Speaking of her coughing fit, Lauren Bacall jokingly asked if it had something to do with his secret. Well, Arnold Palmer DID end up choking in the PGA championship that year. He is not even mentioned on Wikipedia's coverage of it.
Five years later, in 1968, he and Bob Charles came within a stroke of winning it, being beat out by Julius Boros (nine years, Palmer's senior) on his third and final time winning the PGA Championship. That was the closest Palmer ever came to winning the PGA Championship.
