal that he, and his younger brother Damodar Ketkar, were said to have been cursed by a great evil, placing them at the centre of a case of poltergeist phenomena that, in spite of its incredible documentation and chilling details, would be largely forgotten to history, and remembered, only very rarely, as The Poona Poltergeist.

This tallies with my experience somewhat.
Being in a military family we moved house almost yearly.
We had poltergeist stuff when we lived near Avebury. Pools of water randomly appearing on the floor, drawers opening and closing.
One terrifying night my sister's bed had moved a foot. And her bedside lamp was entangled in her bedding. She woke us up with her screaming.
The paranormal has dogged our family since Singapore, when a church that held noisy exorcisms on our street had a huge exorcism with fireworks and a dog exited their building and ran scared into our house.
We named it "Puppy" and adopted it. But the paranormal has been a problem ever since.
I have tried to contact various ppl to tell my paranormal experiences to, but nobody is interested outside of America.

I live in India and poona ( now known as pune) is my hometown and my father’s workshop is in this area you mentioned in the photo since 1980s. This story literally gave me eerie vibes and can’t believe how come I’ve never come across this the whole time and most probably the people here might not even know about this incident

I loved the crossover with the Elanora video! Very interesting and it is difficult to ascertain an objective cause of the happenings whether it be medical, psychological, fabrication, etc. The events and the way they are documented makes an excellent case for a poltergeist
Wikipedia has an article on the Indian scholar Ketkar who adopted the boy but it says nothing about a poltergeist simply because Wikipedia doesn't believe in poltergeists or poltergeist effects. The "fabrication" theory needs to be flushed down the drain because that's where it belongs.
I've only just found this channel and coming here is like taking that thirst for the dark ramblings of mad men, whisperings of witches dancing with devils...ts like taking that little part of me that I keep to myself out on the town for dinner and drinks, its just me cozy with rain tapping at my window and listening to you but its everything..I have no desire to search for it on my own anymore now that I have children so now I truly appreciate the time you put into this channel, I wish I could do for others that have the same interests the way you do it...I used to be in the library's all the time looking for anything bizarre and creepy...and it's in every time period..it's fascinating that nobody has truly opened some these subjects up to the public and devoured everything they could find and find a cure for it haha guess that sounds corny but seriously I have this constant need to find stuff to creep me out, safely though by reading about other people's experiences though and then once I've freaked myself out enough then I'm good for a bit...think I've rambled on enough...eeew there's a few movies but no where near enough to keep anyone satisfied for long so thank you 🙏🏻 thank you so much for the time you put into your channel, youve got an incredible talent for this 😊

No one in the 1920s and 30s was thinking about DNA.
Again another well made and narrated production! i first read of this case in a children's library book called "Poltergeists, Hauntings, and the Haunted" I'll have to review it. the details are fuzzy and it was probably highly censored. I would like to speak on the subject briefly. I am speaking from my own insights and many years of research, just to be clear. There are unseen creatures all around us. some are sapient, some animals, which actually reproduce, and some are beings of unbelieveable power. Thankfully most of these have been shackled and are only allowed to go so far. these are or were heavengly beings. they can travel and teleport things from the other side of the earth instantaneously (see bell witch case) they know almost all that is going on in any place they care to (talking mongoose) they can pull items in and out of our reality, they can know our thoughts. They can make people very sick There are untold other things they can do as well. Yes. Bad news. They're also quite mad. such power, such depravity, and fear, (perhaps the worst of them: think of a wounded animal.) they want power to replace the ones that were taken from them. That part is "living" or spiritual life forces. they are usually dark and light, and use accumulation rather then polarity. Fear, pain, agony, malice, and guilt are all in the dark. the light is their opposite. how do you make such energy? Cause the negative! Poltergeist hauntings very often start with something awful happening, rape is very common, incest even worse. the person is surrounded in dark. A being comes by and senses it. usually a pubescent, a fountain of life force to begin with. they latch on and through fear suspicion stress and anything else they can stir up, they lay in, enjoying their work immensely. When they can't suck up anything else, get bored or if acted upon by superior power, with the faith of the subjects in conjunction. it leaves. I bet you know what these creatures are. as i warned you in the beginning there they are all around. and they are powerful. Their purpose is to use you and decieve you. and they often do so by turning people on to the occult, driving ouija boards, spells, idols, seances (look at the case where they made a person up and the host played along) seeking communication with the dead, all such things. the dead, are in fact, with rare exception, asleep. They will rise at the right time. Please think about these things the next time you touch a planchette. 413 would never BS you and this ain't his first time around the block (old fart)

My neighbour, an Indian lady who's a believer, told me once she went with her husband to visit her sister who lived in Poona, and for 2 nights while they slept, she would hear noise from the neighbour's as if there was a party. Loud music would wake her up several times in the night, so she made a mental note to question her sister why they stayed next to such neighbours. On the 3rd day, she asked the sister about her neighbour's bad habits of hosting loud parties and why they hadn't raised that issue with the police, her sister confused, said they've never heard any parties or had any problems with the neighbours. That night, my friend woke up angrily because of the loud noise, she woke her husband and her sister's family to hear the noise but everyone was stunned because she was the only one hearing those noises. She told me, they fasted and prayed for 3 days and she stopped hearing the paranormal parties.
I think some places have a thinner fabric that dividers this realm from the other.

As soon as I saw the word Poltergeist in the title I knew for a fact that there was going to be a teenager going through puberty living in the house. I was right, the boy's 15 year old brother came to live with them and that is when all of the horrible events started. Poltergeists have nothing to do with ghosts, spirits or the supernatural. They are considered paranormal however as the child going through puberty has hormonal changes as well as other biological changes that produce temporary psychic abilities that manifest subconsciously and by the sound of it, his older brother must have harbored a lot of resentment towards his younger brother and therefore he was subconsciously attacking him. All poltergeist activity in every case I am familiar with, fades over time as the child fully matures into adulthood and is done with puberty just as Dr. Harry Price correctly predicted.
Can you explain how I had a poltergeist and I was 26 with two small children 2, and 1. It moved things, screamed in my left ear, possessed a black cat that would try to come in the home anytime I opened the front door. So many things....
@@mjtayip7978 I wish I could explain what it was you actually encountered. I don't know if what you had terrorizing you and your family was a poltergeist or something else entirely. I believe that there are malevolent spirits out there causing mayhem and fear and possibly what you encountered. What I can tell you is back in the early 90's when I was reading lots of books by paranormal investigators including some mediums, that teenage angst and hormones were the common denominator in all the cases that they had studied. That was the one consistent in all the cases. Again that was decades ago that I was researching the subject and unfortunately can't recall the specific books or authors I had read. But I did a quick search online just before writing this reply and found if you google " are poltergeists linked to teenagers" you will find a number of paranormal investigators who will corroborate what I have already stated. Did this occur at a home you recently had moved into? Also did you move afterward? And if you did, did the entity follow you to your new location? If you replied yes to the first two questions and no to the last, then you were most likely the victim of a malevolent energy spirit or ghost of a person who used to live there and angry you had invaded their territory. That is very different from a poltergeist.

Another fabulous video!! Thank you! What you state at the beginning about the two women scholars who were living and working Puna was in and of itself very interesting. As woman and a skilled professional who migrated to a foreign country for better work and economic opportunities, I found myself wondering if it was easier for these German women to find work and respect in their chosen fields in Puna. Did they, as women, have better job and income opportunities in in India than they had in their homeland in the early 20th Century? This has nothing to do with the actual content or thesis of the video but, as a fan please allow me to say that, it is exactly this sort of socio historic tidbit and the way in which causes me to question my understanding and/or personal hypotheses about history in general, that keeps me watching your content!
India used to very rich until British arrived , they reportedly stole 45 trillion pounds out of india. French , Germans , Scotts and Irish became rich employed in india.. They would work till their 40s and move out of india and settle down , retire.. Pay was very high compared to Africa , Australia and middle East. I have always had a theory about poltergeist and their causes. I'm a bit sensitive myself so it's easier to pick up on things like that. If you haven't noticed, poltergeist or attached to people, not places; ignore are they any kind of demonic entity, as they have no reaction to holy artifacts. First, let me say not to come for me, this is just a theory! Now, here's my theory; like I said, I'm a bit sensitive myself, I'm also not a skeptic. There are many other people with varying degrees of psychic powers, one of these powers being telekinesis. Many people don't know that they have these abilities, nor do they know how to deal with them or train them. I believe that poltergeist are really someone's unchecked telekinesis. They don't even know what's happening; all they know is that stuff is flinging across the room, and it only happens when they're around. Maybe some meditation and focus about controlling these powers might get them under control.
This Witch agrees...that often in these cases the manifestation acts upon subconscious feelings and is created by inability to regulate emotions or process trauma or mega I've seen motional states. Like it was he boy had been thinking...I don't want to go to school I want to go to Victoria Station , or somewhere he needed a train to get to. Or he was afraid of needing money or subconsciously estimated if he could bring the family money, then they wouldn't send him away like the clerk did...or if he felt deep down unworthy and hated himself. Then you have teleportation, coins apported out of things air....or senseless violence upon himself...

Great story. It think it is important to distinguish between specters of dead people and poltergeist such as are described in this telling. I think that this encounter is with living beings, perhaps not corporal creatures, but living nontheless.
Interesting idea...ya I always feel it hard to believe that someone's kin would be doin that from the other side...but I do think shadow ppl and the like are essentially extra dimensional parasites that feed on negative energy, so they take forms and do things to scare ppl into giving them that energy...so were almost thinkin along the same lines
Or, perhaps, it's a "PK manifestation", with the boy being it's originator and cause...
@@LucianCorrvinus Aye, perhaps! All I was trying to say was I think sometimes we equate poltergeist with dead people when it very well maybe another life form we are not totally aware of. Yes even what you mentioned should be considered too, but a lot of people just instantly think ghosts of dead people. I've seen specters, silent and seemingly just a projection and I've seen shadows that move and manipulate their surroundings in a way that suggests they are alive. They are two different occurrences. Granted I'm not as familiar with PK manipulations but I've no doubt it is something that can occur and seem like "spirits" too.
I would've taken a sample of that spirit spittle and sent it to a lab to see what it's made of.
Ghosts, poltergeists. Whatever they are something more definitely exists. Straight sober, wide awake, watching right in front of my eyes I seen my phone charger cable move in an impossible way clear as day. I was chilling on my couch and under the tv on the wall I had a space heater that was off and my charger was plugged in go the cable box under the tv which was above the heater and the charger was dangling behind the heater, I watched the charger lift up over the heater and drop down dangling over the front of it now, no wind or anything could have done that youd need to physically grab it to do that. It was in the middle of the day with sunlight shining in the house and everything. Most blatant and undeniable paranormal thing I've ever seen, I only wish it wasnt just me who saw it but I didn't know what to make of it, I was just happy that I seen something so clearly and it didn't happen when I wasnt looking. Idk if my charger moved a bit before which made me look at it but I was definitely looking at it enough to watch it lift up and over the heater like that. I've always believed in the paranormal and stuff like that, I'm not super religious but I definitely believe in a God and something more than us and just plain Jane reality.

Some aparitions are freindly, some are not, and this is the latter. I have heard of hauntings and seen some strange things in the house that I was brought up in, very strange things. A sea captain used to stand at the back bedroom window, looking out, an old sea captain. What he was doing in a 1930's house Lord only knows.

The essential question to these anomalous cases is....what is the mechanism involved...? Is it a case of mediumship, the dead brought to be the cause of these things? Is it a case of some malicious or demonic spirit visiting chaos upon the victims? Or is it, as I believe, the manifestation of human ability upon the environment? The cases often have similarities in thier basic backgrounds. The incidents are usually centered around young people of puberty age to young adulthood. That person is usually in some mental distress or issues where the emotions they feel are disabled or subverted. The activity usually starts off as minor and even benign...but will escalate eventually to be quite violent and directed to thatnoerson orntonthose they love and care about. The incidents seem to have no rational meaning or reason to the things that happen. Objects and even people are transported, or apported ( object that appear ",out of things air" like the coins). That often there are more phenomenon that are done by unseen hands, less often there are apparitions. That the forces involved will become much more visibly "real", ie teeth marks, hand marks, scratches. That little alleviation comes with spiritual remedies like excrsism or attempts to quell the "spirits". That these things happen around a person who the witnesses attest that there could be no trickery involved....
So what are we have here? As I said I believe it's a manifestation of human's ability to infect the environment. Amy Allen of The Dead files talks about what she terms a PK manifestation. Something we know that there is a history of such anomalous occurrences happening. We can see it evidence by the top of reports. Or more recently the Philip experiment. That the human mind has some ability to affect its environment in ways that we do not understand the mechanisms thereof. But often that these sufferers of these situations are young adults or approaching adulthood or puberty in states of emotional distress that they cannot have direct ways of dealing with or regulating that they subvert these emotions. And these emotions fuel a manifestation of their psycho connectabilities. Sometimes to the point where that Force becomes a entity unto itself and divorces itself from its originator. This is my feeling at least to be true in these particular cases much like in field I believe was also potentially this. As are several of the well-known poltergeist incidents where this happens much like the case in Romania there was a young man in Florida who had the same instances. There's a very well-known one where a young man was manifesting or around him was manifesting raindrops inside. Could there be true psychic abilities that we do not understand and can we tap into unconsciously. That would seem to be what the research and the documentation says to us. That the violence directed at these people is actually a sort of them hating themselves and subconsciously wishing to harm themselves because of whatever emotions or feelings or trauma that they've experienced that they cannot work through. There have been the cases I've mentioned in some of them where the person. But until we have more proof or more evidence to which to follow this line of thinking it's all woo.....
